Happy weekend my loves!!! Today is Saturday, ( I’m sure you won’t be getting this post till tomorrow though;) but….I wanted to start catching you all up on how well the LIVE FIT TRAINER program has been going.
I just finished 2 weeks, and I feel super fit. I’ve been lifting heavier than I have ever lifted, without any cardio. Well, except my Zumba class on Mondays;) shhhh. Don’t tell Jamie Eason
Anyway…if I didn’t know the extreme importance of a healthy diet then…… I sure doooooooo now!!!!! Wow! I was actually imaging my body looking like a fuckin gladiator with all this lifting and no cardio, but in fact, the opposite. My body feels tighter, not bigger. Here’s the mistake people make. Lifting heavy with no cardio….and EATING BAD!!!!! That’s when you look big. Because my meals have been super clean and consistent calorie intake, I’ve been able to stay lean WHILE bulking. Genius.
Yes, it’s not the easiest thing to do. Eat healthy all the time. Honestly, this program has you eating beyond healthy. You must make it a lifestyle. Weighing your food, counting your calories, making sure you are in the right %’s within your macros. (protein-fats-carbs) it’s a science people, and I get it. It’s not for everyone.
So far, this is working. It’s also helped me control my binging. Myfitnesspal has kept me feeling really accountable. I’m guessing that’s what I needed. If you want results…you’ve got to make changes in your life that must be permanent. Just like my friends who have had babies…I always tell them when they’re feeling like cows after giving birth, I say… “Hey, it took 10 months to get your body like that, it ain’t gonna take 1 month to take it off!” Ok, not like I’ve ever been preggo, but…its the same thing with women struggling with weight all their lives. It took 29 yrs for my body to look like this, it ain’t gonna take 2 wks to get it exactly to where I want it. It’s about being patient, consistency, and 75% diet & 25% fitness. Your head has GOT to be in it. Trust me, throwing in the towel, which I’ve done many times over, is much easier, but seriously chicks. Lets get it together. Enough already.
Here are some of this weeks FAVORITES!!!!
All orange everythaaaaaang! New NIKE workout tights.
Typical morning breakfast:
1/2 cup egg whites, spinach, assorted veggies, and 1/4 cup quinoa scramble with a dollop of Trader Joes fat free sour cream ( 15 calories for 2 tbsp) and hot sauce
6 oz lean chicken breast. ( preferably organic, veggie fed) —PROTEIN
1/4 cup quinoa—STARCH
1/2 cup steamed broccoli & zucchini—VEGGIES
Add a tbsp salsa.
Story of my life… Protein prepping… I ran out mid week tilapia and chicken breast.
Favorite afternoon snack:
Jamie Eason’s CARROT CAKE PROTEIN BARS:
94 calories for 2 squares.
- 1 cup oat flour
- 2 scoops vanilla whey protein
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp allspice
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- 4 egg whites
- ½ cup erythritol, Truvia, or Ideal ( I used xylitol) or even a couple packets of stevia
- 8 oz baby food carrots
- 4 oz water
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, whey protein, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, baking soda and salt together in a bowl.
- Mix egg whites, Splenda, baby food carrots and water (optional) in a bowl.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix together.
- Spray glass pyrex dish with non-stick butter spray.
- Pour ingredients into dish.
- Bake 20-30 minutes.
- Makes 16 squares.

VEGGIE STUFFED PEPPERS!
These are wildly delicious and only 123 calories for one whole stuffed bad boy!!!! Absolutely amazing!
Clearly, you could add some ground turkey or lean beef.
This is sooooo easy! Try them out. I’ve been really into using nutritional yeast in dishes lately, and it adds this really fantastic, kind of cheesy taste to things. I am dying over it. Soooo good.
Tis recipe makes 4 large stuffed peppers.
4 servings—- 125 calories per serving. 4 gr FAT. 10 gr NET CARBS. 9 gr PROTEIN!
- 4 large peppers (any color)
- 1 large organic zucchini
- 1 small onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 cup organic grated carrot
- ¾ cup chopped white mushrooms
- 2 celery stalks (chopped)
- 3 tbsp peeled canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 egg
- ½ cup fresh grated parmesan
- spices: salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash seasonings, oregano, red pepper, garlic powder
- Topping: Fat free sour cream and onion mix in a pouch.
- Make a circular cut through the top of your peppers with a knife. remove all seeds.
- Set aside.
- Chop all your veggies & garlic like pic above.
- In a med-lrg pan, greased with a bit of pam or coconut oil spray, add all your chopped veggies, garlic, and seasonings.
- Sautee until softened. About 10 minutes.
- Once softened, remove from heat, and place in a lrg mixing bowl.
- Here, you will add…egg, nutritional yeast, parmesan, and the 3 tbsps tomatoes from the can along with some more seasonings.
- with that mix, you will fill the peppers to the rim.
- Cook in a small baking dish where they can be standing upright.
- Bake for 35 minutes on 375 degrees.

Fat free sour cream ( 15 cals for 2 tbsp) mixed with TJ’S onion mix! Bomb.com. I topped these awesome stuffed peppers with a tbsp of this mix, and fell in love. I’ve been adding a tbsp to everything, especially on my eggies in the morning;)
And last but not least……
Probably maybe favorite meal of the day…last meal of the day….
PROTEIN BEFORE BED!!!
CHOCOLATE CASEIN “rice” PUDDING!
Holy mother of god.
2 packages of SHIRATAKI Miracle Rice
2 scoops chocolate CASEIN ( I use gold standard)
2 1/2 cups SILK unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 cals per cup)
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
2 tbsp fat free sour cream or 0% Greek yogurt
4-5 drops stevia
Remove “rice” from package, place in meash colander and rinse for a while.
In another bowl, mix 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin with the 2 1/2 cups of milk & microwave for 1 min 30 sec.
Remove and whisk in casein protein.
Once combined, add stevia & sour cream (or 0%greek yogurt) and mix thoroughly. Place covered in fridge for a few hrs. Eat as night meal.
ONLY 118 CALORIES A SERVING. Serves 3
OHHH and of course, I can’t be forgetting to share my re-feed meal for this week. Lots of sushi last night along with a couple glasses of wine and beer.
How many calories over my max of 1460 you ask?..
Well….this meal took me 600 calories over my macro limit for the day. Taking me up to 2099.
Not bad though. Generally, refeed meals will be around 400-600 over your macros.
Yuuuuummmmmyyyyyy. I enjoyed it like such a fatty.

Coming into the end of my 1st LIVE FIT TRAINER week, I am feeling amazing!!!! Today is actually day 5, but no workouts today, so I figured I’d give you guys the lowdown on how it’s been going. I am not used to having 3 rest days in a row, but you know what?….I ain’t complaining cuz I’ve got a hunch that, that won’t be the case coming up here reaaaaaal soon. Lol. I’m gonna sit here and enjoy those 3 damn rest days. I gotta keep remembering that…whatever I was doing before wasn’t giving me the exact results I was looking for, so I’ve vowed to do it right and strict to the plan.
Phase 1 came with loads of prepping fun! I am fortunate to really love cookin’ and spending time in the kitchen, so that was no biggie what’s so ever. I am no stranger to meal prep Mondays;)
The NUTRITION during this phase is absolute key. Because some would consider this the “bulking” phase (building muscle, & no cardio), the proportions of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates that make up your daily macros is super important. I’ve come to find through my calculations and what my goals are, that my daily macros will looks like this: 40% protein, 30% carbohydrates, & 30% fats. Some don’t count their vegetable intake in their calorie counting, but I do. It counts for me.
MY FITNESS PAL is a great way to keep track of your caloric intake. At the end of your completed day, with food logged in, it will give you a % breakdown of macros. I’m totally obsessed with it. Also, it really does make you realize how wayyyyyyyyyy too many cals you were consuming before!!
1/2 c. Egg whites
1 c. Spinach with garlic
3 oz lean grass fed beef
2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins
1/4 c. quinoa
1/4 of med. cooked sweet potatoe
Kale with tomatoes, cucumbers, cider vinegar, EVOO.
6 oz lean protein
3 small Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars
Same as lunch:)

I’m kind of new to the “counting my macros” thing, so it took me a few days, as you’ll see, to get them spot on to where they needed to be.
On this particular day, I had some calories to kill ( I love saying that) so I made my fave lil post workout recovery drink by All Pro Science. I love the blueberry ice flavor. Now with this LA heat, I crave this drink more than anything.
The great thing about this product, is that it’s made with all natural ingredients, no artificial ingredients, and no fake crap or sweeteners. It’s packed full of essential amino acids, and made with grass fed protein.
Although on the higher end with carbohydrates, it is low in sugar, and fulfills all that your body needs to recover after a grueling workout.
1 packet Blueberry Ice APS RECOVERY
1/2 cup organic blueberries
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Add all ingredients into a vitamix or blender and enjoy as a summer slushie:)
Yeah!!!!!!! I passed the 1st day! Lol. So far, so good. I’ve been logging all exercises, supps, and caloric intake.
I can’t stress enough how IMPORTANT clean eating is to a program. Already, at day two, I woke up with some BOMB morning abs! Lol
ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN BITCHES!!! something we all struggle to get through out heads.
Day 2 , I woke up super sore from lifting, but it felt amazing. I’ve been really making sure that I stick to my schedules.
** Breakfast within an hour of waking up
**Cellucor pre-workout shortly after coffee and breakfast. ( 30-45 min before workout)
**Scivation Xtend (during and post workout) for recovery, amino acids
** 5-6 total meals a day with a caloric intake of 1500 calories a day.( this number is specifically calculated for MY lean mass, and body fat )
**very limited – none alcohol.
** Meal prepping. FAIL TO PREPARE…PREFARE TO FAIL
1/2 c egg whites
1/4 c cooked quinoa
1 cup spinach
Coffee with 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk.
3 Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars
3 oz grass fed beef
1/4 c quinoa with edamame and leeks
Small kale and tomato salad
1/4 cup sweet potato
2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins
Seared ahi salad with no dressing from Take A Bao

60 oz of water throughout the day.

Although my protein, fat, carb ratio was great…I was lacking in some calories. Skipping calories in this case with this type of program is no bueno. Just as taking in too many calories is no bueno…. Neither is taking in too little.
REMEMBER: this phase is for building muscle. If you don’t get enough food, your body will feed on that lean muscle mass that you are trying to create.
Got lucky with day 4’s workout! I get to do it at home!!! Yeah!!!
SHOULDERS & ABS
Today is my last day of lifting before my 3 rest days. Well, Sunday…I’m actually sneaking in a bit of cardio..oops. I have to Zumba people c’mon! I’m super excited! I’ll be teaching a Zumba class at this years Lululemon’s SOULcal celebration warehouse sale at the LA convention center.

Anyway….on today’s food log, I switched up a few things. I can’t get bored with my food, or I lose it. So, since going a little nutzo with my bodybuilding order of Cellucor Whey galore, I’ve been loving playing with all the new flavors of proteins. Today’s was a delicious Molten chocolate shake. Sooooo bomb!
An egg white frittata made with:
1/2 c egg whites
1/4 c cooked quinoa
Broccoli, spinach and zucchini
With a dollop of trader joes fat free sour cream and hot sauce.

It is a mighty HOT one today! Up bright and early this A.M. And ready for a packed day:) first things first, COFFEE! Then, tidy up the house. The folks are stopping by today… After scarfing down 1/2 a quest bar and pounds of fresh cut watermelon, I headed to my favorite Sunday hotspot, the Farmer’s Market.
Went a lil kookoo:) Always buying more than I actually need. I’m back to juicing, so I made sure to lots of greens and fruits.
Best part about the Farmer’s, are the fresh flowers! Today, I picked up 4 bunches of beautiful dahlias. They’re literally in every room now…until, of course, I forget to change the water, and they all wilt. Lol. The worst, I am.
But aren’t they stunning! The color is outrageous! They don’t let off any kind of smell, but whatever. I’ve got plenty of candles:)
Oh, yes….there was a new lady in town selling her homemade RAW cashew cheese. I tried it, and of course had to buy it. It was delicious. I’ve always loved the raw lifestyle, and incorporate it into my day to day diet as much as possible. Although I don’t think I could ever be fully raw, like…everrrr, I like the idea of its principles sometimes:) part-time. Lol
Nary Dairy is produced by a husband/wife team out of the Chefs Center in Pasadena, offering the “The cream of the Non-Dairy crop” with plenty of delicious cashew cheese flavors to choose from. It’s seriously a nice alternative! Loving them!
I’ve been throwing in a small beet in my morning juices, so I bought a bunch this morning to stock up. Anyway, you know the green leaves coming out of the beet? Well, I used to always cut that bit off, and toss it. Wtf. I guess I just thought it was good for nothin’. Poor beet greens, so misunderstood:(
WellllllI….I finally found a way to not let any of it go to waste! And guess what!? It’s the bommmmbbbbbb!
- 2-3 big bunches Beet greens with some stem(washed thoroughy)
- 2 whole galic cloves
- 1 large Shallot
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp sherry vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp organic honey or a few drops stevia
- 1-2 tsp sesame seeds ( as desired)
- salt & pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes
- Rinse beet greens very well.
- In a medium skillet or wok, heat 1 tbsp coconut oil on low-med heat.
- *Add thinly sliced shallot. Sautee until soft.
- *Add clean beet greans.
- *Salt, Pepper, & spicy pepper NOW.
- *Raise temp to Medium.
- *Add water, honey, and vinegar, and sautee for 5-7 minutes.
- *Add garlic last.
- *Once sauteed to desired softness, stir in sesame seeds.
Today’s WOD was GPP FITNESS, Cardio Tababta.
Lets just say…it was gnarly. I did this at home before heading out for the day, and because I don’t have a row machine, I subbed that move for back rows with a theraband. Try this one out, it’s awesome! 8 rounds of each move for 20 sec work/ 10 sec rest.
If you don’t know what a move is. Don’t worry. On their site, you can click on the excessive, and it immediately takes you to YouTube, where everything is explained to you very quick and efficiently.

Time to relax:) Mom and Pop picked me up, and we headed to Santa Monica to celebrate this pretty’s 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!! My baby cousin Emma:) she’s perfect!
We took Wilbur, and all hung out at the park. Everyone was out. Love it. We BBQed and enjoyed fun and laughs. Um, I ate a lot today, oh, and I had cake. There! Lol. ( Making up for it tomorrow)

New fitness fave… COREPOWER YOGA.
I got really into while in Canada, so when I got back, I decided to give them a try. They are just a few blocks from my house, they’ve got studios everywhere. It’s mostly heated yoga, but offer non heated as well, and have amazing hours. I’m takin’ from 6:00 am to 9:00 p.m. I’ve been going probably 3 times a week, and feel incredible.
As a new student, they offer 1 week free as a trail.
Ok, sooooo….I was supposed to quit my addiction to sugar free gum….but I decided to quit quitting….
I died and went to heaven when I saw this new flavor at target. Saw it…bought it…chewed it…loved it. The struggle is real.
Ahhhh, well that does it. As my fab Sunday comes to an end…. I now am headed to get an hour massage at Foot Inspiration, and then back home to start thinking up some new Zumba routines for my babes!

Helooooo..helllllllllooooooo! I’m back! Just feeling like I’m finally getting back into my groove and this week has started off AMAZING! My house is still a bit messy, but hey. Whatever.
Started off the week full force at the gym and now a proud new member of COREPOWER yoga.
I’m really into it right now, and the best part…. It doesn’t irritate the tendonitis! Thank god. I used to loathe yoga, now…it’s the ONLY thing that makes me focus in every sense of the word. My breath…awareness in my body and allowing myself to truly understand how to clear my racing mind. So into it! I’ve been doing the heated fusion classes, but still really enjoy traditional and non-heated.
Anyway… I am feeling strong, and I’m enjoying my new practice and progress.
What are you guys into right now? Do you listen to your body?
My breakfasts lately have been incredible POG’s!!! that’s right.. (pots of greatness!) my Instagram friends inspire me to change it up constantly. 1- to stay excited about clean yummy foods and 2- especially to avoid binging eating.

I tried these for the first time at the Blend Retreat a couple months ago, and had a secret crush on them, particularly the new flavor. Neapolitan. Well maybe cuz that was my favorite ice cream flavor growing up. Seriously.

I don’t think it’s considered a meal replacement bar. For me, it’s a snack bar. Mid day, or after a workout in between meals.
It is actually low in sugar, but I’m not a huge fan of sugar alcohols. I used to not mind them, And I’m sure a lot of you also don’t, but lately, I’ve noticed that when I consume certain sugar alcohols, I get gassy, and bloated. Not cute.

It’s official! It’s SUMMER!!! With 4th of July behind us now, it doesn’t mean getting bikini body ready is out the window!!!! Welcome to ROMAN Salon. Amy and I go way back. We went to hair school together and have been by each others side ever since. We’ve worked together…even lived together, so when Roman Salon announced their beauty blogger event, you best believe I was was expecting an invite! Lol
This quaint but modern salon is nestled in between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. On La Cienega blvd to be exact. It’s EFFIN CUTE! I thought the event was a great way for people to get to know the staff, and check out all that they had to offer as a team. I grabbed a glass of sparkling wine, and found myself in awe of their gorgeous back patio space.

Ok not gonna lie…. I am a confessed sunworshiper, and have been all my life. If you ask Amy, she’ll tell you the same. In our younger years, we obsessed over who had the better “dirty face” tan. I know….gross. I even worked at at tanning salon when I was 16 to pretty much get free tans, cuz trust me, they weren’t payin’ me much. I mean….you get the idea. I love being a brown doggy. Lol
Well, as we get older….maybe notttttttt the best idea, huh? As grown women, we all now have to be uber careful of damaging uv lights, sun spots ( hyper pigmentation) cancer, ugh. All of these are dangerous, and age us like nobodies business. Ew.
Clearly, now with new ridiculous technology and brainiacs…we can now be perfectly tan without all the harm.
I was weary of spray tans after seeing friends walk out of random tanning salons looking like umpa-lumpas, and would always go ” um, yeah…no thanks.”
They were going into machines, rubbing some lotion on their hands and feet to avoid ” staining” and spinning around inside while this machine sprayed carrot colored pigment un-evenly across your body. Gooooooood lord. Well, we’ve come along way!
Not only do spray tans get applied by a professional now, it is absolutely customized to your body shape, color, pigment, all of it. It’s absolutely amazing. The days of looking like streaky mess are over. I sat down with Amy to get the rundown of this new and organic product, and for y’all to get to know her a bit;)
FF2F: How long have you been at Roman Salon?
Amy: I have been at Roman Salon for three and a half years, and have been working in this industry now for about ten years.
FF2F: What do you specialize in?
Amy: I have been a stylist, specializing in hair cutting for the entirety of my career. My newest beauty venture is custom organic airbrush tanning.
FF2F: Appts only or walk in’s welcome?
Amy: Walk ins are welcomed! But an appointment is recommended if there’s a specific time or day you like.
FF2F: Tell me a bit about these products you use for organic spray tanning? And how do they compare to other products out?
Amy: Because, like almost everyone, I’ve had a bad faux tan before, I did a ton of research before choosing a product to use, and I am absolutely in love with this solution! Most importantly, I wanted the most natural product I could find… this one is organic, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan, so it’s great for those with sensitivities. Every tan is custom blended to compliment each persons unique skin tone and desire tan depth, meaning we can give you anything from the most subtle hint of color, to back-from-vacation bronzed! Airbrush tanning should not be a one-color-fits-all situation, which I had found most of the time. Also, the bronzing agent in the solution is very subtle, and my clients love that they can go about their day, or sneak back to work, without looking crazy brown and having to hide at home until it’s time to shower.
FF2F: How long will my tan last?
Amy: Expect your tan to last at least one week.
FF2F: Will it stain my clothes?
Amy: It won’t stain clothes, but I always advise clients to come in with loose, dark fitting clothing, and flip flops because there is a slight tint to the solution. And if you like to tan with undies one, choose black ones.
FF2F: Should I exfoliate before my session?
Amy: Yes! A thorough exfoliation from face down to the feet will ensure that your glow lasts as long as possible, and wears off evenly. Come to your session without lotions or oils on your skin, and makeup and deodorant free if possible.
FF2f: What are the advantages to a person “customizing” your tan as opposed to the spray tan machine alternative?
Amy: It’s a night and day difference! I have always found those machines to produce a super orange-y fake color, and they always seem to stain the cuticles and feet/heels. That’s the dead giveaway! The style in which I spray my clients replicates the way in which the sun would tan you: subtly darker in areas like tops of arms, shoulders, back, tummy, legs, and slightly lighter on hands, feet, face, neck… This assures you never look “dipped” in color!
FF2F: What is the cost per session? How often should I come in to keep up that “summer glow”?
Amy: A tanning session is $55. I also offer some partials: $35 for Upper or Lower Body, and $25 for Face/Neck/Chest. If you’d like to maintain a tan, come about every week and a half. I find clients love to come right before a wedding, special event, or vacation. Also, join us for Happy Hour every Thursday evening from 3-7, for $40 full body tans!

When doing my research on this product, I came to realize how much our food system has changed! If you look at labels now, it’s hard to find products that don’t contain any soy, or high fructose corn syrup, and that all started as a way for manufactures to cut costs immensely. All that crap is cheap, and you DON’T need that in your body. Unfortunately a lot of these sports driven foods, like protein powders and supplements have a lot of these toxic fillers. YUCK!

The thing with “French Vanilla Protein Powder” is that they all sort of taste the same to me. I like to switch up brands to see if I feel a difference between different “qualities” rather than “flavor. What I’m trying to say is,that you can tell this particular protein is better in quality.
The great thing about purchasing “Vanilla” is that, it can be used in sooooo many ways. You get your monies worth. It’s got more of a subtle taste compared to some of the other flavors. It’s easy to mask the vanilla flavor a bit, not so much with chocolate or strawberry.
On this particular morning….I was having a gnarly craving for protein pancakes.
Since I’ve been knocking out my GPP Fitness workouts first thing in the morning, I am starved and my muscles are craving protein by the time the clock strikes 7:00 AM. LOL.
This would be the perfect time to sample my French Vanilla APS Protein in baking!
BLUEBERRY PROTEIN CAKES

THAT WOULD BE THE BOMB!
Anyway, check out these ad boys!
They are not quite as thick as pancakes, they are a bit thinner, so they won’t feel heavy in your belly.
I topped mine with a bit of Nature’s Hollow (sugar free) honey, sprinkled with hemp seeds, and a dollop of nut butter.
Play around with this…top with different fruits, seeds, and yogurts.This is a great staple recipe. Try it with different flavor protein powders.
- 1 packet / 1 serving APS French Vanilla Grass Fed Whey Protein
- ½ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of cinnamon
- ½ cup egg whites
- A handful frozen (prefer organic) blueberries.
- In a bowl, mix dry ingredients first, making sure to really work in that baking powder (it tends to clump)
- Add egg whites and mix well.
- A hand mixer is ideal to remove all chunks, but if you’ve only got a whisk, then whisk away!
- Fold blueberries in last.
- Grease a small skillet, spoon in batter.
- **Please note, that the batter consistency is quite liquidy, so they do expand. Using a small skillet keeps them the right shape.
- **Also don’t pour too much batter at once.
- MAKES 3 HOTCAKES.
PROATS (PROTEIN OATS)
Another GREAT way to add APS French Vanilla Protein is to add it to your oats! Yes..I call them PROATS. Don’t judge. It’s what they’re called in the gym world. Get into it.
Oats are great for you. If you’re gonna eat carbs…eat oats. They are a fab source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and are very low in fat. Although good for you, they can really get boring. And…frankly, I won’t be adding sugar, raisins, and whole milk to them any time soon, so this is my delicious alternative.
If you thought healthy and protein rich oats would be bland and not phenominal….think again. This recipe (below) will teach you a thing or two about how it should be done. You FITCHICK you;)
- ½ cup oats (old fashioned,plain)
- 1 packet/1 serving APS French Vanilla Grass Fed Protein
- ¾ cup water
- ¾ cup Unsweetened almond milk (I LOVE this one)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ⅓ cup egg whites
- * Psyllium husks (for added fiber)
- * A few drops stevia if you like a bit sweeter. Taste as you go!
- * Chia seeps sprinkled on top
- * A tbsp of your favorite nut butter. ( I LOVE this one)
- In a bowl, mix ½ cup oats and APS protein powder. Add boiling ¾ cup water.
- Stir well.
- Now, add ¾ cup Almond milk, stir and microwave for an extra 40 seconds.
- Add egg whites, and microwave for another 40 seconds- 1 minute.
- Add in cinammon and any other optional ingrediets!
Again, I used the french vanilla whey in this recipe, but do not hesitate to switch it up. Chocolate would be great as well, add a lil stevia, a tbsp of cacao powder, and throw in some cacao nibs and VIOLA!
Ok, sooooo….. this one’s gonna knock your socks off! Let me tell you, I LOVVVEEEEEE CHOCOCLATE!!!! If I could have it morning, noon, and night….I WOULD. For real.I’ve tries a few different chocolate WHEY proteins, but this one is by far the smoothest, lightest, and NON-grainy. Probably due to their high grade ingredients. I’m telling you people!!!!! Do your research! The reason why I liked it better, was that it wasn’t so sweet! I’ve had some issues with some of the chocolate protein powders being over the top sweet. No thanks. I can add stevia if I want it a bit sweeter, you know.
The recipe I’m about to share with you is something you can whip up in merely 12 minutes! Yes, that includes the baking time;)
I make it a priority to make these fun, yummy treats for myself because I deserve them;) Plus, I want to have something really AMAZING tasting, that is healthy for me, not something that is gonna jeopardize my hard work everyday at the gym, training at home, or my dancing. I want results.
So, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. (really loud this time) “YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CAKE & EAT IT TOO!”
SINGLE SERVING CHOCOLATE PROTEIN CAKE
You’re gonna wanna jump through the screen, and make out with me after you try this cake!! Ekkkkkkkk, its soooo yummy!
I tried the Bavarian chocolate in a shake, but I wanted to get down on some baking with it, so this is what I got!
Pretty standard single serving protein cake, but it won’t ever get old.
- ½ cup APS Bavarian Chocolate Grass Fed Whey
- 2 tbsp 100% cacao powder
- ¾ cup egg whites
- ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 tbsp 100% cacao nibs
- 3 drops stevia (if you like it a bit sweeter)
- In a bowl, mix dry ingredients first.
- Then add egg whites and almond milk.
- (add a few drops stevia if you would like)
- Mix very well!
- Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
With this recipe, be mindful of over cooking. Check it at 8 mins, but for sure out by 10 minutes. It should be soft and moist. If you don’t get it the first time, don’t fret, most likely your oven runs a bit hot. Keep making it and playing arund with this, cuz it’s sooo worth it;)
** I topped mine with some raw cacao nibs, which did I mention, are natures’ #1 antioxidant. Yep.
* 1 tbsp nut butter
*0% greek yogurt
* Sugar free honey/syrup
* 1/2 tsp coconut oil or ghee (especially if you dried it out a bit)

Since I was a little girl…(here we go) lol…I have been strawberry obsessed! Fresh strawberries, Strawberry ice cream, Strawberry paletas, strawberry milk, it keeps going. You catch my drift. I’m just gonna go ahead and say…I’m pretty much a STRAWBERRY connoisseur. I’m not surprised that I left this for last!
ok, so here’s the deal. The last Strawberry protein that I tries was About Time Whey protein. It was really damn good! So I was curious to see how this one would match up. In shakes, I prefer the About Time…In baking or other stuff…I way prefer APS Grass Fed. Now, this is strictly on flavor…..As far as ingredients and supplements, I think APS is a bit better quality, most likely why it probably tastes more natural, but About Time has less sugar and carbs. Only by a few, not a huge difference, but you choose;)

MINI STRAWBERRY PROTEIN MUFFINS

The strawberry flavor is just the perfect amount and not too sweet. They are delicious. This recipe made 9 minis, I’ve scarfed down 5 already today….I feel no remorse. lol. Only LOVE!

For NET carbs, Minus the fiber from the carbs to calculate NET CARBS. Carbs from fiber do not affect blood sugar levels, like carbs that aren’t from fiber.
- 1 serving Strawberry Creme APS Grass Fed whey Protein
- 1 tbsp unsweetened/reduced fat shredded coconut
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp coconut flour
- ½ ripe banana
- 5 egg whites
- ¼ cup 0% Chobani (nonfat yogurt)
- 2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- YOGURT SWIRL:
- 0% Chobani
- 4 drops stevia
- ½ tsp organic vanilla bean powder (u could also use any vanilla flavoring)
- In a medium size bowl, mix all dry ingredients first. Protein, coconut flakes, baking powder, and coconut flour.
- Add egg whites, chobani, and almond milk and ½ ripe mashed banana.
- Put in blender or use hand mixer to thoroughly mix batter.
- Chop up 3-4 washed strawberries and FOLD into batter last.
- Grease your mini-muffin pan. I used a 12 mini muffin pan. You can also make regular sized muffins, you just may have to alter the time)
- Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
- (MAKES 9 MINI MUFFINS)
- YOGURT TOPPING:
- with a hand mixer whip the yogurt, stevia, and vanilla until smooth.
- place the whipped topping in a pipping bag and swirl on top of muffins. (you could also use a plastic baggie, and make a small hole in the corner to pipe the yogurt swirl.)
- top with fresh strawberries.
Aren’t they the cutest things ever! Have these made and finished in 20 minutes! I made mine with some shredded coconut for that nutty flavor, but you are more than welcome to omit that step.
Wow…..now that I’ve consumed enough protein powder to haul a semi-truck on my back…..I think my job is done. LOL. that was so fun. Thanks All Pro Science for sharing your product for further review!

I arrived at the Fairmont Miramar hotel on Ocean dr, and made my was through the gorgeous grounds to the spa. They directed me to the rooftop where I would be taking my first ever Core Fusion class! Yes, on the rooftop, in the open air. Absolutely stunning 360 views. I may be able to do this everyday, well, if I could afford it
I arrived upstairs a bit early so, of course…snuck in a lil Gym selfie

Since I was 30 min early, I did a quick bi & tri workout before heading out to the patio for my 5:10 pm class.
The sun was out, but it wasn’t too hot. Just right. I’ve never taken a workout class that required sunglasses, but hell, I’ll roll with it. Especially if you throw in a DJ to pump out jams while you work out! I’ve tried every kind of work workout you could imagine, but never a Core Fusion class.
The premise of the class focuses on core strength to create the ultimate full body workout. In this class we only used weights, but it’s ever changing. You may find yourself using weights, balls, bands, and your own body weight as resistance. The key to this regimen is the raise the heart rate to a point where you will continue to burn calories long after the class is Done.
A total of one hour, and trust me, by the end of it you are shakin’ in your boots! I was already super sore from my GPP workouts this past weekend, so I was dying.
After class, I headed down to the courtyard for the event. I was very impressed at how well the event was organized.
We received some pretty fab gift bags with loads of goodies. Who doesn’t love swag!??? Thanks to everyone who hooked it up;) I was so happy to see the line up of contributors and vendors for this event as well. First off, one being one of my favorite alcohol lines “VEEV” One of the owners of the company happens to be a client of the salon, and couldn’t be sweeter, so I am happy to support. I’m not a huge hard alcohol lover, but this new line has got me hooked. I mean, not like alcoholic hooked, but you know what I mean. Lol.

When Women’s Health Magazine contacted me about seeing if I was interested in speaking with one of the Next Fitness Stars, Kit Rich, I jumped at the opportunity! This is going to be huge y’all! It’s about time we developed a competition like this. After I’m sure, a ridiculous number of contestants signed up, auditioned, and sent videos, only five finalist were chosen. Once chosen will be flown to New York City where they will star in a video short showcasing their workout and participate in a photo shoot to appear on the “flip” cover of the July/August issue of Women’s Health. Videos will be posted online for readers and fans to vote on their favorite finalist and also sent to our celebrity panel to judge their top finalist. The overall winner will be selected based on a combination of reader/fan votes and celeb judge votes.

I was excited for the chance to sit and chat with her, because in doing my research I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I knew that she was pilates based, had a big celebrity clientele, and was highly sought after, but, after what seemed like,” just a couple of Amigas chattin’”, I realized, there was much more to her and her vision of what’s to come in fitness.
This girl couldn’t have been more sweet or real. She was on point and didn’t skip a bit. I like that. She answered all of my questions with no hesitation and with complete confidence in the direction she was going. I sat down with her, and the first thing she says to me is ” It’s so great to me you, From Fries to Fit huh?, tell me a bit about you and where that came from?!” I mean, I love her! I really appreciated that, she really made me feel like there was absolutely nothing else she’d rather be doing at that moment then talking to me. Trust me, there was craziness going on around us, so it was a bit loud;)
This girl is headed to the TOP! She has an amazing sense of self and body awareness. In speaking to her, I realized we had a lot in common. Actually, thinking about it now, a lot of women will be able to relate to her.
How long have you been in the Fitness/ Pilates industry, and how did you get into it?
My story was not some crazy ” I used to be so fat, now I’m so skinny” story. My story started 9 years ago, very humbly, with a bad case of body dysmorphic disorder, and wanting nothing more in life but to gain a better sense of my body and myself. I started taking some Pilates classes, getting better and better, and one days, things just clicked for me. I knew that this was what I needed to be doing. Fitness was gonna be my life and career. I got certified and began teaching classes, and quickly gained a super loyal clientele. Now I mostly focus on teaching privately.
What drives you as a trainer? How do you find the motivation?
Look, to me, it’s not just about ” get fit, loose weight, work, work” that’s all great, but.. Jillian Michaels has that market on tap. My main focus, with what I do with my clients, and what I’m trying to get out there, is this:
How did we get ourselves here?
Why did we allow ourselves to work for fitness rather than making fitness work for us?
I think it’s about self awareness, using the tools that each one of us has, but doesn’t always use, and using those internal tools to create motivation and balance in workouts, and in life. The less you stress, the more you can feel your best. I create workouts that are effective, target your entire body, and help you find your own motivational tools to want to push yourself to do it better next time.
Did you ever expect to be “The Next Fitness Star” finalist “?
I know! Crazy, right!? You know, 3 years ago, I auditioned on Oprah’s OWN network casting for “The Next TV Star” and made it to the top 20, but didn’t make it to the top. It must have been meant to be that now, we are sitting here, and I’m in the top 5 for “The Next Fitness Star” I feel honored, this is where I should be.
Kit, tell us…..any secret fat burning tips?
Really, it’s no secret at all. — If your diet contains less energy than your body expends, you will lose weight. In other words, It’s about what you are putting in your body and how much of it, in relation to how much you are physically working your body to expend the calories you just consumed. I believe in 80/20. Moderation is key, and we must work, everyday, to ensure that balance stays in tact. Self control and motivation will drive you to that lifestyle.
What can we expect from Kit Rich in the future? Where do you see yourself and company in the next 5-10 years?
It’s just the beginning, and I couldn’t be more excited! I see books, DVD’s, camps, shows. All of it. I’m here to change the way we see fitness and ourselves. I want to help people look their best while becoming the best they can be inside. The future is bright, that’s for sure!
When I finished my interview, I spotted these cute gals with some amazing workout gear I had never seen before. As I went through their rack of super cute digs, I chatted with the girls to get a bit of background on Strut This fitness wear. First of all, it’s a mother-daughter run and owned business, which I love. I’m all about supporting local and small businesses, you know that. Especially, if I’m loving their product.
The material is to die for, and super soft. You can really tell, they didn’t cut corners here.

The guys at New York Superfoods create products for active individuals with all natural, gluten free Superfoods. No, they did not ask me to review them, this is just what I do sometimes. You need to know what’s out there, especially if I you are into health and fitness. Stay educated on products in the market that we can utilize to enhance life and performance. Plus, who doesn’t love CHIA?!
I considered today, a special Wednesday. You know why? Cuz I got back from Utah with soooo much swag to try! Woohoo!
I tried my first scoop of Fit mixer today for much needed energy. It was pretty great! I liked that there weren’t any artificial ingredients, and that it truly felt good in my body. It also contains natural colors and flavors from beets, strawberries, and coconuts, and is naturally energizing due to its main ingredients of Palatinose and green tea and green coffee extracts. I was on fire today, and actually burned 40 more cals than I have been lately:) Maybe it’s because This stuff contains Raspberry Ketones to help you burn fat quickly while maintaining energy levels throughout your workout*. It also delivers Palatinose, a slow-burning carbohydrate designed to support sustained energy throughout the day
I’m gonna keep it up and see how it works out for me. We’ll see. Curious to try their other products.
Another product I tried today ( 2 hrs before teaching) was Shroom Tech by Onnit. I’m usually quite weary about changing around my supplements. I honestly usually just stick to CLA, green tea, protein, and an energizing mixer per-workout, but, since hearing a lot of buzz about this company, and once chatting with them at the retreat this past weekend, I was very interested. Today was my first day, so I’ll have to revisit this product & review once I start becoming more aware of how my body is being effected.

I, no surprise, am like a starting child after class, so I made sure to pack one of my homemade blueberry protein shakes to take with me. I swear, if I try are run around town after class, and don’t put anything in my belly, I will start to convulse. Hardly, but vey O-so very shaky. Not cute. This holds me over and tastes like a dessert;)
Vanilla Blueberry Protein Shake:
1 scoop About Time Vanilla whey protein.
1 cup 30 calorie unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk by SILK.
2 heaping tbsp of 0% CHOBANI Greek yogurt
1/4-1/2 cup organic frozen or fresh blueberries
4 drops NuNaturals stevia extract drops
2 drops of vanilla extract
3 ice cubes
1 tbsp chia seeds

I had lunch with a girlfriend at this AMAZING Place in North Hollywood called HealthyCA.
This place is a total hidden gem! It’s mostly a catering place I think, cuz the actual restaurant portion is tiny. They can really only seat a handful of peeps there, so your best bet is to walk in, order at the counter, and ask for it to go. Te pics say it all. We couldn’t quite make up our minds as to what each one of us wanted, so we opted to split each entree. I like to share and try everything;)
I mean, seriously. I kinda want to make it a ritual of going there every Wednesday, and calling it a “treat meal” cuz it ain’t no ” cheat meal” that’s for sure. It couldn’t get more, CLEAN, ORGANIC AND GLUTEN FREE. Finally….NAILS. I got a proper mani/pedi and enjoyed every bit of it. I was getting GEL nails, but decided to give my lil nails a break. Plus, I can’t help but get a bit freaked by those uv lamps they make you stick your hands under. Can’t be good after a while. I would always forget to put sunscreen in my bag:( I used to do the spa chairs, until one of my friends got fuckin’ mersa ( flesh eating bacteria in her toe) from the bowl not properly being disinfected. Hell no, I’ll stick to the disposable plastic tub inserts. Byeeee

Maybe one of my favorite days of the week… I started off having a wonderful mbreakfast outdoors at Aroma tea and coffee, located in quaint Tujunga village, Studio City. To my honestly, there is nothing better than having a really great meal while sitting outside. I take people watching verrrrrrry seriously.
The menu is VAST, I opted for the lighter fare. I wanted everything that damn place had to offer, an AMAZING clean menu. I went for a powerhouse breakfast that consisted of…tender charbroiled chicken breast, fluffy egg whites, with a side of 9 grain toast, and freaks fruit. It was heaven on a platttttttta!
Enjoyed an iced coffee with unsweetened almond milk, and a bit of stevia. Most restaurants only have Splenda as an alternative, but yes, I DO carry around a lil dropper bottle of stevia with me…in my purse…everywhere that I go. Don’t judge. I ate that breakfast like it was my J.O.B. I put in werrrrk. Yum-MY!
Oh, and please do excuse my tired eyes, apparently didn’t realized I was gonna be in the “food” shot. Lol
Meet Diego…. The bulldog of all bulldogs. Such a cutie;) he’s ready for Monday Funday! For now, he’s just tied up to my chair, sniffin around, lookin’ allllll cute n’ shit. Lol;)
And so we we drove…..
Ended up at Malibu State Park for a late morning hike. It was a stunning view, although, I didn’t expect it to be that dry out. I still think we went the wrong way. Someone told me I should have seen a creek and swim hole…yeah, never once saw a drop of water, and Diego’s paws were getting RAW from the heat. Last thing on earth you want happening…. A bulldog overheating. Probably a bad idea seeing that it was 105 degrees out. Dumbass.com. Poor baby was seeking shelter under trees for signs of shade. After 15 min we turned around, and said ” I think it’s time for the beach.”
Here comes the babe….
Headed north on the PCH, looking for a signs of “dog beach”, which technically…there are none. S annoying. We ended up at Leo Carrillo. Apparently, the further north you travel up the coast, the more lenient on dogs being allowed onto the sand. Who knew….
I wish willy could’ve been there, but he stayed at my parents house, cuz I knew I was leaving outta town, and wouldn’t have been able to drop him off any other day. ( they don’t live around the corner, you see..) SADFACE. He would have loved it. I OWE him:)
It was a bit windy, but sunny and perfect. The waves, super cute in size. Actually we were able to catch some kids RIPPING! love watching surfers. The running around didn’t stop there, oh yes, the fun continued;) met up with some friends at The Parlor in Hollywood for some sports watchin’ and margarita drinkin’;) skinny of course;)

I took Sandy’s super packed ZUMBA class tonight, and to all of our surprise……
Studio City Lululemon suprised her at the end of class with ” WILL YOU BE OUR AMBASSADOR!???? WTF!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh. We were all freaked out, amazed, happy, emotional, all of it.
She is an absolute mentor, and inspires me everyday, as well as soooo many others. What an honor! We love you Sandy! W were all sweaty, and disgusting…crying all over the place, lol. Such chicks! Get ready for SCFITNESS to come with it!
Tonight’s class was on FIRE! 35 of us dancing our booties off, and I swear to you, I’ve NEVER sweat that much in my life. Literally, my soaked ponytail was whipping sweat onto everyone behind me. Ugh, I’m sorry girls. Good thing, was we were all that way. Lol.

I don’t understand why people hate Mondays, and why they say ” I’ve got a case of the Mondays” ew. What’s that about. Ok, maybe it’s cuz I’ve got it off, but still. Mondays are statistically shown to be the best day to better yourself, your life, your decision making, etc, all of it. Have you never said ” I’m soooo starting on Monday, I swear!!” Lol, well, in my case, I started last Monday:) of course, I start something new everymonday. For example, today, I started adding super greens to my sports drinks. I’m just full of “new” whatever.
As you all know, Mondays are typically the meal prep day for me. So this post will prrrrrrety much be focused on food. Ok with y’all? I thought so;)
Since starting the 50 CLEAN EATS/ NO CHEATS I have felt nothing short of AMZING! If you haven’t already started following me on instagram, do soooooo! Listen, I’m not forcing you to do 50 days, shit, do 30 days, whatever. The point is to Challenge yourself to make the effort and change your body. Cheating on your clean plan can add up. This challenge is to make ourselves aware of what we are consuming and to to check in with our bodies and see how they are changing because of it. You can start this whenever you want. Ok, really…..GET. ON.IT. You’re worth it, stop waiting around. I’ve been posting all of of my fitfriends as well as my recipes and clean eats to inspire all of us. So far, 7 days down, 43 to go. Jump on whenever you’re ready;)
Anyway, for myself, I’ve decided to go 60% raw. I absolutely love a lot of the principles of keeping a raw diet, but honestly, with the amount of working out I do, I need my protein, and hell, I like hot food. Soooooo, 60% will do:) so here it goes, I busted out my huge ass commercial dehydrator, and started making snacks for the week. I love this thing. Think of it as a slow cooker x10. The idea is to dehydrate foods at such a temperature that will NOT remove the essential enzymes, and nutrients. This temperature is anything 115 degrees or lower, so clearly, at this temp, shit takes a lonnnnng time to “cook” planning ahead is key.
I was recently hangin with a friend who is about 85% raw, and he hooked it up with this fab recipe.
It’s the bomb.
Go ahead print yourself this ridiculous AMAZEBALLZ recipe;)
- 2 large zucchinis or 3 medium
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil, or any raw pressed oil
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp sea salt
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 3 tbs flax meal
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- st, cut zucchini in ½, then cut your strips. Remember: once dehydrated they do shrink up quite a bit, so don’t make them shoe string fries:) unless you want to of course, then go ahead with your bad self!:)
- Place in a bowl, add all wet ingredients and toss well.
- Add dry ingredients and toss well.
- Space them out evenly on the dehydrator trays.
- Dehydrate first at 140 degrees for 30 min, then reduce to 110 degrees for 8-10 hours. leave in longer if seeking crispier, but make sure to check.
And for the HOT food:
Meal prep Mondays consists mostly of proteins & veggies.
This next part: SOOOO EASY. No recipe needed.
-A bag of frozen skinny green beans from Trader Joes. I believe they’re called ” haricots verts” I mean, really…. They’re green beans. Lol
-Thinly sliced mushrooms
– Bean sprouts ( laaaaavvvvvv these)
-Salt & pepper
-crushed garlic ( like it’s your J.O.B) I like a lot;)
-cayenne pepper( fo that spice!)
-optional: sprinkle sesame seeds
This will last me all week as a side to my protein. I even add this mix to my morning egg whites. Get into it. Super healthy and yummy.com.
I’m over red meat right now…. All I crave I swear, is SALMON! Super high in omegas and protein, it’s the ultimate when trying to keep a lean machine figure. Yes, I’m trying to make myself a lean machine. Salmon is considered a superfood. I baked 3 large fillets of wild Alaskan salmon with a very simple marinade,
-Salt & pepper
-A dash of blood orange infused olive oil
Salmon only really needs to be marinated for 30 or less. It eats up flavor quick. Please don’t try to marinate for longer, unless you’re ready to eat ceviche. C’mon babes.
I threw in some broccoli…why not. It add color:)
Oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and you’re done! Viola!

RAW CHOCOLATE AVOCADO PUDDING
Make sure you pick avocados that are ripe and ready for that super smooth consistency.
We’re not making guacamole here babes.
I meeeeeaaaan…… Hiiiiiiii. Isn’t she something! Topped it off with some raw cacao nibs and served cold. Soooo yummy. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do
- 2 ripe avocados
- ⅓ cup RAW organic cacao powder
- ¼ cup RAW honey (or if worried about sugar/carbs use sweetener of your choice. I love natures hollow for sugar free option)
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk. I made my own raw nut milk, but you can use organic flax or almond milk.
- 1½ tsp raw vanilla bean paste. or if not worried about being raw, extract is fine.
- Mix all ingredients, and blend in a medium bowl with food processor, vitamix or hand mixer.
- Serve chilled.

Every week that I do my shopping, I make it a point to try something new and amazing that I MUST share with you. I am a little bit Whole Foods obsessed. These are my reviews and I have not been paid to do so. I’m bringing you the scoop on what I think is worth the cost.
Wile in Ojai last weekend, we stopped at this super cute local market that carried all sorts of super healthy, small business products.
When I saw this cereal, I nearly fell to the ground. Ooooommmmmgggggg PROTEIN CEREAL! Hell yes, how many can I buy before looking like a freak.
I’ve been having a single serving a day. It’s so yummy. Tastes just like apple cinnamon Cheerios. I know, bomb!
I actually love to eat my daily serving before a ZUMBA class. It’s not heavy on the tummy and is the perfect balance of protein, carbs, fiber, and fats. A cup a day, keeps the doc away;)
Ok, out of all of these products I’ve found, this is by far the most effective and AMAZING!

I have been taking one everyday for a week and my digestion has been on point! probiotics are beneficial bacteria which help regulate intestinal health, supports immune system functions, and improves digestion.

The Incan superfood! I did some research on this medicinal product and was astonished at how much it can help us all.
