    I don’t know what the hell has come over me. I have had a serious case of writers block or, frankly…laziness the pastcouple weeks. womp wompppppp. I mean, I’ve been working out and cooking, but have been totally neglecting you all.

    Ugh, my lack of blogging has become out right embarrassing. lol.

    Anyway, today, Thursday morning at 6:00 A.M. I have finally busted out my old ass Macbook Pro and sat at my desk to bring you a very much awaited post. I’ve been dying to post this YUMMMMYYY ass recipe Of….wait for it…..





     I was stoked to receive a great package from Mamma Chia to try out and to share my opinion. I am NOOOOOO stranger to the wonderful benefits of chia seeds. Let me tell you. I’ve always LOVED a great chia pudding! In one tablespoon of chia you will consume 2,430 mg Omega-3s, 4 grams fiber, 3 grams complete protein, and ONLY 60 calories!!!

    In wanting to try a new recipe, I started researching some of the blogs I follow for inspiration.



    I found the perfect recipe to share! This recipe is by my homegirl over at, and she killed it with this recipe for:


    I followed it pretty much to how she made it, and the results were incredible!!!! Just a few key ingredients, and you’ve got yourself a bowl of SUPERFOOD heaven!

    The recipe is listed above, but again:


    • 1/2 cup lite coconut milk
    • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    • 3/4 cup fresh ripe mango, diced
    • 2 tbsp chia seeds
    • 1 tbsp unsweetened reduced fat shredded coconut
    • 4-6 drops liquid stevia(or agave/honey to taste)


    1. In a bowl, add 2 tbsp CHIA seeds & Unsweetened Reduced Fat Shredded COCONUT
    2. Add your Light Coconut Milk (I used this one), and your Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. ( I use this one) & your sweetener of choice. I used my fave sugar free honey by Natures Hollow.
    3. Mix and beat with a fork and you will begin to notice the chia seeds and mix become gelatinous. THIS IS GOOD!
    4. Now, fold in your very ripe chunks of mango. 
    5. Place in fridge for and hr or two. WOWOWOWOWOWO!!!!

Chia seeds are super rich in Omega-3s, antioxidants, protein, and fiber.It contains calcium, manganese, and phosphorus, and is a great source of healthy omega-3 fats. As an added benefit, chia seeds can be eaten whole or milled, while flax seeds have to be ground before consumption in order to access their health benefits for example.     Stock Up On Omega-3 Chia seeds are packed with omega-3 fatty acids, with nearly five grams in a one-ounce serving. These fats are important for brain health. “There’s better conversion of omega 3s into the plasma or into the food than with flax seed,” said researcher Wayne Coates.

    Hey guys! Hope everyone enjoyed a fabulous weekend off! I had a super relaxing and fun weekend. Well, full of errands, but also full of fam and friends time:) got a couple if really great workouts in as well. That always makes me feel amazing. Sunday we did the Santa Monica Stairs, and today, I took a great barre class at Exhale in the gorgeous Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. Nice switch up from Sundays cardio. We smashed those stairs though, for real. My calves were begging for mercy in Barre today! Lol.
    Anyway, I I wanted to share with y’all a little review I did on some really fab new wines from Brancott Estate. I was asked to review them, #1: cuz you know this chick lovessss her vino, and #2: cuz it’s totally up all our alleys!!!

    Y’all know I love to find new and great ways to still enjoy these treats without being a cow, so I thought it would be appropriate, right!?!?

    Let me brake it down…

    Now…again, I have to tell you this, cuz I’m profeshhhhhh, but seriously, always bring you my true opinion.

    These wines are sooo perfect for this beautiful sunny weather we are having! They are not heavy on the alcohol, so you will not feel like a sack of rocks, but also very light and crisp. For me…there is nothing light a glass of chilled white in the warm weather!


    The first one I tried from my lil swag bag, was the Brancott Pinot Grigio.

    Clearly, this is a fun wine to enjoy with a girlfriend! I mean, you could also enjoy with the boyfriend..with fam…or at home alone like a creep too. Lol. I headed to my friend Jule’s house for some snacks and give this a go. We are both into clean eating and lighter fare, so this was our girls evening!


    Ook, so…the bottle seemed to have gone wayyyyy to fast. It was a warm night in the valley, and it was just what the doc ordered. Super crisp with a nice clean finish. It was delectable! Absolutely nothing heavy about this wine at all!
    In fact, Jules was even asking about getting a case for an upcoming party. What I loved, was that there was nothing complicated about it. Really can be paired with a lot! This particular Pinot Grigio captures wonderful floral notes, ripe apple and nashi pear & pure freshness. Full of taste and lighter in calories. (A freakin bonus!)


    The other gem that I tried was baby! The Sauvignon Blanc.

    Now this one…now this one was a family affair! We all had a bit with our Easter Argentinian BBQ;)
    Dad was “Grill Master” of course, and he neverrrrr lets down!

    Dinner consisted of:

    **SALAD (traditional oil/vinegar)





    YEP. That could could NOT get anymore Argentinian!

    The Sauvignon Blanc is definitely a a bit more full-flavored. Still very crisp but also a smooth finish. For upcoming info check into their facebook page and stay in the know!

    The recipes did look amazing…but we were all dying to hit up Mitsuwa (Japanese market) and pick up some really great looking sushi and sashimi fish!
    We went a little nuttzzoooo……

    I am a sushi fanatic!!!! Oh and making your own is soooo worth it! It’s definitely fun to do with friends. We were cracking up. Lol, and you for SURE can’t serve sushi without ice cold Japanese beer.


    Let me give you a little background on Kirin….
    Kirin is known in Japan and all over the world as beer at its purest because of its first-press brewing process and clean taste.
    • One of Japan’s oldest breweries, with a history dating back to 1888.

    • Japanese custom requires never filling your own glass and never letting another’s glass get completely empty.

    • In Japan, when everyone is ready to drink, they salute by saying “kanpai.”
    I just really love it. I ALWAYS order a Kirin light and a small cold sake (to share of course..)when it go out to my secret special sushi spots around town;)

    We went full out restaurant style! Ahhhhh I’m so proud of my sushi skills y’all! Hot damn! Looks so prefeshhh, right!? Haha

    But seriously…you need a super sharp knife. I was strugglin’ a bit.
    We even picked up some yuzukosho, which is a Japanese citrus chili paste, and pairs delicious with sushi & sashimi.
    At the table was also some, not so healthyspicy siracha mayo... Dassss right!

    Despite the word “pepper”, they are far from spicy. They are just right paired with this food and are super easy to prepare. A party fave no doubt.

    Also at the table…some jumbo shrimp sautéed in teriyaki sauce and lots of garlic, as well as traditional salted edamame.

    Not gonna lie…this May or may not be my calling.

    Everyone was in awe of the yummy spread. We ate till we couldn’t move and polished off the beers. Haha. Oh..and the sake. I was not surprised to see that everyone loved Kirin. I knew they would. I loveeeeeeee it too!;)

    Cheesy Vegan Cauliflower Steaks & try this pitcher TODAY!

    Hello lovely friends! Hope the week is going smooth sailin for all of you! Since being back from San Francisco, I’ve been laying low and trying to get back on track to clean eating and hard, intense workouts. I’m finally feeling back to normal and less heavy, lol! For those of you interested…my workouts have really changed lately….

    1: MORE CARDIO 30-50 mins 5x a week (med-hard + intervals)

    2: NOT AS HEAVY weight training

    3: using more BODY WEIGHT and less rest.


    5: 1-2 REST days

    For me…I really love tricking my body everyday and switching it up. This combo has really helped my body get back on track after my binge. Also been incorporating the NIKE TRAINING APP for more of a TOTAL BODY WORKOUT.
    Loving this! I must admit..the hardest part, is getting out of bed at 5:30 am to hit the gym .
    REMEMBER: The only workout you will regret…is the one you DIDIN’T do!

    Today is a short but sweet and yummy vegan post:) lol. Remember I said recently, that I wanted to start cutting out a lot of animal products ?? Well…I’ve been doing exactly that. I mean, no…I’m not going full on vegan or anything, but I gotta say y’all….. Since cutting out a lot of dairy and and meats, I’ve been feeling reallllllly GREAT! Definitely less bloated and lighter on my feet. I’m still always enjoying my egg whites (cage free of course) and occasional salmon and chicken. I just can’t totally cut it out. I enjoy it wayyyyyy to much.
    So, as an homage to all my VEGAN HOMIES…I’ve been playing around with my veggies, and came up with this super yummy “steak” lol. You know what I mean…;)

    This recipe is soooo easy! You will notice that there are no measurements. That’s because, all you do, is cut that shit up, then sprinkle all these things on my list and bake that shit. Top with some other stuff.. Blah blah. Sooooo easy and DELICIOUS.
    BTW…. did you know that cauliflower is the new kale!?!?
    Yup! The new superfood. It’s all the rage. Sure…it may cause a little gas…but I mean, shut up.

    quick note: make sure you buy A very large one;)
    OHHH and… You will probably only get 3 steaks out of it.. So just roast the rest (the pieces that fall) later. NO WASTING!


    Easy Cheesy Vegan Cauliflower Steaks
    Prep time: 
    Cook time: 
    Total time: 

    Serves: 3

    • 1 Lrg cauliflower : preferably organic and yellow:) You can make it with white cauli too;)
    • Coconut Oil spray (i bought the Trader Joe’s one) can also drizzle with EVOO. I did spray for less fat.
    • Season with Salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, Kernel Season’s Cheddar seasonings (NON vegan)
    • or..
    • Nutritional yeast for vegan. (adds great cheesy flavor)
    • Lissanatti “cheddar shreds” Almond Cheese
    • A dollop of Almond Dream PLAIN yogurt (vegan) or Chobani 0% greek yogurt for (NON vegan)
    • Chopped parsley

    1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Cut Thick slices of cauliflower and place on a greased baking sheet.
    3. Sprinkle with all your seasonings & spices. Flip over carefully and season other side as well.
    4. I like a bit of browning on both sides, so I generously spray the coconut oil.
    5. Bake for 15 minutes then…sprinkle your almond cheese over the top & continue to bake till golden and slightly browned and crispy for another 5-10 minutes. About 20-25 minutes total.
    6. Remove..let cool, and serve with a dollop of “yogurt” and chopped parsley

    Color tends to trick the eye…so it’s natural, bright yellow color makes me think I’ve got loads of cheese on it, when really, it’s just sprinkled;)

    As the season turns, and the sun starts beaming, I go into full blown summer vibe! All I want is fresh, FRESH fruit! Pineapple is the shit right now. I went nuts at whole foods! $ 2.99 EACH! I immediately threw 3 in my basket and ran home only to end up scarfing 1/2 a freakin whole one to myself. Gurrrrrl, byeeeeeee.
    I know, I know…..
    You know what?
    AIN’T nobaaaaaaady Eva get fat off eatin to much fruit! Okaaaaaayyyyyyy.

    So, anyway…….this is my typical daily serving… Lol.
    So…to sum things up…..
    Ok so, I wanted to share my new “Brita” replacement! I am a HUGE advocate of drinking water! I am also guilty at times for not hydrating my body enough, and I always regret it. The sweet folks over at Camelbak sent me over this awesome Relay filter system to give it a try. Hmmmm. I was like…”these things are all the same. Ok. Whatever. Send it. “

    Oh & testing results show 97% removal of chlorine, taste and odor. I’ve tried both the Brita and the Mavea. Both never seemed to quite get that metal and tap water taste out of it. Disappointing.

    Goood lordy I’ve been a bit MIA, I do apologize! Although I don’t have a recipe to share with y’all today, I DO have a fun post for you!;)
    If you don’t already know, a couple of my best girlfriends live in the heart of beautiful San Francisco, and I was in dyer need of a mini vacation;)
    So I arrived Friday early morning, by the way….SOOOO proud of myself for navigating my “awful sense of direction self ” though the BART system. phweeeeee! lol. Such a nervous dork….”um, excuse me sir…this way? Oh um, can you help me figure the ticket machine??” Bahahahaha wtf.

    Anyway…. I made it alive and managed to walk…with my luggage…all the way from my stop, to my girlfriends house. That was my workout for the whole 4 days. Woops. 😉

    Unfortunately this pic does not do this view justice. It looks gloomy out, but in reality it was sunny and high 60’s low 70’s the whole time. I am one lucky betch!


    Walking through the streets, yes…with my luggage (total tourist) a dropped everything to snap a pic of some gorgeous fresh flowers. Flowers are a weakness. Obsessed. So much variety, full of color, absolutely STUNNING!


    Omggggggg…now THAT’S a view babes! Over looking the bay on Telegraph Hill. My friends are blessed to wake up to this every morning. WOW.

    Cheers-ing to a fab day with a beautiful and crisp Rose by Donkey & Goat. Even if you think you are not a “rose” person, please give this a try. I soooooo enjoyed it!

    O, so this pic right here…prrrrrety much sums up all my faves at once. Well, I lied actually…that German Riesling (trader Joe’s ) not my fave…but otherwise, the view, the triple cream cheese, prosciutto, figs, and nuts…HOT DAMN! I swear I could eat that everyday. Every SINGLE FUCKIN DAY. oh…wait. I’m missing some dark chocolate. Lol

    OHHH yessss….and the drinking continues. (No shame)
    On this particular night, we decided to cook at home. Very gourmet daaaaaalinggggg.
    The cheese plate was our first course…. (In France..the cheese plate would actually be more for dessert paired perhaps with dessert wine) but here in the states….gimme that shit firrrrst! 😉

    This is such a great idea for a dinner party.. Super easy and everyone loves a great way to add variety and make some vegetarian, vegan, are carnivore! Helllllllllo.

    Paired with a bottle of Sorelle Bronca Prosecco. Super crisp and clean finish, with a very slight sweetness. Yummmmmmm

    Course #3:
    Pear/ Gorgonzola salad with chopped pecans and a lemon vinaigrette.
    Paired with: Manincor Réserve Della Contessa 2012. ( a delicious white blend of Pinot Bianco- Chardonnay- Sauvignon)

    Mixed seafood linguini pasta with a cream sauce. I mean…….

    I honestly can’t remember the last time I had real pasta ( non miracle noodles. Lol) Maybe like…fuckin yearssss ago.

    So I stuffed by biscuit ass into a mini black dress, and Nat & I hit the town! Woot woot!

    Had some great tapas at El Techo…oh…and that’s also a pitcher of grapefruit margarita… That May or may not have been the best idea.


    And this is when shit got weird….. Lol


    Headed to Nat’s favorite local bar and met up with some friends;) by last call…we almost got into a fight with the lady who wouldn’t let us use the pool table (cuz she kept winning, bitch) lol.
    Caught an Uber , and stumbled are way up the stairs to her building.


    Pretty safe to say…the next morning, was a bit rough. Lol. We had planned to go to a boot camp class at 9:30 am at the local StudioMix, but we decided that walking to breakfast would be a much better workout. Hangovers justify laziness.
    But hey, at least we have our workout clothes on…..


    After breakfast, we walked, & WaLkEd..& WALKED! Up and down loadz of hills, of course feeling better after some food. Nat took me allllll over the city. No joke. We were feelin grrrrreat! So, it’s 5 o’clock somewhererreeee! Maybe it was time to try out some local brewskis! Lol

    We stopped at Magnolia to try a super delicious Kalifornia Kölsch hand crafted and local beer. Not quite a shot glass, but not quite a pint. Just right.


    Oh yes, and the San Francisco FOOD TOUR continues…..
    We HADto hit up TARTINE of course. This was our lunch spot. TARTINE is one of SF’s most well known restaurants. Mostly famous for this ridiculous bread pudding. Omgggggg. Gimme gimme moreeeee.
    Here’s the problem…you walk up…you order…they hand you the dessert first, since it’s already prepared. Then, you go sit down with your number and wait for your actual lunch.
    Well… the next shot you will see what we ordered. But in the meantime, let’s talk about HOW THE FUCK YOU’RE GONNA MAKE ME STARE AT MY DESSERT WHILE STARVING WITH NO LUNCH IN FRONT OF ME!!!

    SO……we ate dessert before lunch. Bahahahahahaha.
    We of course ordered the bread pudding, and I just HAD to try the lemon bar. I LOVE anything lemon. I had to.
    So we both sat…moaned and ga-ga’d..(call it an orgasm) and devoured that shit. Wowowowowowow. It was so worth it, and people were staring. Then you see it…now you don’t.


    Lunch is served…. Holy grail of GRILLED CHEESE! The “cheese tasting” sandwich. 3 different melted cheeses inside a perfectly pressed and crusty panini. Served with a delicious pickled carrot, and a green salad. This is where I gained pound 5.


    We continued to walk and attempt to digest. This is what I appreciate most about this city. People are out..people walk everywhere..the art. Omg the STREET ART is just…OUT OF THIS WORLD. everywhere you look, vibrant splashes of color on the walls. Like real artists…not just all that gross tagging with sharpie shit you see all over LA.

    The day, unfortunately, was coming to an end. I had to be at the airport by six. Of course, our thoughts immediately went to, ” well, I mean…..we have to have a last meal!”

    Jesus. Here it comes.

    DELFINA. There are no words.
    Appetizer….bomb mussels.

    Main course…. Broccoli Raab pizza.

    Dessert…. Almond brittle gelato & blood orange sorbet.
    Seriously…just stop.

    Well. That was my idea of a fuckin vacation! I ate and drank through the damn city like a champ. Thank you to my beautiful friends who showed me such a wonderful time! Love u.
    This is me….7 lbs heavier…happy as a clam…and ready to head home. Time to CLEANSE!!!! 😉

    Alright y’all. I’ve been home now 4 days, and wanted to wait to post this so that I could review this 3 day cleanse by Juice Crafters. So by the time I would finish one, it was time for another;) perf!

    Oh, and I couldn’t do any strength training at the gym. Just did light cardio and walked a lot. Fine with me, I felt like a skinny bitch!

    Today is my first day eating actual food.
    I’m taking it slow and incorporating fresh fruits, veggies, avocado, a sweet potato, and 1 juice for today.
    I’m really thinking about trying to become more PLANTPOWER lady. Lol. Time to cut out a lot of animal products. Maybe a figure out FINALLY what makes me so bloated. Perhaps dairy? Hmmm. This is gonna be an experiment.

    Happy hump day babes!!! So far the week has been quite busy, and I’ve been fortunate enough to squeeze in some really amazing workouts as well. I’ve only had a few days this month where my feet have flared up. Thank you geeeezuzzz! ( if you don’t know, I had to quit Zumba sadly due to gnarly foot pain) I’ve been powering through, and avoiding too much pressure and compression on my lil tootsies. It’s been fun though getting creative in the gym I must say though.

    Anyway, last week we had an actual rainy and semi-cold weekend ( for LA, LOL) which inspired this next recipe! Finally, I’m sharing a SAVORY recipe! Whattttttt!?!?!? I know, not my usual…but I think it was time, don’t you!? So with that cozy weather last week….I was in need of a hearty, protein rich soup.

    One night, while pinning….I came across a recipe that inspired this baby. Of course….I had to do some adjustments;) I wish I could give a shoutout to the chickie who originally posted this on Pinterest…but paper entry I didn’t pin it. Hmmm weird.

    Here it is…in all it’s EFFIN glory! This recipe makes quite a large batch, so I would either: FREEZE IT…OR PORTION IT OUT FOR A WEEK OF MEAL PREP!
    It will have 5-6 servings, although I calculated it for 5 servings… I like big portions;)



    Creamy Chicken Chili
    • 2 Large chicken breasts. ( I use organic/free range)
    • 1 small yellow onion
    • 1 small can Ortega fire roasted green chillies
    • 3 minced cloves garlic
    • 1 tbsp coconut oil
    • 4-5 cups chicken broth (I use Low Sodium)
    • 1½ tsp cumin
    • ¾ tsp paprika
    • ½ tsp oregano
    • ½ tsp coriander
    • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
    • salt & pepper
    • 1 cup white beans (I used Trader Joes Organic Great Northern beans in can)
    • ½ cup fresh or frozen corn
    • 4oz fat free cream cheese or lite neufchatel cheese
    • juice of ½ a lime
    • ¼-1/2 cup chopped cilantro
    • Optional: grated monterrey jack cheese or cojita cheese & broken up tortilla pieces.

    1. In a dutch oven or lrg soup pan, heat 1 tbsp coconut oil.
    2. **Add in chopped onions
    3. **Add in 2 chicken breasts on med heat
    4. **Soften onions & sear chicken breast
    5. **Add minced garlic
    6. **Add chicken broth
    7. **Add all spices
    8. **Bring that to a boil.Once boiling…turn knob to SIMMER.
    9. **Simmer for 15 minutes.
    10. **Remove chicken and SHRED it..throw it back in.
    11. **Add in 4oz fat free cream cheese while on simmer. (It will chunk up, just keep stirring and removing lumps.
    12. **Add in corn
    13. **Add in ½ cup of the beans whole & the other ½ cup of the beans blended with a couple tbsp of your broth. This adds thickness and creaminess to the chilli.
    14. **Add juice of ½ a lime
    15. Simmer for 10 more minutes.
    16. Top with an extra squeeze of lime, fresh cilantro, and cheese:)

    There are 5 servings in this recipe. 1 serving is 237 calories.

    Here’s a shot of most of the major ingredients…. I forgot to show the fat free cream cheese, but it’s in there. 4 oz of it. It’s super easy to make. Soup is the absolute best! You literally throw shit in a pot….and viola!!!
    Also…feel free to add SPICE! As spicy as you would like…amazeballz. Also…I usually make my recipes really low carb…and I promise this is still under my “good carb guidelines”
    These beans are high in protein, and there is only ONE CUP of them in the whole recipe. Get into it. Byeeeeee


    I topped it with grated low fat Monterrey Jack cheese, a squeeze of lime, and fresh chopped cilantro. OMMMMMGGGGGGGG. I’ve been eating this ishhhh for 4 freakin days, and I’m still not sick of it:) lol
    Seriously… Make this ASAP! Oh…especially if you’re in the mid west or east coast..where it’s fuckinnnnn COLD!!!!!

    Ok, moving on to “WHAT PAULA ATE WEDNESDAY” when I say Wednesday…. I mean errrrrrredayyyyy

    Hi friends!!!!! How is everyone!? I can’t believe that January is almost behind us! Feels like yesterday that we were ringing in the New Year! So crazy. I still find it very hard to get back into my fitness and diet. It’s ridiculous how quickly the pounds can pack on. Ugh. It also is not helping that this year, in fact, next week is my 30th BIRTHDAY! After much thought…I’m thinking that I like the way that sounds. Hi, I’m Paula, and I’m thirty. Yep. Ok.
    Be cool Paula. Lol
    Maybe that’s why I’m having such a hard time losing the 8 -10 lbs I gained during the holidays… Is it possible that, as soon as you turn thirty, your body knows it and goes, “haha, now you’re gonna have to work double extra hard to keep up your metabolism betch!?” Oh god.
    Anyway, I’ve got a really fun post for you today! I’ve been a huge fan of The Laughing Cow for a long time. I must say , life is much better with these babies in my life. I’m actually laughing as I write his because, I actually remember telling my friends ” seriously…you know what would be on my tombstone when I go,(obviously, in a morbid way) “Everything is better with a cheese wedge!” Hahahhahah sounds creepy. But in all seriousness, I haven’t tried a flavor that I haven’t loved! Check out the post I did on my favorite Laughing Cow snack ideas!

    These little 35-45 calorie cheese wedges add sooo much flavor WITHOUT packing on the calories to your daily macros. The combinations are endless, and seriously make every meal and snack, so much more enjoyable. The 35 calorie cheese wedges are a perfect snack, and come in 7 different flavors. I couLd just eat a triangle by itself! The Smooth Sensations cream cheese spread is 45 calories and super creamy! it really does beat having regular ol’ cream cheese.
    I wish I could share with you sooooo many ways, but I’ve narrowed it down to my 3 favorite ways in 3 different meals!
    First up:

    BTW….this can also be a snack. Super easy peazy.
    3/4 cup liquid egg whites
    Microwave in a greased bowl for 1 min 30 secs, checking and stirring.
    Add a Smooth Sensation cream cheese wedge or any other fave flavor in the last 30 seconds of heating.
    Sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper and VÍOLA!
    Soooo much more delicious flavor to those eggies!


    This is what my amazing LUNCH looked like! Again, this can also be a great mid day snack idea!
    My boyfriend and I went nuttzo for this combo! I’m a total egg-a-holic, no joke. I think it’s a great way to get in that protein we all need, especially if hitting the weight room pretty often. This meal is the perfect combo of carbs/fat/protein.
    Toast one Thomas Whole Wheat bagel Thin, or a low carb tortilla.
    Spread 1 Smooth sensation Chive and onion wedge or a White Cheddar wedge (my fave) on your toast of choice.

    Cut a quarter of your pre-made frittata. ( I made mine with carton egg whites, peppers, leeks, kale, onion, and garlic.) also try this recipe.
    Stuff inside your your sandwich or wrap and enjoy!!!


    Last but not least…. Check out this bowl of goodness!!!! Yummmmmmmmm, omg.
    Ok, this was my dinner…but with how little calories this bowl is, it can easily be consumed as one of your mid-day snacks.(w/out the chicken)
    So, all you gotta do is:
    pick up 2 bags of Miracle Noodles or Fettuccini (20 calories a bag!) …remove from bag, rinse, and flash boil.
    Remove from boiling water, strain, and place in bowl.
    Add in: 1 Smooth Sensation cream cheese wedge, and 1 light Garlic & Herb cheese wedge
    2 tbsp Nonfat sour cream
    1/4 tsp crushed garlic
    Pinches of each: Mrs. Dash seasonings, thyme, and White Cheddar popcorn seasoning.

    For more protein and for more of a complete meal…ad 4 oz chicken breast:)

    Microwave all ingredients until creamy and combined!!! The noodles totally take on the cheesy flavor and it is absolutely an orgasm in your mouth. No exaggeration! So freakin low carb, without the loss of flavor!

    NOW THAT, folks…is my idea of fettuccine Alfredo!!!! Sooo healthy!
    Without the chicken Calories: 130!!!!
    With chicken: Calories: 250!!!

    As you can tell, I’m a huge advocate…and fan of this company.

    Yeay!!!! HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!
    And what a great week so far! The parties are over folks, and I’m finally starting to feel normal again. Lol. New Year’s Eve was a blast!     Around 2:30 A.M. We decided that we were plenty drizzed, and it was time to call our “Tipsy Tow”.
    Yep, that’s right. You heard correctly. On the morning of New Year’s Eve while watching Fox 11 news ( the only fucking channel that comes in on my bunny ears) …(yes, I don’t have cable) they mentioned some great ideas on getting home without drinking and driving. I am totally against that shit. One of them, was AAA offering to tow your car home within 7 miles of pickup!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAA!? Finally my AAA membership would come in to good use! Lol.
    Well, get ready for the best part of this story.
    While waiting for out “tipsy Tow”, your homies passed out in the car missing 3 AAA phone calls! We woke up at 5:30 A.m. Like, “wtf!”
    I guess we’re sober now!!!!! Hahahha. We drove home and passed out again.
    God……you really gotta love New Years!


    JANUARY 1st. 2014.
    Popped a few Ibuprofen to kick my champagne hangover, and we headed to beach! Woohoo;) it was sunny and beautiful out, so we weren’t missing it!

    PARADISE COVE CAFE, MALIBU, here we come! 75 * and sunny….YES PLEASE!
    Malibu is one of my favorite places to spend the day. If it wasn’t so far from my work, I would live here in a heart beat. This place is pretty awesome. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The beach is kept super clean, and the best part… can drink on the beach here! (I sound like such an alcoholic, geeeeez) I’m saying this more cuz it’s the only was to kill the hangover. More champagne. Oh god. Lol.

    The food is ridiculous!!!!!! RIDICULOUS GOOOOOOOD!
    So much for starting my healthy diet on the first of the year!

    Anddddddddd shrimp cocktail.
    Um….food coma.

    HAPPY…..(even with that wrinkle mid forehead.) nice.

    Like I said….more champagne to kill the champagne hangover. these mimosas were D-licious. We just had one each;)

    After such an awesome and, to say the very least, GLUTTONOUS, we decided to take a walk along the water. It’s was so pretty out, and these fat kids needed to digest all those yummies. My girlfriend Mayra gave me these really cool PHOTOJOJO lenses for Christmas, I was dying to try them.

    After our approx. 4 mile walk, it was time to sink our feet in the sand and chill. By this time it was like 4 p.m. His is what I love about Paradise Cove. You can seriously make a whole day of it.

    Listen. We LOVE our wine. So what!? We sat and enjoyed our Chardonnay as the sun went down, and it was perfect. Thank god we didn’t end up staying home:)

    Our lunch was so much, that we just ended up having Menchies frozen yogurt for dinner. Lol.

    Staying on the subject of water, beach, drinking and hydration…. I want to introduce to you a really cool product. I’m not just bringing this up cuz it may or may not have cured my hangover, but also because it’s delicious! Cocozia contacted me about trying them out and I was happy to. This company, Epicurex, prides itself in only distributing all natural, and organic products. This water comes for the green coconut, and is full of essential electrolytes. Electrolytes are directly involved with body hydration and muscle function. Maybe that’s why I found that drinking this before and during a workout was pretty amazing. Apart from my love of wine, I really only drink water, an occasional Kevita, and coconut water. I usually stay away from beverages that contain very much (if any) sugar, so the “all coconut, no added sugars”, appealed to me. I get that everyone has their own fave, but I really loved this. Especially super- duper cold!

    Onto some fitness news!
    I am battling some feet injuries and sadly not able to do my usual Zumba workouts. Wompppppp wommmmp. The new year is definitely testing me. So far, workouts have been sparse. I’ve realized that, in order to heal, I’ve got to REST. And frankly, I can’t go hard like I used to. Sad really, but I’ve got to emprovise. I recently received an email from a freelance writer named Becky Flanigan regarding doing a guest post on From Fries To Fit about some fun ways to stay fit…IN THE WATER!
    I am an absolute water baby! Oh, and I’m an Aquarius…I mean.
    Check me out…… Yep, that’s me. Arms crossed, pissed for something super dumb, I’m sure. I grew up in a pool. My mother and grandfather were swim coaches, and I took after them. Practically a swimmer all my life.

    This post and write-up couldn’t have come at a better time. With all this discomfort and pain I’ve been having, this is a perfect alternate that allows me to workout pain-FREE! Now, I just need a pool. Lol.;)


    5 Great Aqua Aerobics Exercises To Stay Fit

    I love to run, and try to do a weight workout as an alternative about once a week. As a busy Mom, it’s tough to fit in all my workouts, and especially to add in some cross-training. My favorite choice for some alternate exercises is aqua aerobics. I get the cardio of running and core benefit of ab work, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how much weight work I can get from water exercise. Here are 5 of my favorite aqua aerobics exercises:

    1) Pool plank. For me, it’s all about keeping my core strong, and the plank, on land or water, works the core very efficiently. In the water, I stand on the pool floor, and take a noodle (a long solid rubber tube, great for pool exercise), and hold it horizontally in both hands, about shoulder width apart. Holding my arms straight out, I press down into the water, letting the noodle curl up around my arms on either side, then lean forward with my head out of the water. I watch the clock on the wall, and try to hold this position for 2 minutes. It gives me a great burn, and I know my abs are getting a great workout.

    2) Become Spiderman. This is a great cardio exercise, and a lot of fun, too. I stand near the side of the pool, and sweep my hands back and forth like I’m treading water. I run my legs up the side of the pool, and then back down. I alternate my leading leg each time I climb, and do 4 sets of climbs. By that time, I’m breathing pretty hard, but if I have more energy left, I just add another set.

    3) Cardio core ball running. Once I’ve gotten my heart rate up with the Spiderman, core ball running keeps it up and gives me more cardio workout. This exercise provides cardio plus core strength training, in one great combination. I take a 6 inch inflated ball and hold it in front of my navel. Then I run back and forth across the pool as fast as I can for 1 minute. I rest for 30 seconds, then do 3 more repetitions. I try to increase my speed each time, and by the end, I’m really breathing hard, which is just what I wanted.

    4) One legged balance. To let me catch my breath, I do an exercise for balance and strength. I stand in waist deep water, and keeping my knee straight, lift one leg up, and put the noodle under my ankle. I keep my hands by my sides, and try to balance for one minute. I switch legs and do the other leg. If the kids are around, I have them jog in circles around me to create a current, which forces my core to work harder to keep my balance. The kids love it when they’re called on for this duty – they try to make me to step off the noodle, laughing the whole time. The beauty of this exercise in the water is that while balancing, I don’t risk the embarrassing fall I had one time when I tried this on land.

    5) Fly backs. Now it’s time to throw in a weight element, and fly backs are great to work out my upper chest, back and arms – it also helps with my posture. I start in a lunge position, with my right knee bent, and my left leg extended behind me. I push my arms straight out in front of me about chest high. I spread my arms out to the sides, palms parallel to the water in a swimming motion, and boy, can you feel the resistance water gives in this one. I return my arms to the starting position, switching my hands to palms forward, and that is one rep. I do 4 sets of 8 to 15 reps, and switch the forward leg on each set. When I’m finished, I can really feel the effect on my upper body.
    Those are some of my favorites aqua aerobic exercises, but there are plenty of other choices. Whether I’m looking for cardio work, or specific resistance exercises to parallel weight workouts, aqua aerobics can give me a wonderful exercise routine.

    Becky Flanigan enjoyed creative writing classes in school, and uses those skills when writing freelance articles for Becky likes spending time with her husband, 3 kids, and 2 golden retrievers. She spends many fun filled hours at the family swimming pool, watching the kids and dogs splash and play. She is also an avid gardener – and even helps friends landscape and decorate their yards.

    Hi loves!!! With Halloween behind us, I can’t hardly believe that the end of the year is upon us. As you know, Halloween has never been my favorite holiday, but I loveeeeee fall, so…. I had to show support and at least get dressed up. Here’s a shot of us at my girlfriend Kelly’s house. She threw a great lil party. Honestly….I have absolutely no clue what I was supposed to be, but, it kind of resembled a sheriff from New Mexico. Of course, a bit of a sexy version. Whatever. Lol.

    Anyway…for those of you wondering…(since I never post pics of boys) this is Marcin. He’s dressed up as a “big black cloud” and he’s dreamy. Sighhhhhh


    Ok, moving on to more fall news;) finally time to start getting rid of some of these sugar pumpkins all over my house. From decoration into my belly!!! I decided to cut this puppy up, and roast it.


    Pumpkin is pretty tough in texture and typically takes quite some tie to roast and soften in the oven, so I cut it up into small squares to speed up the cooking. A lil impatient you could say…..
    Here’s an idea of what to do with the seeds when you remove them from the inside of the pumpkin. Lord knows…I HATE wasting food. SWEET CACAO ROASTED PUMPKIN SEEDS.

    These little pumpkin bites were roasted with:

    HONEY ( I used this one)




    Roast at 400* for 40 minutes.

    (note: pumpkin in itself isn’t very sweet. Do not get confused with “canned” pumpkin. When roasting real pumpkin, if you want it sweet, make sure to add a bit more honey to compensate for the bitterness.)


    As you all know, Halloween comes with copious amounts of candy, on candy, on CANDY!!!!! Shit candy, really. Kit Kat, twix, snickers, ughhhhhhhhhh! I’m not gonna lie….I did give in and have a few. C’mon…who really didn’t have ANY shit candy?????
    Well, yes….I’ve got a gnarly sweet tooth & will absolutely admit to having sweets (sometimes a bit toooooooo often) , but…….. if I’m gonna get cray on some sugar, this is what I wanna stuff my face with.


    So, we’ve covered pumpkin, now, let’s explore another fall flavor. CARAMEL!
    One of my favorite clients from the salon, Diane of has really hit the jackpot with these. I was a lucky son of a bitch to get to sample these sweet but slightly salty beer & Pretzel caramels. We have the best time when she comes into the salon. We chat, laugh, share blogging tips, compare recipes and bounce ideas. I love it. She has a total foodie like me!! 🙂


    If I’m gonna get down on some sugar, I’d seriously prefer for it to be in this form; handmade with local ingredients, organic, & homemade with love! This is the best way to enjoy sweets my sweets! How freakin cute is there packaging though!!!???
    I not only wanted to share these perfect little morsels because I LOVVVEEE them, but also because I was super inspired by Diane’s passion for whole, clean foods as well as her life balance of health with a bit of added sweetness;) I truly aspire to find that balance and find that passion.     November is here!!!!! This is how naughty I’ve been…. I haven’t been posting enough, I know. We went from the end of oct-the begging of Nov without a post! Wtf! Well, November pretty much came so fast, it practically slapped me in the face! This past Sunday ( November 2) was a a very special day.
    My best friend Alicia (on the right) and I, along with close family and friends ran the 6th annual Heroes of Hope grey ribbon crusade to continue brain cancer research, in which all proceeds benefit childhood and adult brain tumor research at UCLA, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Alicia’s uncle was recently diagnosed with a lrg brain tumor and is currently undergoing chemo through Cedars-Sinai. We pray that he recovers and continues to live a healthy and cancer free life.

    The event was held at beautiful Dockweiler State Beach Park. I was surprised that the fog rolled out fairly early. We ran in sunny & beautiful weather:) Absolute best part: Loads and loads of supporters showed up!

    For some reason, I thought we were gonna be running a 10k but apparently we signed up for the 5k. Whatever, I was just stoked to be running by the beach. It was actually perfect because I haven’t really been running lately, so a 10k at 7:30 am prooooobably wasn’t the best idea for my problematic, not trained feet. Lol. The 5k was perfect and super fun!


    I came in 69th place. With a time of 26.38. Not too shabby! Well, for me;)


    Any time, after a run….I am famished. Lol.

    This weekend, I also decided to make an excuse as to why I needed to buy a million new bras and panties, and open up a Victoria secrets credit card. goooooood lord.
    At least I saved $15, ha!

    This is the thing…..I NEVER find bras that fit me perfect. I always just “make it work” lol. Soooooooo, when I tried on “THE DATE UNLINED BRA” I realized that I had met my match, my soulmate! I’m a sucker for a good deal, and guess what!? If you bought the bra ($28.50) you practically received a free matching panty! Whatttttttt!? Hell yeah. Bring it betch.
    A set for $30!? I’ll take it….times 5. Lol

    Anyway, back to things of importance. Fitness.
    Yesterday, Monday, marked day 1 or the LIVEFIT TRAINER from
    First day of week 9...LEGS.

    Ok, so I didn’t actually do this whole workout today. Reason being, that I knew I had to teach Zumba at 7 pm and seriously thought it may be too much on my body. Sometimes, you just gotta be honest with yourself. I couldn’t do it.
    My class was fantastic though and we had a great time finding out inner sexy bitch.
    I surprised myself when I decided to stay for the next class, which was body sculpting.

    Oh girllllllll! My body said “oh hell no!”
    I immediately filled my tub with Morton’s Epsom salt, grabbed some reading material and soaked! Soaked my tired and sore muscles. Womp womppppppp.

    Ahhhh!!! I can finally post!!!! Ugh I have been so frustrated. Well, today…my post is dedicated to my absolute favorite season.

    This is the time of year when all I want to do is be cozy, drink wine, and eat warm, hearty foods. You also best believe this betch has got 6 pumpkin pie, pumpkin swirl, cinnamon toast, crisp apple candles all over the damn place. I’m sure no surprise to those who know me. Lol.
    I can’t help be really believe this quote. For me….my moods and outlooks change with the weather. Can anyone relate. In other words babes, this is a fresh start;)



    Another reason to obsess over fall….FOOTBALL SEASON! Go Broncos!!!!!
    Although….I can’t effing believe they lost at the Colts home this past Sunday. Pissed.
    Love my old school hat though.


    Cozy Willy and cashmere blankets covering my couch. On crisp mornings especially. Swoon.
    Been really loving getting up and enjoying my mornings before rushing to the gym. I’m over that. Plus, now that I start work way later in the A.M, I actually feel so much more free, and and find that I really don’t need to wake up at 5 to get shit done. Absolutely lovely. Time is priceless.



    The time of year when turkeys start popping up on magazine covers…..A couple of years ago, I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 22 people at my parents house, and it was a huge success. It was a lot of hard work, and not gonna lie….expensive.

    But….absolutely worth it. It was amazing. I called it my “William Sonoma Thanksgiving“. A lot of the ideas came from either that little William Sonoma mag they give out at the store during this time of year, or from the November issue of Bon Appetit. My favorite foodie magazine. Definitely not the healthiest of recipes, but damn delicious. This year, I’d really like to do something similar. Gotta chat with mom to see if we can round up the troops 🙂 This year, I may see if I can healthify things a bit. You know…subbing cream for say……almond milk…or a nut meal crust with coconut oil instead of a shortbread pumpkin pie crust. Add stock instead of butter…. you know, things like this. What do ya’ll think. I know I should be talking about Halloween since it is the holiday coming up, but…to be honest, not a huggggggggggge fan of that holiday. Not interested. I like the decorating part, but no so much the dressing up and the rest of it. Anyway……

    Ok, so if you follow my instagram….you will see that I’ve been obsessing over Arctic Zero !!!!! Last week, Arctic Zero sent me a box filled with loads of different flavors to try. Droooooool!!!!! Talking about substitutions, this is by far the smartest ICE CREAM SUBSTITUTION!!!!

    As you know, I’ve got a bad history with binge eating. This I do admit. On many occasions, I’ve scarfed down whole pints of ice cream, like a train was chasing me. Trying to get it down so fast so that I wouldn’t have to actually think about how guilty I would feel afterward.

    Hmmmmm, does this sound familiar to anyone??? Well, If you’ve ever inhaled a whole pint of regular ice cream, then you must know that you’ve just consumed

    1200 CALORIES!!!!! (ex: Dreyer’s)

    WTFFFFFFF!!!!!!!! I know, sick. Because ice cream is seen as the forbidden fruit, we gorge on it because we think, “ugh, well… I better eat allllllllllllllllll of this now, because I am like, Never gonna do this again!!!!!” 1/2 a cup suddenly goes out the window.


    I have found our new BESTIE!!!!! Arctic Zero offers GUILT-FREE frozen desserts for a fraction of the cals!!! They are delicious, I’ve sampled them all;) My personal fave…. STRAWBERRY. All made with no artificial sweeteners, NON GMO, low glycemic & made with whey protein! I’ve been even adding a couple tbsps in my protein shakes! Holy AMAZEBALLZ! The BEST part…..

    This is no lie. I know it seems hard to believe, but see for yourself here. The proof is right there!

    I am so freakin grateful to have found this product. FINALLY, I get to enjoy an ice cream treat without sacrificing a healthy diet. Now, knowing that I can have it whenever I want, and knowing that its not naughty at all, I don’t have that “forbidden fruit” mentality anymore. Available in 7 yummy ass flavors.

    You can’t possibly go on without Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer though October. No sir. For me, sugar free.

    Listen, I know its fake shit, and soooo not natural OR organic, but you know what. Leave me alone. It’s one tbsp or less I use a day, so whatever! It is so yummy, and homegurrrrlllll loves her coffee! I swear I looked EVERYWHERE for this! Couldn’t find the Coffee Mate one, so I settled for International Delight.  Its pretty fantastic!!! 20 calories a tbsp for a cup of coffee beats a 100 cal nonfat vanilla latte from Sbucks, right?!





    Sometimes, sweet potatoes just aren’t gonna cut it. I’ve been sick of em’. I’ve completely played them out. Pumpkin too. LOl.

    I’ve moved on to Kabocha Squash. BYEEEEEEEEE. Have you ever had it? It’s probably the onesquash that you keep passing up when you’re at the store, cuz frankly, it’s pretty ugly. Dark greenish/brown usually. It’s one of the only squashes that I actually eat the skin after I’ve cooked it. It’s full of fiber, so go right ahead. Make sure it’s organic if you’re gonna eat the skin. It’s also one of the sweetest 😉 I can’t think of a better FALL & October recipe to share with ya’ll. It’s a healthier alternative and pairs great with all proteins and other sides like veggies!





    I made this the other night with a lemon & herb roasted chicken and a spinach & avocado salad with olive oil and champagne vinegar. It was soooo bomb!

    That white stuff you see sprinkled over the top, is my absolute favorite cheese! MANCHEGO!



    Kabocha Squash Puree

    • 1 whole Kabocha squash
    • ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk. (silk brand=30 cals for 1 cup)
    • 2 tbsp Fat free sour cream (Trader Joe’s brand=15 cals for 2 tbsp)
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • pinch of cinnamon & nutmeg
    • salt & pepper
    • optional topping: Grated manchego cheese on top, or use your fave!

    1. Pre-heat oven 400 degrees.
    2. Cut kabocha squash in ½. Sprinkle both insides with garlic powder, cinnamon & nutmeg.
    3. In a baking dish, with ½ an inch of water. Place both halves face down into the dish.
    4. Roast for 40 minutes, or until very soft. top may brown slightly.
    5. Once cooked, let sit out to cool. Then add all the rest of ingredients along with roasted kabocha into a high speed blender, or whatever you have to blend.
    6. Serve puree with a bit of your favorite grated cheese over top;)



    I hope you enjoy that simple recipe. It really did turn out awesome. oh & a lil secret…..

    Hey y’all! Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA, but to be totally honest…there hasn’t been too much to report. As far as my progress in my LIVE FIT TRAINER program, it’s going really well. Weeks 3 & 4 have been pretty much the same workouts and foods, except I’ve been upping my weight a bit. Just about to finish up week 4, and I gotta tell ya….loving this shit. I feel so empowered. “When in doubt, go LIFT”

    I absolutely **CANNOT WAIT** till ***PHASE 2!***
    This is where I start gettin shredddddded!! Finally! **CARDIOOOOOO!**

    Anyway, trust me, you will get all the lowdown on foods, supplements, and workouts for the next phase of the transform. I’ve had a handful of “*re-feed”* meals ( some would call cheat days) within these last couple weeks, but, I’m fine with it. My body reacted just fine. I think the consistency of my caloric intake has kept my metabolism on check, so when I did have those heavier meals, I was fine.

    It’s no strange news to you about my obsession with QuestBars. This I know, but I can’t help but to send a lil shout out, EVERY time I buy them. They are by far the BEST protein bar on the market. All the flavors you see are all made with stevia or erythritol.

    Ok, so a girl can really get sick of “OATS” as a pre-workout meal, so this past week, I’ve switched it up. I found this amazing, moist, delicious & organic sunflower seed bread by Delba.

I ran across this puppy while doing some shopping the other day. I don’t know if ya’ll are familiar with Walden Farms products, but they also have a BBQ sauce that is 0 cal, sugar free, well, all of the above, but….i just cant bring myself to buy it. If you read the back, you honestly CANNOT pronounce a thing that’s in it. UMMMM, I just couldn’t justify it. Anyway, then I saw this one. Good things come to those who wait, right?!

    Well, she’s a WINNER!

    Nature’s Hollow SUGAR FREE BBq sauce.

    Helooooo..helllllllllooooooo! I’m back! Just feeling like I’m finally getting back into my groove and this week has started off AMAZING! My house is still a bit messy, but hey. Whatever.
    Started off the week full force at the gym and now a proud new member of COREPOWER yoga.
    I’m really into it right now, and the best part…. It doesn’t irritate the tendonitis! Thank god. I used to loathe yoga, now…it’s the ONLY thing that makes me focus in every sense of the word. My breath…awareness in my body and allowing myself to truly understand how to clear my racing mind. So into it! I’ve been doing the heated fusion classes, but still really enjoy traditional and non-heated.
    Anyway… I am feeling strong, and I’m enjoying my new practice and progress.
    What are you guys into right now? Do you listen to your body?


    My breakfasts lately have been incredible POG’s!!! that’s right.. (pots of greatness!) my Instagram friends inspire me to change it up constantly. 1- to stay excited about clean yummy foods and 2- especially to avoid binging eating.
    I literally fill a mason jar full of super delicious & nutritious foods such as
    chia seeds in unsweetened almond milk, & maca powder
    Greek yogurt with your favorite protein powder,
    Favorite nut mix
    Berries,kiwis, stone fruits

    The possibilities are endless:)
    Just keep layering and changing it up! So fun and AAAAAAMMMAAAZINGGGG.

    Today on the tea menu… Mint Julep, with fresh mint of course. I discovered David’s Tea while on my Vancouver trip, and now, can’t get enough. Remember now…I was always Miss. Coffee. Kinda over that now… Weirddddddd.


    Wilbur, aka…white ninja sidekick is stoked to be hangin’ with his mama all day:) I sneak him into shops and I don’t care if I’m judged. Lol. On days off, this is my rolldawg.


    As you know, I’ve been on a mission to finish my upstairs and finally get an actual office space for more organization. Sooooo with the help of my Amiga, I went on a gnarly desk hunt.


    I was at my folks house (house-sitting) so we decided to hit up Urban Home. There she all her glory. My new desk! ok, it may or may not actually be a dining table…but eff it. Honestly…the pic just doesn’t do it justice, and no it’s not 2-toned wood. It’s the light. So annoying. I swear, it’s really pretty. Best part, it’s a bigggg ol’ thang! ok.. So I bought it, then we both realize….”um, how are we gonna get this to my house 25 miles away.?” Mos def not in my VW Golf. Lol. Figuring this out mañana… Also a few more items I need to find…preferably like, tomorrow….

    Pretty damn shocked at how healthy you can eat at The Lazy Dog Cafe. Apparently, you can bring your dog there…pfffff, who knew? Delicious, satisfying, and a gorgeous night out.



    Reviews are fun! Not only do I get to sample some really great products, ( sometimes not so great 🙁 lol) but It allows me to share with all of you, foods and products to encourage continues success in your fit and healthy lifestyle. Plus, sometimes you just need to switch it up. We all get bored of the same shit different day.
    So first up… DETOUR BARS.
    I tried these for the first time at the Blend Retreat a couple months ago, and had a secret crush on them, particularly the new flavor. Neapolitan. Well maybe cuz that was my favorite ice cream flavor growing up. Seriously.
    The lovely folks over at Detour, sent me a lil box to get me hooked, lol. I also had a copule of friends, who aren’t Neapolitan obsessed, try it to see if they would be into it….and the main consensus, “MMMMMMM, YUMMMMMMM. That’s lovely.”
    I don’t think it’s considered a meal replacement bar. For me, it’s a snack bar. Mid day, or after a workout in between meals.
    It is actually low in sugar, but I’m not a huge fan of sugar alcohols. I used to not mind them, And I’m sure a lot of you also don’t, but lately, I’ve noticed that when I consume certain sugar alcohols, I get gassy, and bloated. Not cute.

    What I absolute LOVE, is the taste! Not too sweet at all! Pheeeew. Some bars are so sweet it almost makes me sick! These are the perfect texture. Slightly nougat-ty, with no chalky after taste.

    It’s official! It’s SUMMER!!! With 4th of July behind us now, it doesn’t mean getting bikini body ready is out the window!!!! I am sure that we all have loads of parties and beach outings to get sexy for! 😉 Well, today’s post is very special. Not just because I like to be a brown doggy in the summer, but also, because I want to highlight my best friend. Amy Jacob. She recently became a specialist in organic spray tanning, and it killing it!

    Welcome to ROMAN Salon. Amy and I go way back. We went to hair school together and have been by each others side ever since. We’ve worked together…even lived together, so when Roman Salon announced their beauty blogger event, you best believe I was was expecting an invite! Lol


    This quaint but modern salon is nestled in between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. On La Cienega blvd to be exact. It’s EFFIN CUTE! I thought the event was a great way for people to get to know the staff, and check out all that they had to offer as a team. I grabbed a glass of sparkling wine, and found myself in awe of their gorgeous back patio space.

    Amy Jacob is a top stylist. She gives amazing haircuts ( clearly Vidal Sassoon trained) and smokes the competition with her Brazilian blowout skills. She just gets it.
    To add to her repertoire, she now offers a new service!!! I swear, this bitch is on fire. I can’t keep up. ORGANIC AIRBRUSH TANNING! I am fully taking advantage of this;)
    Ok not gonna lie…. I am a confessed sunworshiper, and have been all my life. If you ask Amy, she’ll tell you the same. In our younger years, we obsessed over who had the better “dirty face” tan. I know….gross. I even worked at at tanning salon when I was 16 to pretty much get free tans, cuz trust me, they weren’t payin’ me much. I mean….you get the idea. I love being a brown doggy. Lol
    Well, as we get older….maybe notttttttt the best idea, huh? As grown women, we all now have to be uber careful of damaging uv lights, sun spots ( hyper pigmentation) cancer, ugh. All of these are dangerous, and age us like nobodies business. Ew.
    Clearly, now with new ridiculous technology and brainiacs…we can now be perfectly tan without all the harm.


    I was weary of spray tans after seeing friends walk out of random tanning salons looking like umpa-lumpas, and would always go ” um, yeah…no thanks.”
    They were going into machines, rubbing some lotion on their hands and feet to avoid ” staining” and spinning around inside while this machine sprayed carrot colored pigment un-evenly across your body. Gooooooood lord. Well, we’ve come along way!
    Not only do spray tans get applied by a professional now, it is absolutely customized to your body shape, color, pigment, all of it. It’s absolutely amazing. The days of looking like streaky mess are over. I sat down with Amy to get the rundown of this new and organic product, and for y’all to get to know her a bit;)

    FF2F: How long have you been at Roman Salon?

    Amy: I have been at Roman Salon for three and a half years, and have been working in this industry now for about ten years.

    FF2F: What do you specialize in?

    Amy: I have been a stylist, specializing in hair cutting for the entirety of my career. My newest beauty venture is custom organic airbrush tanning.

    FF2F: Appts only or walk in’s welcome?

    Amy: Walk ins are welcomed! But an appointment is recommended if there’s a specific time or day you like.

    FF2F: Tell me a bit about these products you use for organic spray tanning? And how do they compare to other products out?

    Amy: Because, like almost everyone, I’ve had a bad faux tan before, I did a ton of research before choosing a product to use, and I am absolutely in love with this solution! Most importantly, I wanted the most natural product I could find… this one is organic, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan, so it’s great for those with sensitivities. Every tan is custom blended to compliment each persons unique skin tone and desire tan depth, meaning we can give you anything from the most subtle hint of color, to back-from-vacation bronzed! Airbrush tanning should not be a one-color-fits-all situation, which I had found most of the time. Also, the bronzing agent in the solution is very subtle, and my clients love that they can go about their day, or sneak back to work, without looking crazy brown and having to hide at home until it’s time to shower.

    FF2F: How long will my tan last?

    Amy: Expect your tan to last at least one week.

    FF2F: Will it stain my clothes?

    Amy: It won’t stain clothes, but I always advise clients to come in with loose, dark fitting clothing, and flip flops because there is a slight tint to the solution. And if you like to tan with undies one, choose black ones.


    FF2F: Should I exfoliate before my session?

    Amy: Yes! A thorough exfoliation from face down to the feet will ensure that your glow lasts as long as possible, and wears off evenly. Come to your session without lotions or oils on your skin, and makeup and deodorant free if possible.

    FF2f: What are the advantages to a person “customizing” your tan as opposed to the spray tan machine alternative?

    Amy: It’s a night and day difference! I have always found those machines to produce a super orange-y fake color, and they always seem to stain the cuticles and feet/heels. That’s the dead giveaway! The style in which I spray my clients replicates the way in which the sun would tan you: subtly darker in areas like tops of arms, shoulders, back, tummy, legs, and slightly lighter on hands, feet, face, neck… This assures you never look “dipped” in color!

    FF2F: What is the cost per session? How often should I come in to keep up that “summer glow”?

    Amy: A tanning session is $55. I also offer some partials: $35 for Upper or Lower Body, and $25 for Face/Neck/Chest. If you’d like to maintain a tan, come about every week and a half. I find clients love to come right before a wedding, special event, or vacation. Also, join us for Happy Hour every Thursday evening from 3-7, for $40 full body tans!

    Guess what! First day of summer OFFICIALLY begins on JUNE 21st!Ekkkkkkk! Yes…that is tomorrow. Lol. So, we need to get it together ladies!
    I know…we all know what that means! It’s time for a new bikini, and for most of us, this is dreadful, including me. It seems like we spend all year trying to prep our bodies and minds for this very moment. Haha. It does. It sounds ridiculous, but it is what it is! If it means working out more throughout the year, and changing eating habits….it’s all good then. We’ve done good for our bodies. I can think of worse things we could be doing. Lol.


    A we all know, to reach ultimate results with optimal health, you need a game plan, a goal to reach.
    I always remind myself…”Paula, it took 29 years to have this body, it ain’t gonna take 2 months for that body to change” I tell myself that when I’m feeling doubt, or when I wanna just say “eff it,give me that damn ice cream!”
    It’s time. It’s time to start making changes, and for the long haul. I write this to you…I’m saying it to myself too;) Trust me, it’s hard for all of us sometimes. We are not robots. We have emotions, and sometimes those emotions lead to bad decision making. The key: To not beat yourself up about it. Stress is the root of all evil! That is why we’ve got this 89/20 rule. Beacause we can’t be perfect all the time!

    I’ve got some amazing workouts for you to try at home or at the gym. My favorite magazine, Women’s Health, is always either on my coffee table or at work. I am constantly following their quick but effective workouts, and I love to share them. Remember: If you use your time wisely with your workouts, you won’t need to spend 1 1/2 hrs at the gym. Trust me.

    Below are some great examples of fat burning, muscle building, and HIIT.
    When doing these workouts, and any workout really, keep in mind that, if it doesn’t challenge you, you MUST CHANGE IT UP. Always keep your body guessing. What this means…..really, 5 lb dumbbells. Um, you can do better than that… K, know what I mean;)

    So, to add to your hectic life….brought to you by The Laughing Cow and myself, a few quick, easy, and yummy ASS snacks for you to stay on track, are these babies! 😉
    Snacking is how I live sometimes. In between meals and clients, I need a pick me up. My body needs to know that I haven’t neglected it, so remember to snack on something small in between meals to avoid:
    #1: Not over-eating
    #2: To avoid your body from storing fat ( if you go too long without eating while active, your body will think that you aren’t going to feed it, and will begin storing fat, or eating away muscle) no thanks.
    #3: To not become ” HANGRY ” ( I apology see for what I said when I was hungry type attitude) lol


    A packet of these RAW wheat free crusts will set ya back $4.50 totally worth it. Gluten free, raw, and amazeballz!


    2-3 hard boiled eggs chopped ( only 1 yolk)

    1 triangle of Chipotle Laughing Cow wedge

    1/2 tsp mustard

    1 tbsp light sour cream or 0% chobani nonfat yogurt

    Salt & pepper


    Mix together, top over crust and your done. BOMB!


    These are fantastic! Little savory bite sized salmon cakes;)


    5 whole wheat wheat thins

    1 triangle of your favorite Laughing Cow cream cheese spread. ( my fave is chipotle and queso fresco)

    1 tbsp of leftover baked salmon ( could also use smoked salmon, but more sodium)

    Thick grated fresh cucumber

    Sprinkle of sesame seeds


    This is the perfect snack. Balanced in fat, protein and carbs, your body will thank you. This is a great pre or post workout snack;)


    If your not into fish, no bigs….you can use chicken breast too;)
    Oh, and did I mention that 1 wedge of Laughing Cow is only 35 CALORIES!
    Love that! Lots of summer parties and BBQs happening this summer so bust these out as a fresh appetizer! Yummmmmmmm


    For you who have a gnarly sweet tooth, like me, I’ve got something for us!!!! I have to admit….I can’t have a meal without finishing up with a dessert;) with this sweet little bite, it satisfies that craving. I was over the moon when my Laughing Cow wedges got delivered and I saw this…. FREAKIN CINNAMON CREAM ummmm, are you kidding me!
    Obsession. With only 45 calories a wedge, you can eat this with absolutely no guilt. This is lovely smeared over a cut up apple, or well, pretty much any fruit.
    Right now…get ready to go BA-NA-NASSSSS!



    These are a fave! Kids adore them, and adults freak out;) top with your favorite seeds, nuts, or even a bit of chocolate.


    Here’s the easy steps:

    2 bananas (cut rounds)

    2-3 Cinnamon Cream Laughing Cow wedges

    Hemp seeds

    Chia seeds

    Shaved raw cacao (100%- the higher the % the higher in antioxidants)


    In between 2 banana rounds, sheer a bit of the cinnamon cream and alternate with your toppings.
    Serve chilled. So easy and delicious:)


    Summer time, is the best time to eat clean and light, don’t you agree? It’s hot out, and
    the last thing I want or crave during this time of year especially, is something heavy. Ugh. This is a great lunch idea. Now…for the vegetarians out there, clearly you won’t be using turkey breast, but….you could easily sub that out for some yummy sweet potato, beets, rotated carrots, or even seasoned tofu. Your call:) we all know, I love my protein, and by lunch time, I’m in serious need for something protein packed.


    I wanted to try out some of these new Laughing Cow flavors, so I made three faux sushi rolls using the Light Creamy Swiss, Garden Vegetable, and the Chive & Onion wedges. Omggggggggg. So bomb! What I LOVE about these, is that that is all you need to add flavor. No need for mayo, or to OD on salt and pepper. Each wedge packs a mean punch of yummy flavor.



    3 soy paper wraps

    Finely chopped romaine

    Organic herbed turkey breast

    3 favorite Laughing Cow wedges.

    3 of these roll ups for lunch, and you’re barely knocking on 200 calories! Whattttttt!

    When doing my research on this product, I came to realize how much our food system has changed! If you look at labels now, it’s hard to find products that don’t contain any soy, or high fructose corn syrup, and that all started as a way for manufactures to cut costs immensely.     First up:
    French Vanilla:)

    The thing with “French Vanilla Protein Powder” is that they all sort of taste the same to me. I like to switch up brands to see if I feel a difference between different “qualities” rather than “flavor. What I’m trying to say is,that you can tell this particular protein is better in quality.

    The great thing about purchasing “Vanilla” is that, it can be used in sooooo many ways. You get your monies worth. It’s got more of a subtle taste compared to some of the other flavors. It’s easy to mask the vanilla flavor a bit, not so much with chocolate or strawberry.

    On this particular morning….I was having a gnarly craving for protein pancakes.

    Since I’ve been knocking out my GPP Fitness workouts first thing in the morning, I am starved and my muscles are craving protein by the time the clock strikes 7:00 AM. LOL.

    This would be the perfect time to sample my French Vanilla APS Protein in baking!

    They are not quite as thick as pancakes, they are a bit thinner, so they won’t feel heavy in your belly. For those of you that prefer or need a VEGGIE PROTEIN, click HERE.



    I topped mine with a bit of Nature’s Hollow (sugar free) honey, sprinkled with hemp seeds, and a dollop of nut butter.

    Play around with this…top with different fruits, seeds, and yogurts.This is a great staple recipe. Try it with different flavor protein powders.




    Blueberry Protein Cakes

    Light and protein packed, these cakes are meant to rev up your metabolism. Who doesn’t love pancakes? Now, you can enjoy them guilt-free. Add these into your LEAN MEAL plan today!
    Serves: 1

    • 1 packet / 1 serving APS French Vanilla Grass Fed Whey Protein
    • ½ tsp baking powder
    • Pinch of cinnamon
    • ½ cup egg whites
    • A handful frozen (prefer organic) blueberries.

    1. In a bowl, mix dry ingredients first, making sure to really work in that baking powder (it tends to clump)
    2. Add egg whites and mix well.
    3. A hand mixer is ideal to remove all chunks, but if you’ve only got a whisk, then whisk away!
    4. Fold blueberries in last.
    5. Grease a small skillet, spoon in batter.
    6. **Please note, that the batter consistency is quite liquidy, so they do expand. Using a small skillet keeps them the right shape.
    7. **Also don’t pour too much batter at once.

    You can top with whatever you want! In this recipe, I topped my hotcakes with RAW HEMP SEEDS, and SUGAR-FREE HONEY

    Another GREAT way to add APS French Vanilla Protein is to add it to your oats! Yes..I call them PROATS. Don’t judge. It’s what they’re called in the gym world. Get into it.

    Oats are great for you. If you’re gonna eat carbs…eat oats. They are a fab source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and are very low in fat. Although good for you, they can really get boring. And…frankly, I won’t be adding sugar, raisins, and whole milk to them any time soon, so this is my delicious alternative.



    If you thought healthy and protein rich oats would be bland and not phenominal….think again. This recipe (below) will teach you a thing or two about how it should be done. You FITCHICK you;)



    PROATS! (Protein Oats)
    Prep time

    The perfect nutritionally balanced meal. Fuel your muscles with this power meal!
    Serves: 1

    • ½ cup oats (old fashioned,plain)
    • 1 packet/1 serving APS French Vanilla Grass Fed Protein
    • ¾ cup water
    • ¾ cup Unsweetened almond milk (I LOVE this one)
    • ½ tsp cinnamon
    • ⅓ cup egg whites
    • * Psyllium husks (for added fiber)
    • * A few drops stevia if you like a bit sweeter. Taste as you go!
    • * Chia seeps sprinkled on top
    • * A tbsp of your favorite nut butter. ( I LOVE this one)

    1. In a bowl, mix ½ cup oats and APS protein powder. Add boiling ¾ cup water.
    2. Stir well.
    3. Now, add ¾ cup Almond milk, stir and microwave for an extra 40 seconds.
    4. Add egg whites, and microwave for another 40 seconds- 1 minute.
    5. Add in cinammon and any other optional ingrediets!

    Again, I used the french vanilla whey in this recipe, but do not hesitate to switch it up. Chocolate would be great as well, add a lil stevia, a tbsp of cacao powder, and throw in some cacao nibs and VIOLA!



    Ok, sooooo….. this one’s gonna knock your socks off! Let me tell you, I LOVVVEEEEEE CHOCOCLATE!!!! If I could have it morning, noon, and night….I WOULD. For real.I’ve tries a few different chocolate WHEY proteins, but this one is by far the smoothest, lightest, and NON-grainy. Probably due to their high grade ingredients. I’m telling you people!!!!! Do your research! The reason why I liked it better, was that it wasn’t so sweet! I’ve had some issues with some of the chocolate protein powders being over the top sweet. No thanks. I can add stevia if I want it a bit sweeter, you know.



    The recipe I’m about to share with you is something you can whip up in merely 12 minutes! Yes, that includes the baking time;)



    I make it a priority to make these fun, yummy treats for myself because I deserve them;) Plus, I want to have something really AMAZING tasting, that is healthy for me, not something that is gonna jeopardize my hard work everyday at the gym, training at home, or my dancing. I want results.



    So, I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. (really loud this time) “YOU CAN HAVE YOUR CAKE & EAT IT TOO!”





    You’re gonna wanna jump through the screen, and make out with me after you try this cake!! Ekkkkkkkk, its soooo yummy!

    I tried the Bavarian chocolate in a shake, but I wanted to get down on some baking with it, so this is what I got!

    Pretty standard single serving protein cake, but it won’t ever get old.



    Single Serving Chocolate Protein Cake

    Have your cake and eat it it too!!
    Serves: 1

    • ½ cup APS Bavarian Chocolate Grass Fed Whey
    • 2 tbsp 100% cacao powder
    • ¾ cup egg whites
    • ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (I’m into this one)
    • 1 tbsp 100% cacao nibs
    • 3 drops stevia (if you like it a bit sweeter)

    1. In a bowl, mix dry ingredients first.
    2. Then add egg whites and almond milk.
    3. (add a few drops stevia if you would like)
    4. Mix very well!
    5. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes

    Serving size: 1 Calories: 290 Fat: 4 Carbohydrates: 14 Sugar: 3 Fiber: 4 Protein: 44

    With this recipe, be mindful of over cooking. Check it at 8 mins, but for sure out by 10 minutes. It should be soft and moist. If you don’t get it the first time, don’t fret, most likely your oven runs a bit hot. Keep making it and playing arund with this, cuz it’s sooo worth it;)

    ** I topped mine with some raw cacao nibs, which did I mention, are natures’ #1 antioxidant. Yep.


    * 1 tbsp nut butter

    *0% greek yogurt

    * Sugar free honey/syrup

    * 1/2 tsp coconut oil or ghee (especially if you dried it out a bit)

    Since I was a little girl…(here we go) lol…I have been strawberry obsessed! Fresh strawberries, Strawberry ice cream, Strawberry paletas, strawberry milk, it keeps going. You catch my drift. I’m just gonna go ahead and say…I’m pretty much a STRAWBERRY connoisseur. I’m not surprised that I left this for last!

    ok, so here’s the deal. The last Strawberry protein that I tries was About Time Whey protein. It was really damn good! So I was curious to see how this one would match up. In shakes, I prefer the About Time…In baking or other stuff…I way prefer APS Grass Fed. Now, this is strictly on flavor…..As far as ingredients and supplements, I think APS is a bit better quality, most likely why it probably tastes more natural, but About Time has less sugar and carbs. Only by a few, not a huge difference, but you choose;)


    Make some room babes…Here they come!

    These are so incredibly easy to make, your 6 year old could make them! Andddddd……. with 4th of July around the corner, why not cheat like everyone else?! Except….. you’re not really cheating with these perfect little morsels. Trust me, they taste like a total cheat. 😉 That’s part of the fun! A little red, white and….pink..Hmmmmm. You get it.





    With ONLY 100 calories for 2 mini muffins/cupcakes (whatever you wanna call em’) you are for  sure gonna wanna share this! Make them, snap a pic, follow @fromfriestofit and #hashtag #allproscience for a shoutout!!!


    The strawberry flavor is just the perfect amount and not too sweet. They are delicious. This recipe made 9 minis, I’ve scarfed down 5 already today….I feel no remorse. lol. Only LOVE!

    For  NET carbs, Minus the fiber from the carbs to calculate NET CARBS.  Carbs from fiber do not affect blood sugar levels, like carbs that aren’t from fiber.

    Mini Strawberry PROTEIN Muffins

    With 4th of July around the corner, these are the perfect little treat! They’re bite size and look super cute. Moist and delicious!
    Serves: 4

    • MUFFINS:
    • 1 serving Strawberry Creme APS Grass Fed whey Protein
    • 1 tbsp unsweetened/reduced fat shredded coconut
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tbsp coconut flour
    • ½ ripe banana
    • 5 egg whites
    • ¼ cup 0% Chobani (nonfat yogurt)
    • 2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    • 0% Chobani
    • 4 drops stevia
    • ½ tsp organic vanilla bean powder (u could also use any vanilla flavoring)

    1. MUFFINS:
    2. In a medium size bowl, mix all dry ingredients first. Protein, coconut flakes, baking powder, and coconut flour.
    3. Add egg whites, chobani, and almond milk and ½ ripe mashed banana.
    4. Put in blender or use hand mixer to thoroughly mix batter.
    5. Chop up 3-4 washed strawberries and FOLD into batter last.
    6. Grease your mini-muffin pan. I used a 12 mini muffin pan. You can also make regular sized muffins, you just may have to alter the time)
    7. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes
    10. with a hand mixer whip the yogurt, stevia, and vanilla until smooth.
    11. place the whipped topping in a pipping bag and swirl on top of muffins. (you could also use a plastic baggie, and make a small hole in the corner to pipe the yogurt swirl.)
    12. top with fresh strawberries.

    Aren’t they the cutest things ever! Have these made and finished in 20 minutes! I made mine with some shredded coconut for that  nutty flavor, but you are more than welcome to omit that step.

    Fusion Fest with Women’s Health Magazine & my interview with “The Next Fitness Star” finalist Kit Rich

    I am so excited to share with you all my fun day at the FUSION FEST put on by Women’s Health Magazine at Exhale Spa. I felt honored when they asked me to come and check it out and have a chance to speak with the “The Next Fitness Star” finalist Kit Rich. I am a HUGE fan of the magazine so I was STOKED to to be a part of it.


    I arrived at the Fairmont Miramar hotel on Ocean dr, and made my was through the gorgeous grounds to the spa. They directed me to the rooftop where I would be taking my first ever Core Fusion class! Yes, on the rooftop, in the open air. Absolutely stunning 360 views. I may be able to do this everyday, well, if I could afford it;)

    I arrived upstairs a bit early so, of course…snuck in a lil Gym selfie😉
    Btw… Thanks CHOBANI & OGIO for my sweet ass new gym bag. I’m totally obsessed!
    Since I was 30 min early, I did a quick bi & tri workout before heading out to the patio for my 5:10 pm class.


    The sun was out, but it wasn’t too hot. Just right. I’ve never taken a workout class that required sunglasses, but hell, I’ll roll with it. Especially if you throw in a DJ to pump out jams while you work out! I’ve tried every kind of work workout you could imagine, but never a Core Fusion class.


    The premise of the class focuses on core strength to create the ultimate full body workout. In this class we only used weights, but it’s ever changing. You may find yourself using weights, balls, bands, and your own body weight as resistance. The key to this regimen is the raise the heart rate to a point where you will continue to burn calories long after the class is Done.
    A total of one hour, and trust me, by the end of it you are shakin’ in your boots! I was already super sore from my GPP workouts this past weekend, so I was dying.


    After class, I headed down to the courtyard for the event. I was very impressed at how well the event was organized.


    We received some pretty fab gift bags with loads of goodies. Who doesn’t love swag!??? Thanks to everyone who hooked it up;)

    I was so happy to see the line up of contributors and vendors for this event as well. First off, one being one of my favorite alcohol lines “VEEV” One of the owners of the company happens to be a client of the salon, and couldn’t be sweeter, so I am happy to support. I’m not a huge hard alcohol lover, but this new line has got me hooked. I mean, not like alcoholic hooked, but you know what I mean. Lol.
    This company is based on organic, all natural ingredients. Most importantly being the world’s FIRST acai spirit with 1% of all proceeds going to rainforest preservation and environmental initiatives. This ish is a game changer.
    I was stoked to try their new line of VitaFrute super fruit cocktails. Premixed. All ya gotta do is pour over ice and serve. Holy dangerously DELICIOUS!


    These babes were hooking this chick up with some refreshing Vita Coco coconut water.
    I’m not gonna lie….I think coconut water taste like sweat…maybe like breast milk.. Hmm, either way, not a fan. I told them that, and they assured me that if I tried the mango/ peach flavor combo, I would rethink my gross comment. Welp…..what can I say…I was like dayyyyyyyyummmm. sooo yummy! A little too much sugar content for me, but ultra hydrating and not gross AT ALL! You know…..coconut water happens to be the BEST hangover cure…just sayin’
    I threw a couple in my swag bag and headed to my target!

    When Women’s Health Magazine contacted me about seeing if I was interested in speaking with one of the Next Fitness Stars, Kit Rich, I jumped at the opportunity! This is going to be huge y’all! It’s about time we developed a competition like this. After I’m sure, a ridiculous number of contestants signed up, auditioned, and sent videos, only five finalist were chosen. Once chosen will be flown to New York City where they will star in a video short showcasing their workout and participate in a photo shoot to appear on the “flip” cover of the July/August issue of Women’s Health. Videos will be posted online for readers and fans to vote on their favorite finalist and also sent to our celebrity panel to judge their top finalist.     I was excited for the chance to sit and chat with her, because in doing my research I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I knew that she was pilates based, had a big celebrity clientele, and was highly sought after, but, after what seemed like,” just a couple of Amigas chattin'”, I realized, there was much more to her and her vision of what’s to come in fitness.
    This girl couldn’t have been more sweet or real. She was on point and didn’t skip a bit. I like that. She answered all of my questions with no hesitation and with complete confidence in the direction she was going. I sat down with her, and the first thing she says to me is ” It’s so great to me you, From Fries to Fit huh?, tell me a bit about you and where that came from?!” I mean, I love her! I really appreciated that, she really made me feel like there was absolutely nothing else she’d rather be doing at that moment then talking to me. Trust me, there was craziness going on around us, so it was a bit loud;)
    This girl is headed to the TOP! She has an amazing sense of self and body awareness. In speaking to her, I realized we had a lot in common. Actually, thinking about it now, a lot of women will be able to relate to her.


    How long have you been in the Fitness/ Pilates industry, and how did you get into it?

    My story was not some crazy ” I used to be so fat, now I’m so skinny” story. My story started 9 years ago, very humbly, with a bad case of body dysmorphic disorder, and wanting nothing more in life but to gain a better sense of my body and myself. I started taking some Pilates classes, getting better and better, and one days, things just clicked for me. I knew that this was what I needed to be doing. Fitness was gonna be my life and career. I got certified and began teaching classes, and quickly gained a super loyal clientele. Now I mostly focus on teaching privately.

    What drives you as a trainer? How do you find the motivation?

    Look, to me, it’s not just about ” get fit, loose weight, work, work” that’s all great, but.. Jillian Michaels has that market on tap. My main focus, with what I do with my clients, and what I’m trying to get out there, is this:
    How did we get ourselves here?
    Why did we allow ourselves to work for fitness rather than making fitness work for us?
    I think it’s about self awareness, using the tools that each one of us has, but doesn’t always use, and using those internal tools to create motivation and balance in workouts, and in life. The less you stress, the more you can feel your best. I create workouts that are effective, target your entire body, and help you find your own motivational tools to want to push yourself to do it better next time.

    Did you ever expect to be “The Next Fitness Star” finalist “?

    I know! Crazy, right!? You know, 3 years ago, I auditioned on Oprah’s OWN network casting for “The Next TV Star” and made it to the top 20, but didn’t make it to the top. It must have been meant to be that now, we are sitting here, and I’m in the top 5 for “The Next Fitness Star” I feel honored, this is where I should be.

    Kit, tell us…..any secret fat burning tips?

    Really, it’s no secret at all. — If your diet contains less energy than your body expends, you will lose weight. In other words, It’s about what you are putting in your body and how much of it, in relation to how much you are physically working your body to expend the calories you just consumed. I believe in 80/20. Moderation is key, and we must work, everyday, to ensure that balance stays in tact. Self control and motivation will drive you to that lifestyle.

    What can we expect from Kit Rich in the future? Where do you see yourself and company in the next 5-10 years?

    It’s just the beginning, and I couldn’t be more excited! I see books, DVD’s, camps, shows. All of it. I’m here to change the way we see fitness and ourselves. I want to help people look their best while becoming the best they can be inside. The future is bright, that’s for sure!

    When I finished my interview, I spotted these cute gals with some amazing workout gear I had never seen before. As I went through their rack of super cute digs, I chatted with the girls to get a bit of background on Strut This fitness wear. First of all, it’s a mother-daughter run and owned business, which I love. I’m all about supporting local and small businesses, you know that. Especially, if I’m loving their product.
    The material is to die for, and super soft. You can really tell, they didn’t cut corners here.


    I couldn’t leave of course, without trying out their super cute capris and tops, so I purchased a few things to take home and review. Please be on the lookout for my review on Strut This.
    Listen, I know, who doesn’t love Lululemon, but on the real, they are just sooooo expensive. Ugh. I was seriously looking for something new and fresh that I could sport in Zumba, hiking, traveling, and hardcore gym workouts, while NOT Breaking the bank.

    Good day, good day beauties…. You know what I LOVE about, What I Ate Wednesday’s……… WHAT I ATE ON WEDNESDAY;)
    Since I am not in the salon anymore today, I really get to sit, create and enjoy some great lookin’ meals. Well, you be the judge;)
    I am finally starting to get back into the groove of things after a very exciting and fun weekend away at the blend retreat. I taught Zumba this morning at 10:30, and to be honest, I didn’t know if I was gonna make it through it! I am still sooooooooo
    Sore from the GPP workouts, that yesterday, I needed help walking down the stairs! Geeeeez. Whatever…suck it up Paula, you loved that shit. Oh yes I did. Can’t wait to start my GPP Fitness ritual starting next week.
    6 days on- Sundays off. Yikes. Nervous to be doing these alone. I will be posting the workouts, so please do them with me;)

    Seriously, you need to get down on this ish. CHIA PEANUT BUTTER! ok, I love all nut butters, and since I am a fanatic, I like to try out every single one on the market! I don’t like to get bored you see. This was a really nice alternative!

    I considered today, a special Wednesday. You know why? Cuz I got back from Utah with soooo much swag to try! Woohoo!
    I tried my first scoop of Fit mixer today for much needed energy. It was pretty great! I liked that there weren’t any artificial ingredients, and that it truly felt good in my body. It also contains natural colors and flavors from beets, strawberries, and coconuts, and is naturally energizing due to its main ingredients of Palatinose and green tea and green coffee extracts. I was on fire today, and actually burned 40 more cals than I have been lately:) Maybe it’s because This stuff contains Raspberry Ketones to help you burn fat quickly while maintaining energy levels throughout your workout*. It also delivers Palatinose, a slow-burning carbohydrate designed to support sustained energy throughout the day
    I’m gonna keep it up and see how it works out for me. We’ll see. Curious to try their other products.


    Another product I tried today ( 2 hrs before teaching) was Shroom Tech by Onnit. I’m usually quite weary about changing around my supplements. I honestly usually just stick to CLA, green tea, protein, and an energizing mixer per-workout, but, since hearing a lot of buzz about this company, and once chatting with them at the retreat this past weekend, I was very interested. Today was my first day, so I’ll have to revisit this product & review once I start becoming more aware of how my body is being effected.

    Today’s class was super fun & the polar doesn’t lie! 711 CALORIES! Hot damnnnn! in Zumba, you have got to let go and dance your ass off. FULL OUT. Make it count.

    I, no surprise, am like a starting child after class, so I made sure to pack one of my homemade blueberry protein shakes to take with me. I swear, if I try are run around town after class, and don’t put anything in my belly, I will start to convulse. Hardly, but vey O-so very shaky. Not cute. This holds me over and tastes like a dessert;)

    Vanilla Blueberry Protein Shake:

    1 scoop About Time Vanilla whey protein.

    1 cup 30 calorie unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk by SILK.

    2 heaping tbsp of 0% CHOBANI Greek yogurt

    1/4-1/2 cup organic frozen or fresh blueberries

    4 drops NuNaturals stevia extract drops

    2 drops of vanilla extract

    3 ice cubes

    1 tbsp chia seeds

    By far best part of the day!

    I had lunch with a girlfriend at this AMAZING Place in North Hollywood called HealthyCA.
    This place is a total hidden gem! It’s mostly a catering place I think, cuz the actual restaurant portion is tiny. They can really only seat a handful of peeps there, so your best bet is to walk in, order at the counter, and ask for it to go. Te pics say it all. We couldn’t quite make up our minds as to what each one of us wanted, so we opted to split each entree. I like to share and try everything;)

    I mean, seriously. I kinda want to make it a ritual of going there every Wednesday, and calling it a “treat meal” cuz it ain’t no ” cheat meal” that’s for sure. It couldn’t get more, CLEAN, ORGANIC AND GLUTEN FREE.

    Finally….NAILS. I got a proper mani/pedi and enjoyed every bit of it. I was getting GEL nails, but decided to give my lil nails a break. Plus, I can’t help but get a bit freaked by those uv lamps they make you stick your hands under. Can’t be good after a while. I would always forget to put sunscreen in my bag:(

    I used to do the spa chairs, until one of my friends got fuckin’ mersa ( flesh eating bacteria in her toe) from the bowl not properly being disinfected. Hell no, I’ll stick to the disposable plastic tub inserts. Byeeee

    My new favorite “before dinner snack”. All of you, I’m sure, know I DIE for cottage cheese. This concoction I believe I’ve shared on Instagram before. I could have it every single day, I no lie.

    Today was my lucky day… My student and dear friend brought me fresh lemons from her tree. Lemons are the key to my heart and soul! Thanks Jamina!

    I wanted to share my newest purchase;) I can’t believe I walked out of target and ONLY bought NAPKINS!!! Whattttttt! It’s a miracle. Loving my new Mara-Mi napkins! Aren’t the the best!? I want more!!!

    Blend Retreat 2013 in Salt Lake City with some AMAZING beauties!

    Hello my lovelies! Ok, so it’s not quite the morning after my return, but yesterday I got caught up reorganizing my life and settling back in!
    What an AMAZING weekend that was! Most if you who follow my life/blog know that I’ve been planning to take part in this fun, fitness blogger retreat in Salt Lake City, Utah, but didn’t know quite what to expect. Well, I wasn’t the only one who was a bit nervous, let me tell you;) I guess, if you really think about it…”I’m about to spend 3 days with people I’ve never met, in fact share a bed with a chick I’ve never met..” Hmmmmmm, the thought was a little funny, but hell, you only live once! Lol.


    I flew out of Long Beach ridiculous early on Friday morning, and while standing in line to check in, I ran into my blendee! She tapped me on the back and said, “Gina?” I turned around and said ” um no but,….Blend retreat???” Yay! My first meet with Bobbi McCormick from .She is a total sweetheart. Right away we hit it off! Thank goodness I found her, cuz I tend to never know what the hell is going on, ever. She had arranged to go straight to the GPP fitness gym with a few other girls to start the weekend with a killer workout. So, I hopped on the opportunity to hitch a ride with them, and try out this gym that I had heard so many great things about.




    The gym was quite big, spacious, and super clean. It looked like a “crossfit” gym and typically, I get a little intimidated walking into these types of gyms. After my workout, I learned, GPP is a beast of its own. In a REALLY good way. This was our first workout of the weekend.

    I have never done anything like this. I cant even describe it, that’s why I posted this video. I wanted you all to see, and experience what I did. I had a feeling that my idea of “Sore”, was gonna have a new meaning. What’s soooo great about this company, is that they realize that they are not everywhere, so they offer their workouts FREE online every single day! I know, I CANNOT WAIT to start incorporating this into my day to day life. With that said. In 35-40 minutes….my body was like jello.

    This is what I LOVE about their philosophy:

    GPP is about getting you healthy. Period.

    We believe the only worthy reason to exercise and eat right is so that we can lead richer, fuller lives. Lives not limited by capacity and/or self-induced disease.

    At GPP we realize that health isn’t about who the fittest person in the world is. It isn’t about who can lift the most weight, run the fastest, or obtain the highest work capacity imaginable. These things are silly, wasteful pursuits. They have no meaning. They serve no purpose.

    Instead, get your workout in and go home. Go be a human. Do things that interest/edify you. Contribute to your family, your community and/or society.

    Staying at the gym and pounding out more workouts, so that tomorrow you’ll have more capacity to perform even more working out, so that then, you will be able to do yet ANOTHER even more difficult workout, only serves the workout. It can also become a black hole of intention, focus and purpose. This black hole is filled with everything which is opposite of health.

    At GPP we do NOT serve our workouts (read, “the Demotion of Exercise). For we realize it is our workout’s job to serve us. We would much rather put energy into activities which are less based on self and more focused on what is truly important.

    We couldn’t check in until 3, so all the girlies decided it was time to get down on some grub. It was now 1 o’clock, and we all know how hungry we get after a killer workout. Hello STARVING! We were referred to a local favorite called Plates & Palates.



    Everything was soooo fresh, and made right in front of you. Simple eating. Salads, Sandwiches, soups, fresh juices, and gluten free desserts. Amazing! I ordered the Greek chicken caeser w/o dressing. Didn’t need it. Soooo tasty! There were 8 of us blendees at lunch, so it was nice to get to know each other a bit before being bombarded with 50 new names and faces to memorize;) lol.



    Finally, we arrived at our beautiful destination! It was time to check in to the Hyatt Escala Lodge, in Park city Utah. Not only is the resort absolutely stunning, and service impeccable… also are greeted every morning, day, and night by a ken doll look-a-like who couldn’t be a bigger sweetheart! Scott, was his name, but we re-named him “dreamboat”. He doesn’t know that yet, but I’m sure he knows he’s very good at his job. Lol.
    A bit cloudy and drizzly out but who give a F*@k, do you see this place!? It was actually a nice change for me. If you’re from LA, in “almost summer”,then you appreciate nothing more than fresh, clean air. oh, and a cloud here n there is like a gift sent from above! Absolutely beautiful. Get used to that word, cuz that is exactly what I think of Utah, and I’ll be saying that a lot:)

    When we checked in, we were greeted by the ladies who were responsible for this fantastic retreat. Lindsay W, Janetha, and Katie, also fellow fit bloggers. Super sweet Amigas! We were handed a badge with out full name, and blog name, since most everyone would know me as “fromfriestofit” anyway…. Along with a ridiculous Ogio bag filled with SWAG from all the sponsors! Who doesn’t love free shit!? It just keeps on gettin’ better.

    Finally found my roomies!!! Meg from runfitkin, Lindsey from runstretchrepeat, and Steph from wholesomebydesign.
    I couldn’t have asked for sweeter roomies! We had such a great time together!

    Justin’s Nut butter, attune foods, and Green Mountain Coffee sponsored a lovely snack hour while all us blendees mingled and laughed about how we would forget each others names 2 seconds after meeting, but promised to remember by the end of the retreat.

    After a couple hours, we all headed back to our rooms to shower up, unpack, and get ready for the opening ceremony dinner.

    But not before an AWESOME cocktail hour hosted by Silk! (Also happens to be my favorite milk alternative;)
    Hors d’oeuvres were…fresh veggies with loads of different dips, black bean & chipotle cakes, and gorgeous veggie spring rolls. Yummmmmm.




    Had a crazy connection with these chickies! Love them, and can’t wait to visit them in Nebraska!

    It was nice for all of us to finally get out of our workout clothes, and get a little dressy:)

    My favorite drink was the strawberry mint slushy! My god, it was the bomb! I gotta be careful around those types of drinks, they go down wayyyyy to smooth. Uh oh.     Ok sooooo, I can’t lie. When I saw my favorite twins at the airport, I was like ahhhhhhhhhh. Oooommmmmggggggg. Purely Twins are my celeb fit blogger crush. If you don’t already follow the, get real, you’re missing out. They are super sweet girls who, not only once owned there own raw food bakery, they now have a wonderful e book, come up with killer workouts, and create recipes that are genius! They were an absolute pleasure:)


    Dinner was delicious and clean of course. White fish, chicken, quinoa cakes, loads of salad, roasted root veggie soup… Eat it alllll up. Duh.


    Dessert was oh so heavenly… Of course I had to try a bite of each one….you really can’t expect me not to do that… Plus everyone did it:)
    That little panna cotta was actually made with chobani Greek yogurt! Healthy!!!!
    I skipped out on the crust of the tart…homegirl was freakin full at this point, oh and I was 3 glasses of red wine in….time for bed. GPP bootcamp at 7:00am. Nice.


    Woke up Saturday morning feeling and looking like a CHAMP. NOT. Here we go. 7:00 am wake up call for the second workout of the weekend. When I say this was GNARLY…..pleeeeeaseee don’t underestimate me. This was insane!
    BURPEES, PUSH UPS, SQUATS OH MYYYYYYYYY. Even if I felt like I was gonna die, I pushed through and felt amazing afterward. All I knew was, when I finished, I would run straight to the breakfast buffet. Like a cow.

    Straight to that shit I went! First stop….Muesli Fusion. All natural, organic and a-mazing. my favorite is the athlete fuel, sweetened with nothing but fruit, and packed with protein!

    Totally balanced breakfast. I threw in a chobani flavor that I hadn’t tried yet. Delish, but didn’t end up finishing it, too full. Story of my life. Lol.

    The Laughing Cow also provided us with some ridiculous 1/3 fat cream cheese. I’m totally obsessed with these new flavors. Instead of spreading it on a bagel, I opted instead for eating it on my fruit. Freakin genius! Thank you, thank you for being a generous sponsor!


    After breakfast, we all met back in the lobby to see if the group hike was still on. It had been a bit rainy, so we thought it would be way to muddy. But it stopped raining, and we said effffff it, we’re going. Pro Bar sponsored this hike and offered a few of their products for us to take in our packs.

    We grabbed one of each. A probar BOLT, and a probar FUEL. Dressed warm, and ready to rock.
    And…..we were off. Chilly, yes. Unbearable, no. This place is absolutely stunning. Everywhere you look…stunning!!!!! More than half of us went on the hike, the others opted for a ZUMBA class. Obviously, since I teach ZUMBA, and do it 2x a week….I wanted the outdoors experience.

    Ok, this is we’re things got a bit rough….and when some Amigas decided to turned around. Perhaps smart. Muddy enough…..ughhhhh. Not gonna lie, most girls had to throw away their shoes after it was over. Packing them to take back in their luggage would’ve been painful. My dumb ass of course wore my really nice trail racing Salomons, so I was like “bitch pleeeease, I’m about to sit in the bathroom and wash these bad boys out in the sink” I was so not about to throw them out. They did warn us to bring old piece of shit shoes, but oooops, I forgot:(
    A 4 mile loop though this gorgeous terrain, made the fact that my shoes felt like they were gonna come off with each stop, completely worth it:) it was peaceful, and the air was clean & crisp.



    On the way up, I snuck a bite of my fuel PROBAR. Yum. It was fruity and nutty. It kinda reminded me of a larabar. Quite similar actually. Really tasty. Gluten free, and all natural sugars.


    Got to our midway point, and ate the rest of my bar. I just don’t get why I’m so hungry all the damn time. It’s crazy! It was time for a photo op. the more I ate it, the more I liked it:)

    This retreat was so organized. I love it. We arrived back to snack hour put on by ONNIT. The lovely Orlando, and Whitney, Miss United States blessed us with a delicious protein shake made with their hemp force protein powder. We also tried some of their nut butters and protein bars. He’ll yessss! I was actually really impressed with their products, and overall information of the Company.They also were giving out samples of their supplements, in which, after researching, have been a huge hit in the fitness industry. Shroom Tech, and Alpha Brain. ONNIT stands for brain and body health, total human optimization. Pretty amazing company with a vast line up of athletes, and medical professionals. Check them out please and do you’re research. Especially if looking for a new outlook on fitness, foods, and supplements.

    Once showered up and relaxed, it was time to meet up with the chickies and head into town for dinner. We met in the lobby lookin alllll sorts of’ cute, flirted with “Dreamboat” aka “ken doll”, and headed to sushi in Park City;)
    Cutest little downtown evaaaaa! Really….you aren’t surprised that we were once again looking for food.? Lol

    We went to a local hot spot for some raw fishies at Yuki Arashi Sushi.

    Really nice folks, and SCORE, sushi was 1/2 off. Whatttttttt.


    Nope, didn’t eat the rice from the sushi. I was that annoying girl. But whatever, Maren was scraping the tempura off her “tempura” roll. F*%king hilarious. We were in the corner, so, luckily our waiter didn’t spot us being fussy and high maintenance. Ha.

    Stuffed and feeling like a beached whale, naturally, I decided it was a good time to shop for clothes. Meg and I stopped in to this super cute boutique called Olive & Tweed.
    Not only did they have super cute clothes, they also showcased some beautiful and unique jewelry from local designers. I picked up a silky tank, a bronzed arm band (I’m convinced they’re making a comeback) and some gorge rose gold drop earrings.
    Happy with my purchases, it was time to head back.


    Home….pshhhhhh. Home meant party at the suite! Janetha’s sweet mom (Momma B) was makin’ her famous “Utah Scones” more like DONUTS! lord give me strength. This suite was huge, so most of the blendees were there. It was so nice. It was like a night out with everyone. It was packed with peeps, wine, and ” scones”. My kind of fun;)

    I called it kind of an early night, seeing that the night before I had 1/2 a bottle of wine (who’s counting) so sat night, I wanted to make sure I got enough sleep for the 7:00 am wake up with GPP workout!
    Before heading in, I picked up a tank from one of my fave fit chicks, Miranda from Living Proof Gear. Super sweet girl. She hooked it up with a tank for every single one of our swag bags. This chick is the real deal! Thanks boo. Pick yours up here.
    Our workout again was, no exaggeration, hard, crazy, painful, but INCREDIBLE. as I finish of this post actually, I am about to go soak in Epsom salt. Yeah, that’s right, 2 days later. Say much?
    Before heading to breakfast, which, duh, I was dying for….I had a chance to take some pics with 2 of the trainers from the GPP fitness team. These girls inspired me to keep going and push myself.

    Sunday morning….we just finished our workout…I think it’s time for breakfast. Today’s breakfast brought to you by some really great peeps. One being Chobani. You would be surprised how many ways in which to utilize Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is a great source of probiotics and protein. Here are my Chobani Amigas!

    I also couldn’t help myself in trying the Chobani based shakes. It’s was a bit dangerous I must say…I couldn’t get enough of the peanut butter shakes. Candy in my mouth, no joke.

    So sad this weekend was coming to an end:( after breakfast we all headed upstairs to pack up our suitecases. Wahhhhhhhhh. More exciting though, was the raffle they had set up for us before heading out on the road. Apparently, everybody wins! Yippeeeeee. Did I mention, I’m lucky;)?

    Blue diamond was generous in donating boxes of their new almond floors, which are so BOMB BTW. They are promoting thir new favors out now, which are…blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, and toasted coconut. Haven’t tried all the favors yet but, knowing me…my fave will be strawberry;)
    I was right! Everyone won something! I love this. It was so fun. I wanted soooo bad to win that nuttzo, I practically peed my pants when they announced my name!
    Well, since everyone won something the first round…. They threw the names back in for the few raffle products they had left. Hallelujah….I won again! What did I tell you!? This time…. A case of Chobani yogurt delivered to me! Oooommmgggggg. I was in foodie heaven. Sorry, not sorry.

    After the raffle, sadly, everyone had to start making their way to the airport:( Bobbi and I’s flight didn’t leave till 7:00 pm, so wwe had some time to do something before heading out. Lucky for me, Bobbi invited me to head up to sundae with she and a friend of hers who lived nearly. Ummm, yeahhhh. Cynthia (sweet as pie) picked us up for a beautiful trip trough salt lake into Sundance.
    Destination: the Robert Redford Sundance Resort. It’s beauty: remarkable.
    The views were more than impressive. During this time, it’s packed with mountain bikers using the lifts to take their bikes all the way to the top and ride their crazy asses down. A creek running through the front of the restaurant. I couldn’t help but stop and marvel. Listen, I never see this in LA, leave me alone;)

    Constantly amazed by the richness in colors and green all around me. Made me wish we had more rain in LA.

    We enjoyed a late lunch at The Owl Bar. It was quaint, and charming, with an old country western vibe.

    When we realized it was the last hours of our vacation, first thought was…yup, time for a cocktail.

    We ordered shrimp ceviche, rep pepper hummus, lettuce wraps and fish tostadas. Hungry a girls;)
    Sadly, after lunch…it was time to leave beautiful Utah, and head back o reality. Back to LA, back to work, back to life. Oh I forgot to mention. Only cuz I gotta hold myself accountable…. I had pink berry at the airport. There, I said it. It’s done now;)

    Overall, I’d say it was a prrrrrettty sweet weekend, don’t cha think?? Kind of a long post, but I wanted to recreate what an awesome time I had with all of you. I hope you enjoyed it, and I want to send some special thanks:

    So…I’ve got news….oh andddddddd. A very exciting GIVEAWAY!!!
    #1: I don’t tie my shoes anymore…yep, that’s right. I’ve jumped on the Lock laces bandwagon. Not only have I jumped on it, but so have all my running and ZUMBA friends.
    Never tie a shoe again. This may or may not be somewhat revolutionary;)
    I’ve switched out every single one of my workout shoes, and I couldn’t be more stoked about my decision.
    To be totally honest with you, before the wonderful folks at Lock Laces sent me a few pair to try, I never once thought that this would be something of worth, but when I gave them a try, and saw what great quality they were, and how easy it was, I was a bit obsessed. The best part is that they are not hideous at all! lol. They are actually the freaking buzz round’ here!


    I made a point to have my marathon running friend try them out as she trained for her 1/2 marathon coming up, and she had nothing but praise.



    I wore them to my ZUMBA class, and my fellow instructors were ready to purchase a pair right then n’ there. Oh snap, we’ve got something here, y’all.

    LOCK LACES are designed to eliminate tight spots, banding, and pressure points. The lacing system is very lightweight. With a combo of stretch-fit comfort and locked-in safety we’ve got a winner for sure. Oh ANDDDDDD they are water-resistant & come in various colors to match your gym shoe collecton.
