Hello lovely friends! Hope the week is going smooth sailin for all of you! Since being back from San Francisco, I’ve been laying low and trying to get back on track to clean eating and hard, intense workouts. I’m finally feeling back to normal and less heavy, lol! For those of you interested…my workouts have really changed lately….

1: MORE CARDIO 30-50 mins 5x a week (med-hard + intervals)

2: NOT AS HEAVY weight training

3: using more BODY WEIGHT and less rest.

5: 1-2 REST days

For me…I really love tricking my body everyday and switching it up. This combo has really helped my body get back on track after my binge. Also been incorporating the NIKE TRAINING APP for more of a TOTAL BODY WORKOUT.
Loving this! I must admit..the hardest part, is getting out of bed at 5:30 am to hit the gym .
REMEMBER: The only workout you will regret…is the one you DIDIN’T do!

Today is a short but sweet and yummy vegan post:) lol. Remember I said recently, that I wanted to start cutting out a lot of animal products ?? Well…I’ve been doing exactly that. I mean, no…I’m not going full on vegan or anything, but I gotta say y’all….. Since cutting out a lot of dairy and and meats, I’ve been feeling reallllllly GREAT! Definitely less bloated and lighter on my feet. I’m still always enjoying my egg whites (cage free of course) and occasional salmon and chicken. I just can’t totally cut it out. I enjoy it wayyyyyy to much.
So, as an homage to all my VEGAN HOMIES…I’ve been playing around with my veggies, and came up with this super yummy “steak” lol. You know what I mean…;)

This recipe is soooo easy! You will notice that there are no measurements. That’s because, all you do, is cut that shit up, then sprinkle all these things on my list and bake that shit. Top with some other stuff.. Blah blah. Sooooo easy and DELICIOUS.
BTW…. did you know that cauliflower is the new kale!?!?
Yup! The new superfood. It’s all the rage. Sure…it may cause a little gas…but I mean, shut up.

quick note: make sure you buy A very large one;)
OHHH and… You will probably only get 3 steaks out of it.. So just roast the rest (the pieces that fall) later. NO WASTING!

Easy Cheesy Vegan Cauliflower Steaks

  1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cut Thick slices of cauliflower and place on a greased baking sheet.
  3. Sprinkle with all your seasonings & spices. Flip over carefully and season other side as well.
  4. I like a bit of browning on both sides, so I generously spray the coconut oil.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes then…sprinkle your almond cheese over the top & continue to bake till golden and slightly browned and crispy for another 5-10 minutes. About 20-25 minutes total.
  6. Remove..let cool, and serve with a dollop of “yogurt” and chopped parsley

Color tends to trick the eye…so it’s natural, bright yellow color makes me think I’ve got loads of cheese on it, when really, it’s just sprinkled;)
Sooooo healthy hunnnnnay!
Aren’t these beauties! Oh and only 95 calories per loaded steak!

Anddddddd….yes. I do leave the kitchen. Sometimes. Only for large doses of vitamin D. Lol. This week has been absolutely beeeeautifulllll in sunny LA. I’m tryin to get brown y’all. Like, for real though. I swear, the sun makes me not such a bitch. ;)

As the season turns, and the sun starts beaming, I go into full blown summer vibe! All I want is fresh, FRESH fruit! Pineapple is the shit right now. I went nuts at whole foods! $ 2.99 EACH! I immediately threw 3 in my basket and ran home only to end up scarfing 1/2 a freakin whole one to myself. Gurrrrrl, byeeeeeee.
I know, I know…..
You know what?
AIN’T nobaaaaaaady Eva get fat off eatin to much fruit! Okaaaaaayyyyyyy.

So, anyway…….this is my typical daily serving… Lol.
So…to sum things up…..
Ok so, I wanted to share my new “Brita” replacement! I am a HUGE advocate of drinking water! I am also guilty at times for not hydrating my body enough, and I always regret it. The sweet folks over at Camelbak sent me over this awesome Relay filter system to give it a try. Hmmmm. I was like…”these things are all the same. Ok. Whatever. Send it. “

Ok…I was NOT compensated for this review. This is my opinion only. But seriously…you need to pay attention. I was in awwwwwww when I started using this.
Most importantly to me….I DO NOT want to sit around and wait for 7 minutes for my water to filter through the damn thing. Ain’t nobody got time fo dat!
GUESS WHAT!? this is 10x FASTER!!!
This has absolutely no waiting time, and the filter lasts 4 full months.
The pleated filter is made of plant-based activated carbon. Yes please & thank u…..
Oh & testing results show 97% removal of chlorine, taste and odor. I’ve tried both the Brita and the Mavea. Both never seemed to quite get that metal and tap water taste out of it. Disappointing.
I could not be more stoked to have this. It’s totally worth $36.99!
It’s spill proof, holds up to 10 cups, BPA FREE & dishwasher safe…andddddd
Camelbak has ya BAK for a lifetime warranty. I mean…….
No will thank me. If you live in LA…BITCH ITS HOT. DRINK WATER!!!!
Get yours at Camelbak, target, bed bath & beyond.
Anyway…sorry for rambling. But I’m sticking to this baby!
Hydrate. Hydrate .HYDRATE!
Eat clean..train mean…
Love uuuuuuuu

I am thankful.

With “The day of THANKS” behind us, I can hardly believe it’s time for christmas shopping, putting up lights….etc. GEEEEEZ! That came soooo fast. I feel like Thanksgiving just flew right past me. Although turkey leftovers are finally devoured, I cant help but continue to reflect and feel absolutely grateful for this special day. Here a few shots from Thanksgiving;)

My beautiful family. Missing my brother, but he was there in spirit. Well, more like skype, but, whateves!

We not only celebrated Thanksgiving on this day, but also, Mom’s bday!

We started eating pretty damn early. Come to think of it….drinking too;) By 11 am, turkey was already done, and warm in the oven, mashed potatoes done, and we were making hard boiled eggs. A fuckin FAVE!!!!
20131202-174543.jpgIm sorry but…you cant have a party without baked brie! this is super easy and is a HIT in any kind of party!

All you do is….place whole block-a-brie in a small baking dish, top with fresh made fruit compote ( We made our own raspberry chia jam), crumble some almonds over top, and bake until cheese is oozing out the sides! WHAT?! I know, sooo bomb. That shiz was gone in 0-60 seconds. byeeeeee

The ladies in my life…..I should’ve gotten in this shot. And this lil lady, Emma, is finally walking;)20131202-174645.jpg

This is my absolute favorite pic. My pops with Emma. Ok, so…..partly because she looks identical to me when I was her age. No joke. Mirror image. It was crazy to see them together. I felt like I was seeing myself, “daddy’s girl” 28 years ago. Wow.

The curls, the eyes, the chheks. Love this munchkin. I WANT ONEEEEEE!! haha

My cousin SeanJay is staying with my folks while going to music school in burbank, so he celebrated with us, as well as his parents. BTW….amazing aunt & uncle;) Soooo happy to have had them visit from Las Vegas!

Unfortunately I didn’t get many shots of the actual dinner;( maybe that’s because I was stuffing my face like a hippo. Did I mention that I’ve gained 10 POUNDS this month?!!!!!! holy jesus cristo!!!!!!!Yep, that’s what happens when

#1: you burn out

#2: you’re happy

lol, whatever.

Of course, I managed to snap a pic of my dessert. I ate the shit outta that SUGAR FREE CHEESECAKE.

No one could tell it was a “healthified” version of a cheesecake. Like seriously, people are obsessed with this recipe. I’m proud;) I usually serve as individual cheesecake rounds, but it wasn’t working out for me. To make time, I just cut up bite sized squares.

The other cut up cake you see in the center, that’s a traditional argentinian cake called PASTAFROLA. Made from shortbread and quince jelly, It’s like nothing you’ve everrrrrrr had! It’s delicious and flaky, and melts in your effin’ mouth!

Anyway…we had a fabulous time, and now…..I’m ready for:

Wait. Before I suffocate you with photos of my Santa’s Village apartment decorations, I just wanted to share a couple of shots from this past Sunday. The long weekend ended wayyyy to soon!!!

Marcin and I have been talking about trying this super cute cafe by his place. Literati Cafe has been on our list, and we finally made there for a super yummy brunch on Sunday morning. In the heart of West La, on Wilshire, (one of the busiest streets ever) you wouldn’t even guess it. Thanks to the beautiful and serene garden patio, you get such a great local, mellow vibe. I loved it. It was like a little gem. I highly recommend you try it out. I loved that they were dog friendly in the patio area, and nobody was “LA” stuffy, you know!?20131202-174936.jpg

We tend to share everything we have at restaurants, to be able to try a little of everything. It’s really funny actually…when we first met, he told me that he was an only child. First thing I thought was….( & said) “oh god, do you have problems sharing? Cuz I love sharing…especially food.” lol. He was like, “ummmm, no, I mean….no, I don’t think so….” hahahaha

The breakfast menu is ridiculous! I reallllllllly was eying the griddle cakes and french toast, but stuck with something on the healthier side. lol. I ordered the VEGGIE MELT form the lunch menu, and it was soooo good. I didn’t realize how much I liked sprouts in my sandwiches. Yummmmmm.

Marcin ordered the chicken pesto sandwich which was on ciabatta bread. It was good, but I think mine was better.Maybe the chicken breast was a little dry.  We also split a side of kale chips and shared a glass of chardonnay & pinot grigio. It was a beautiful sunny day, which means….day drinking is completely acceptable. Grrrreat.

We walked back home and I believe took a bit of a nap. Hmmm, I never used to nap. Lately, I’m kind of  into it. After a waking up and realizing it was still amazing out. It was safe to say…we needed to seize the day. We leashed Willy and headed to Santa Monica for a nice beach walk. I completely obsessed with my new black Friday find, my NIKE lunar sprints. The are like…heaven on your feet. Like a god damn cloud!!!! They are available in quite a few colors, but I believe they are “youth”. So, I wear a size 7.5 in women’s, and in youth, I am a 6.20131202-174959.jpg

Willy is the happiest when he’s at the beach. Makes me a happy mommy. These two….sighhhhhhhhh<3

Before heading to dinner at Warszawa, we caught a beautiful sunset. Finally used the “panoramic” setting on my Iphone. Have any of you ever caught the supposed “green light” that flashes when the sun is about to set???

We watched, stared, but….never happened. Still stunning skies all around. So lucky to be in LA. This is a December evening on the beach I mean… c’mon!

This weekend’s awesome find, were these fab earrings from World Market. They’ve got some beautiful stuff. I can never leave this store without buying:

#1 a fabulous bottle of red

#2 a beautiful piece of jewelry

#3 some home decor item

I went in there to see if I could find some cute x-mas decorative pillows to finalize my “North Pole apartment” but, unfortunately didn’t find them. Instead, I found these gems!

I’ve decided to finally get off my ass…and get back to a workout routine. This month has been crazy, and I really let myself go. I’m not saying that I’m freaking out and obsessing over it, but I’m ready to get back on it. I realize that I don’t like the way I feel when I’m carrying that bit of extra weight. There…I ate, I drank…A LOT. And now, I’m ready for moderation. I’m getting into my 30′s (January 31) and I realize that I just can’t keep fluctuating that much. The bingeing will catch up to me and it’s gotta stop. So that will be the start of my new year’s resolution I think.

Anyway, with that said…Here is my accountability. I am posting my workouts for the week. Start small. Reach your goals by writing them down. Do not beat yourself up. That starts a vicious cycle of guilt and anxiety. Instead, focus on your progress, and cut yourself some slack. No one is perfect. We are our own worst critics. Remember…to those who love us, to them…we are perfect just the way we are;) <3

LIVE FIT WEEK 2 RECAP & some amazing RECIPES to keep you on track!

In At home cooking, bodybuilding, Breakfast, clean food, cleanse, fitness, fitness plan, LIVE FIT TRAINER, meal prepping, new faves, popular recipes, protein, Sunday funday, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule On September 21, 2013 1 Comment

Happy weekend my loves!!! Today is Saturday, ( I’m sure you won’t be getting this post till tomorrow though;) but….I wanted to start catching you all up on how well the LIVE FIT TRAINER program has been going.

I just finished 2 weeks, and I feel super fit. I’ve been lifting heavier than I have ever lifted, without any cardio. Well, except my Zumba class on Mondays;) shhhh. Don’t tell Jamie Eason :)

Anyway…if I didn’t know the extreme importance of a healthy diet then…… I sure doooooooo now!!!!! Wow! I was actually imaging my body looking like a fuckin gladiator with all this lifting and no cardio, but in fact, the opposite. My body feels tighter, not bigger. Here’s the mistake people make. Lifting heavy with no cardio….and EATING BAD!!!!! That’s when you look big. Because my meals have been super clean and consistent calorie intake, I’ve been able to stay lean WHILE bulking. Genius.

Yes, it’s not the easiest thing to do. Eat healthy all the time. Honestly, this program has you eating beyond healthy. You must make it a lifestyle. Weighing your food, counting your calories, making sure you are in the right %’s within your macros. (protein-fats-carbs) it’s a science people, and I get it. It’s not for everyone.

Check out this amazing article. It will OPEN your eyes to bodybuilding for women, and why you will NOT get bigger. THE FEMALE FITNESS BIBLE.

So far, this is working. It’s also helped me control my binging. Myfitnesspal has kept me feeling really accountable. I’m guessing that’s what I needed. If you want results…you’ve got to make changes in your life that must be permanent. Just like my friends who have had babies…I always tell them when they’re feeling like cows after giving birth, I say… “Hey, it took 10 months to get your body like that, it ain’t gonna take 1 month to take it off!” Ok, not like I’ve ever been preggo, but…its the same thing with women struggling with weight all their lives. It took 29 yrs for my body to look like this, it ain’t gonna take 2 wks to get it exactly to where I want it. It’s about being patient, consistency, and 75% diet & 25% fitness. Your head has GOT to be in it. Trust me, throwing in the towel, which I’ve done many times over, is much easier, but seriously chicks. Lets get it together. Enough already.

Here are some of this weeks FAVORITES!!!!

These are wildly delicious and only 123 calories for one whole stuffed bad boy!!!! Absolutely amazing!
Clearly, you could add some ground turkey or lean beef, but I’ve already done that here.

This is sooooo easy! Try them out. I’ve been really into using nutritional yeast in dishes lately, and it adds this really fantastic, kind of cheesy taste to things. I am dying over it. Soooo good.

My new GO TO DIP!!
Trader Joes is my bestie right now…
Fat free sour cream ( 15 cals for 2 tbsp) mixed with TJ’S onion mix! I topped these awesome stuffed peppers with a tbsp of this mix, and fell in love. I’ve been adding a tbsp to everything, especially on my eggies in the morning;)

And last but not least……
Probably maybe favorite meal of the day…last meal of the day….

Holy mother of god.

2 packages of SHIRATAKI Miracle Rice

2 scoops chocolate CASEIN ( I use gold standard)

2 1/2 cups SILK unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 cals per cup)

1 tbsp unflavored gelatin

2 tbsp fat free sour cream or 0% Greek yogurt

4-5 drops stevia

Remove “rice” from package, place in meash colander and rinse for a while.
In another bowl, mix 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin with the 2 1/2 cups of milk & microwave for 1 min 30 sec.
Remove and whisk in casein protein.
Once combined, add stevia & sour cream (or 0%greek yogurt) and mix thoroughly. Place covered in fridge for a few hrs. Eat as night meal.

OHHH and of course, I can’t be forgetting to share my re-feed meal for this week. Lots of sushi last night along with a couple glasses of wine and beer.
How many calories over my max of 1460 you ask?..
Well….this meal took me 600 calories over my macro limit for the day. Taking me up to 2099.
Not bad though. Generally, refeed meals will be around 400-600 over your macros.
Yuuuuummmmmyyyyyy. I enjoyed it like such a fatty.

LIVEFIT WEEK 1 RECAP! Food…recipes…workouts…supplements.

In abs, At home cooking, bodybuilding, clean food, fitness, fitness plan, LIVE FIT TRAINER, meal prepping, popular recipes, protein shakes, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule, WOD On September 14, 2013 2 Comments

Coming into the end of my 1st LIVE FIT TRAINER week, I am feeling amazing!!!! Today is actually day 5, but no workouts today, so I figured I’d give you guys the lowdown on how it’s been going. I am not used to having 3 rest days in a row, but you know what?….I ain’t complaining cuz I’ve got a hunch that, that won’t be the case coming up here reaaaaaal soon. Lol. I’m gonna sit here and enjoy those 3 damn rest days. I gotta keep remembering that…whatever I was doing before wasn’t giving me the exact results I was looking for, so I’ve vowed to do it right and strict to the plan.

Phase 1 came with loads of prepping fun! I am fortunate to really love cookin’ and spending time in the kitchen, so that was no biggie what’s so ever. I am no stranger to meal prep Mondays;)
The NUTRITION during this phase is absolute key. Because some would consider this the “bulking” phase (building muscle, & no cardio), the proportions of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates that make up your daily macros is super important. I’ve come to find through my calculations and what my goals are, that my daily macros will looks like this: 40% protein, 30% carbohydrates, & 30% fats. Some don’t count their vegetable intake in their calorie counting, but I do. It counts for me.
MY FITNESS PAL is a great way to keep track of your caloric intake. At the end of your completed day, with food logged in, it will give you a % breakdown of macros. I’m totally obsessed with it. Also, it really does make you realize how wayyyyyyyyyy too many cals you were consuming before!!

DAY 1:

Super pumped!!!!!

1/2 c. Egg whites
1 c. Spinach with garlic
3 oz lean grass fed beef

2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins

1/4 c. quinoa
1/4 of med. cooked sweet potatoe
Kale with tomatoes, cucumbers, cider vinegar, EVOO.
6 oz lean protein

3 small Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars

Same as lunch:)

Lots of water.
Didn’t eat past 7:30 pm.

In the photo below are the exercises performed.
These were performed at 60 %strength capacity.
3 sets of 12 repetitions each.
Doesn’t seem like much, but homegirl was SORE!!!

Ohhhhh and guess what!!!
My supplements came in the mail from!
Below is my daily stack…. Read on babes.

I’m kind of new to the “counting my macros” thing, so it took me a few days, as you’ll see, to get them spot on to where they needed to be.

On this particular day, I had some calories to kill ( I love saying that) so I made my fave lil post workout recovery drink by All Pro Science. I love the blueberry ice flavor. Now with this LA heat, I crave this drink more than anything.
The great thing about this product, is that it’s made with all natural ingredients, no artificial ingredients, and no fake crap or sweeteners. It’s packed full of essential amino acids, and made with grass fed protein.
Although on the higher end with carbohydrates, it is low in sugar, and fulfills all that your body needs to recover after a grueling workout.

1 packet Blueberry Ice APS RECOVERY

1/2 cup organic blueberries

Juice of 1/2 a lemon

Add all ingredients into a vitamix or blender and enjoy as a summer slushie:)

DAY 2:

Yeah!!!!!!! I passed the 1st day! Lol. So far, so good. I’ve been logging all exercises, supps, and caloric intake.
I can’t stress enough how IMPORTANT clean eating is to a program. Already, at day two, I woke up with some BOMB morning abs! Lol
ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN BITCHES!!! something we all struggle to get through out heads.

Day 2 , I woke up super sore from lifting, but it felt amazing. I’ve been really making sure that I stick to my schedules.
** Breakfast within an hour of waking up
**Cellucor pre-workout shortly after coffee and breakfast. ( 30-45 min before workout)
**Scivation Xtend (during and post workout) for recovery, amino acids
** 5-6 total meals a day with a caloric intake of 1500 calories a day.( this number is specifically calculated for MY lean mass, and body fat %, find YOUR number HERE.)
**very limited – none alcohol.
**take supplements

1/2 c egg whites
1/4 c cooked quinoa
1 cup spinach
Coffee with 1/2 c unsweetened almond milk.

3 Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars

3 oz grass fed beef
1/4 c quinoa with edamame and leeks
Small kale and tomato salad
1/4 cup sweet potato

2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins

Seared ahi salad with no dressing from Take A Bao
1 small can grapefruit Perrier

60 oz of water throughout the day.

Pretty spot on the calories today;)

DAY 3:

Pay no attention to the exercise list below in the pic…I messed up and put tues. workout. Oops. Well, you get it- LEGS & CALVES.
* leg press
* seated leg extension
* leg curls
* calf raises
All 3 sets of 12 reps.

1 serving Vanilla protein Pound cake
3 oz grass fed beef

Protein shake:
(Pic below)
Cellucor whey in “cinnamon swirl”
Unsweetened almond milk
Pure vanilla bean powder or vanilla extract
3 drops stevia
1/4 frozen banana
2 tbsp Trader Joes fat free sour cream

2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins
1/2 cup mashed cauliflower
Seasoned roasted broccoli
Small kale and tomato salad with hard boiled egg white

2 Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars

DINNER:( before 7:30)

1 cup cooked sweet potato with salt
3/4 cup egg whites ( I buy the cartons)

Although my protein, fat, carb ratio was great…I was lacking in some calories. Skipping calories in this case with this type of program is no bueno. Just as taking in too many calories is no bueno…. Neither is taking in too little.
REMEMBER: this phase is for building muscle. If you don’t get enough food, your body will feed on that lean muscle mass that you are trying to create.

DAY 4:

Got lucky with day 4′s workout! I get to do it at home!!! Yeah!!!
Today is my last day of lifting before my 3 rest days. Well, Sunday…I’m actually sneaking in a bit of cardio..oops. I have to Zumba people c’mon! I’m super excited! I’ll be teaching a Zumba class at this years Lululemon’s SOULcal celebration warehouse sale at the LA convention center.
If you’re in LA, come check it out! This sale. Is gonna be RIDICULOUS!

Anyway….on today’s food log, I switched up a few things. I can’t get bored with my food, or I lose it. So, since going a little nutzo with my order of Cellucor Whey galore, I’ve been loving playing with all the new flavors of proteins. Today’s was a delicious Molten chocolate shake. Sooooo bomb!

An egg white frittata made with:
1/2 c egg whites
1/4 c cooked quinoa
Broccoli, spinach and zucchini
With a dollop of trader joes fat free sour cream and hot sauce.

Coffee with 1/2 c frothed almond milk

Protein shake:
Cellucor Whey in Molten Chocolate
2 tbsp fat free sour cream
1 tbsp chocolate PB2
1 c unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup water

1/2 cup cooked brown rice
6 oz chicken breast
Kale salad

2 Jamie Eason pumpkin protein bars

2 Jamie Eason turkey meatloaf muffins
Hard boiled egg whites
Brocolli and zucchini with 1/2 avocado

Here’s my “STACK”
I’ve still gotta get used to swallowin’ all these damn pills, but whatever.
S far I’m liking my “stack” but as I get a better feel of what I’m trying to achieve, then, I’ll have a better idea of what is really working, and what I really don’t need.

I am not yet taking the Cellucor HD (fat burner) but will start it in phase 2.
Still figuring out if I like the C4 for my pre-workout or if I’m gonna switch to NO Extreme

Happy Sunday babes!!!!! Today is my complete prep day for starting my new program. What is it???? Curious???
Well… It’s Jamie Eason’s LIVE FIT TRAINER 12 week program, through
I’ve always been into diet and fitness, but I’ve never quite gotten the results I’ve wanted with what I’ve been doing. It’s time to get serious. This program totally breaks it down to a science that is foolproof. It all makes sense now. All I’ve got to do…is STICK TO IT;) lol. (said the cereal binger) I’m ready to build some serious muscle, stick to balanced diet, and get re-focused.
Here we gooooooo…..
Time for measurements…..I’ve never done this…this should be interesting…..

Now that that’s over, I can breath. I’m saving the before picture for the end of the 12 week reveal;) this program is something you, yo mama, yo aunti, anyone can do. All it takes, is absolute DETERMINATION. Like I said before, it’s foolproof. Through, it couldn’t be easier to manage and track your progress. Every part of the program is spelled out for you literally. You can print out your workouts, workout logs, what you need to eat everyday…I mean. Soooooo easy. Jamie takes the guessing bull shit out of the equation.
*** printable grocery list

***6 meal a day meal prep

***recipes to print out and add to your meal plan.

***once you sign up for the program, which in FREE by the way, you can automatically sync your new workout schedule to your mobile device iCal or iPhone.

***easy to keep track of progress and weight management.

***also, Jamie’s recommended “stack” (supplements).

PHASE 1: WEEKS 1-4 Build muscle/ no cardio

Here’s the deal…you click on your day….it gives you your workout for that day, and what foods to eat, then you print it out. Another way to do it….print out the workout logs for the week, and foods, and have them ready to go. Take the page with you to the gym. Boom. Done.
You will notice below…NO CARDIO!!!!! dundundunnnnnnnnn!!!!! I know!!! WTF. that’s what I thought too.
I’m totally that annoying cardio bunny. Well kids…time to make a change.

Everyday you will be able to see your workout in this form or in video.’s all about form and technique, so if you’re quite sure what the specific exercise should look like, you’ve got visuals right in front of you.
*** if you are the type to get embarrassed or intimidated in a gym weight room, #1: get the FU%* OVER IT! #2: practice your form in the mirror at home, so that your mind and body become familiar and comfortable with the movement.

Here is what I’ll be starting with tomorrow. My first workout! I can hardly wait!!
DAY 1 baby!!

You will only need to print out one page for the meals of PHASE 1:
Yep. Why? Well, cuz it’s pretty damn straight forward.. Look below.

First week: 4 days strength training.
3 rest days.

Sounds easy enough….lol.
DON’T GET USED TO THAT;) shit gets serious later on.
I’ve printed out my workout logs, and I’m ready to hit those weights like a boss!!!!

But before allllllll of this amazing-nesssss, I want you to educate yourselves in what your goals are. The only way to track your progress, is by being honest with yourselves.
I found a really GREAT post from a fave blog of mine, on how to properly calculate your body fat.
Trust me yo, this is noooo fun for anyone, I don’t care how skins you are. But listen, if you want results, it’s time to get real, and get down to the nitty-gritty.
Remember this is all a simple science.
*** Why do I need to know my WEIGHT??
To figure out what you should be eating, and how much protein you should be consuming.

It’s the key number in finding out how many of those pounds are lean muscle and which are body fat.

Here are my current, honest measurements as of today & through my calculations ( did this like 5x) I calculated this:

BODY FAT %: 23.5

I want leaner and meaner!!

To start my meal preps today, I’ve made 2 of Jamie’s most famous recipes.
These two recipes will be my morning and afternoon snacks/meals.

3 egg whites

Why the dentist Is GREAT for your health..and 2 new DELICIOUS recipes!!!!!

In At home cooking, circuit, clean food, Fact of the day, fitness, fitness plan, Never perfect, popular recipes, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule, WOD, yoga On August 26, 2013 9 Comments

Hey y’all!!! Hope everyone’s week is off to a fabulous start! Before I get into it…I must admit: 3 cheat meals last week. Omg. Ok..I’m done. Moving on:) Today is gonna be fab. Not too many plans. Seeing the dentist today…which, love him I swear…but I hate having to see him. Lol.
I spent Sunday with the folks so…sadly, I missed hitting up my usual Farmer’s Market, so I had to get my weekly dose of fresh flowers from Whole Foods. Aka: Super fucking expensive flower selection. This week, it’s white roses. Feeling like a virgin;)
Aren’t they perfect? And…they smell like heaven.

Ok, so I know it’s not #flexfriday but, I had to show off my new Reebok cross fit tank!
Of course I won’t be showing it off without the hard work that comes with that shit! Lol
Show your strength ladies! C’mon;)
Hit the gym early this A.M. to get in a sweaty cardio session in before having to get my mouth drilled.
I did 30 minutes of alternating resistance on the elliptical.

3 minutes @ resistance 5 / incline 9
2 minutes @ resistance 10 / incline 5
For 30 minutes
15 minutes on stairmaster on “fit test”

I planned to try one of these amazing 1000 calorie burning ass kickers this morning, but I ran outta time. I know.excuses…excuses.

Pretty gnarly right!? I found these on Pinterest, and had to share. I’m dying to give them a try and see which way I can stand more. Ha;)
Anyway….this week,it’s on. Who’s with me!!!???
You see. My problem is never a lack of motivation to work out, it’s more my diet. I do really well for a bit, then tend to throw it all out the window for a couple days. No bueno. All that work…and sometimes for nothing. What has improved, is my guilt and self punishment. I have gotten sooooo much better at controlling the binges, and refusing to feel guilty.

I’m babbling. Give this workout a try. If this is all you do all week, then be it. Remember…just move. You’re beating everyone on the couch;)

So, 10:00 A.M. Came damn quick. Ughhhhhhhh. Time for some really exciting dental work.
I have to get… Wait for it…. A CROWN!!!!! Ajhhhhhhhhh. Sick.
This is my amazing, genius dentist, Dr. Ourfalian.

Listen, I hate dental work as much as the next cry baby, but he just, absolutely makes the visit sooooo pleasant. He is very gentle, conservative & very honest. Everyone that I’ve recommended to him, has loved him.
I don’t think I have good teeth genes, so I’ve really got to keep with regular 6 month cleanings, as well as flossing after every meal. Do you guys really floss after every meal? I feel like a creep for only flossing once a day. Sometimes, I even forget to do that. Omg. So bad. I started to notice that my gums would bleed when I would floss sometimes…and, that my friends…is NOT THE BUSINESS!

In doing some research, I came across this. VERY interesting. Sometimes, we forget how much bacteria can enter through our mouths. Read this bit, and you will be surprised.
Heart disease…
Holy shizzzzzzzz.
I fu*%ing hate flossing, not gonna lie, but…THERE’S HOPE! My friend told me about these and I immediately stopped at Walgreens after my appt to buy em’

The rest of the day was free. (Yeayyyyyyyy) I got home & of course, I was starving. One problem….if I tried to eat anything that required chewing, I would chew off my tongue. So, I had extra cooked oatmeal with flax milk, chia seeds, raisins, mashed figs, and protein powder.
Oh, and a

Since I didn’t get to my 1000 cal burning workout (above), I thought maybe I would make it to a late night yoga class.
Yep….it’s now 7:30 p.m…..haven’t been able to get off the couch from so much mouth pain.
No more anesthesia. Haha.
Hey, getting a crown is not exactly pain free kids. Wow.
Instead….I cooked the rest of the day. Making dinner and meal prepping tomorrow’s packed lunch.
I hadn’t gone grocery shopping, but I pulled out a few fridge staples, And made something sooooo yummy for dinner.

By far….one of the easiest dins-for-1 I’ve ever made. For a meal…Super low cal, andddddd soooo filling!

I will be rooming with a few girls , authors of some awesome blogs!
Steph at
Meg at
Lindsey at
Cant wait to share this coming weekend’s activities!

For now, let me introduce you to my Monday;)
Maybe one of my favorite days of the week… I started off having a wonderful mbreakfast outdoors at Aroma tea and coffee, located in quaint Tujunga village, Studio City. To my honestly, there is nothing better than having a really great meal while sitting outside. I take people watching verrrrrrry seriously.

The menu is VAST, I opted for the lighter fare. I wanted everything that damn place had to offer, an AMAZING clean menu. I went for a powerhouse breakfast that consisted of…tender charbroiled chicken breast, fluffy egg whites, with a side of 9 grain toast, and freaks fruit. It was heaven on a platttttttta!

Enjoyed an iced coffee with unsweetened almond milk, and a bit of stevia. Most restaurants only have Splenda as an alternative, but yes, I DO carry around a lil dropper bottle of stevia with me…in my purse…everywhere that I go. Don’t judge. I ate that breakfast like it was my J.O.B. I put in werrrrk. Yum-MY!
Oh, and please do excuse my tired eyes, apparently didn’t realized I was gonna be in the “food” shot. Lol.

Meet Diego…. The bulldog of all bulldogs. Such a cutie;) he’s ready for Monday Funday! For now, he’s just tied up to my chair, sniffin around, lookin’ allllll cute n’ shit. Lol;)

And so we we drove…..
Ended up at Malibu State Park for a late morning hike. It was a stunning view, although, I didn’t expect it to be that dry out. I still think we went the wrong way. Someone told me I should have seen a creek and swim hole…yeah, never once saw a drop of water, and Diego’s paws were getting RAW from the heat. Last thing on earth you want happening…. A bulldog overheating. Probably a bad idea seeing that it was 105 degrees out.

Poor baby was seeking shelter under trees for signs of shade. After 15 min we turned around, and said ” I think it’s time for the beach.”
Here comes the babe….

Headed north on the PCH, looking for a signs of “dog beach”, which technically…there are none. S annoying. We ended up at Leo Carrillo. Apparently, the further north you travel up the coast, the more lenient on dogs being allowed onto the sand. Who knew….
I wish willy could’ve been there, but he stayed at my parents house, cuz I knew I was leaving outta town, and wouldn’t have been able to drop him off any other day. ( they don’t live around the corner, you see..) SADFACE. He would have loved it. I OWE him:)
It was a bit windy, but sunny and perfect. The waves, super cute in size. Actually we were able to catch some kids RIPPING! love watching surfers.

The running around didn’t stop there, oh yes, the fun continued;) met up with some friends at The Parlor in Hollywood for some sports watchin’ and margarita drinkin’;) skinny of course;)
Me and my Amiga.. Dianne, head colorist at Sassoon. So glad she’s back in LA!
Early bday celebrations! Her Birthday is in 2 days! Yeayyyyyyy.

Lunch was the BOMB! you wouldn’t think that a sports bar would have such quality food, but guess what…. My god. This salad was OUTRAGEOUS. Steak, greens, grilled veggies, pine nuts, and goat cheese. Um..byeeeee.
Therest of Monday night was suer mellow. The sun tends to really wear me out. I went home early to catch up on some work, and practically passed out on the couch. Exhausted:)

So here we are…it’s Tuesday night, and I’ve got some fantastic news!
I took Sandy’s super packed ZUMBA class tonight, and to all of our surprise……

Studio City Lululemon suprised her at the end of class with ” WILL YOU BE OUR AMBASSADOR!???? WTF!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhh. We were all freaked out, amazed, happy, emotional, all of it.
She is an absolute mentor, and inspires me everyday, as well as soooo many others. What an honor! We love you Sandy! W were all sweaty, and disgusting…crying all over the place, lol. Such chicks! Get ready for SCFITNESS to come with it!

Tonight’s class was on FIRE! 35 of us dancing our booties off, and I swear to you, I’ve NEVER sweat that much in my life. Literally, my soaked ponytail was whipping sweat onto everyone behind me. Ugh, I’m sorry girls. Good thing, was we were all that way. Lol.

Sweaty SELFIE time!

My legs are now jello, I need a serious shower, and I gotta get some inspiration for a new song and dance for my A.M. Class tomorrow…..

I’m thinking a lil’ Daddy Yankee “Limbo”… What do y’all think? Such a fun song! Time to get some rest friends!

What are your WORKOUT GOALS for next week?

(psssst….Write them down…I swear it helps;)

Homemade Protein Bars…a 50 day no cheat challenge, and some fitspiration;)

In Breakfast, clean food, fitness plan, Fridays, Never perfect, new faves, popular recipes, protein, skinny grocery list, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule On April 20, 2013 4 Comments

Tired of all those protein bars out there, full of sugar, additives, and ingredients you can’t pronounce?? I AM!!!

The only protein bars that I’ve found so far that I absolutely LAAAAV are QUEST BARS, but honestly, they can get quite expensive sooooooooo….this is the best alternative I’ve found, plus I’m obsessed with pumpkin. All year round.
I’ve made sure to attach a printout option as well as the nutritional facts.

Only 77 calories each, you will NOT feel a bit of guilt. I originally found this recipe on monimeals.combut altered it a bit to satisfy my diet needs.
Hope you guys enjoy;)

Healthy Protein Pumpkin Bars
I cut these in rectangles and wrap each one in foil. They are a perfect on the go protein snack.
  • 4 egg whites
  • ¾ cup organic (canned) pumpkin
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sugar free honey (Natures Hollow)
  • ¼ cup oat flour (I just ground up my oats in a coffee grinder, but could also use a food processor or bullet)
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder. I use About Time Whey
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or less if you feel so)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Optional: crushed walnuts or pecans sprinkled over the top before placing in oven.

  1. Preheat ove to 350 F.
  2. In one bowl, mix the egg whites, pumpkin, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  3. In another small bowl whisk the oat flour, protein powder, and all the spices along with the baking powder.
  4. Add this to the wet ingredients and make sure to mix very well.
  5. Pour mixture into a baking loaf pan or a square pan coated with cooking spray.
  6. Add the nuts if you want over the top.
  7. Bake about 18-20 min or until a tooth comes out clean. Enjoy!

My diet has been yo-yo-ing for a bit now, and realize that is the reason why my body isn’t changing much. Those of you who know me, know I’m quite extreme when it comes to it. I’m trying not to be so obsessive and stress so much about it, so in light of my obsessive/binger nature, I’ve decided to go 50 DAYS STRONG without cheating or binging to try and alter how I view food.
It’s funny, I was gonna do 100 days, but then realized that my best friends wedding was during that time and thought…hmmm, ” ain’t nobody got time for dat” and frankly, 100 days would be really Elgin hard for me, so lets start here…
50 days. I am again, breaking up with food. Kinda feels like I’m going sober.
Ok, so who’s with me….
Repost this to your insta friends and lets see how many people will do it with us, yeah?

If you read my FF2F Guide to Weight Loss then you know that it’s all about diet! This is truly how you change your body. I’ve tried everything. I workout like a maniac, and the only way I actually reap the benefits of all that hard work, is if I really cut portions and stop binging and stressing. It all adds up y’all.
This is part of the process.. Check it out. Follow these tips.

Print or pin this skinny girls grocery list, and stick to it. For those of you that are like me….just because its on this list and healthy doesn’t mean you get to gorge on it. NO, you can’t have the whole bag of almonds, and NO, you cannot eat a whole roasted chicken in one serving! Lol

Here’s so far the plan this week for workouts…. So far I’ve kept to it…well, except today…I didn’t get a chance to run;( womp wooooooomp, but I promise to make up for it. No really, I swear;)
I find that if I write down the workout plan for the week, I’m most likely going to stick to it.
Does it help you at all? Lately, I’ve been trying to lift more. I’ve been good on my cardio, but I feel like my muscles are getting smaller. Ugh.

These inspirations I found while going “pin” crazy. Sending you all some motivation before starting your week next week!

For “ON THE GO” gals:

Oooohhhh girrrrl, have I got the best new make up!!!!! New obsession. CHANTECAILLE gel foundation. The texture is flawless, and will last you forever. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality. My color is “cream.”

I have an announcement y’all!!!
Since we’ve last spoke….

I am now officially ZUMBA CERTIFIED!!!
After nine hours of dancing my lil heart out in San Diego….. I got my certification! Woooooohooooooo;)

9 hrs in the same freakin room. Thank god I brought lunch and snacks. The whole experience was super fun! Yes it was long, but actually enjoyable. Mostly dance, and some PowerPoint.

I’m sure most of you are familiar with ZUMBA, and the bright colors all the ZUMBA folk wear, right?
Well, I never thought I would be “that” instructor… ( I’m usually in black or grey) but, I gotta tell ya, I lost my ZUMBA shit in there! Lol. I came home with purple and teal pants, fluorescent sports bras, bright orange headband, weird “party time”bracelets… I got home and literally started laughing out loud at myself. I’m kindaaaaa feelin’ it though. ;)

Ok, so some of you may have already seen this pic if you follow me on instagram, but I just had to share…. I am sooooo damn sick of turkey it’s ridiculous. The other day I roasted a 12 lb turkey at 5:00 am. ( no bigs, just what I do) as part of my week meal prep. Well, after 30 minutes of carving the freakin’ thing, I thought to myself.. ” hmmmm, maybe 12 lbs was a bit big” NOOOOOOOO, really???? I have been eating turkey for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for like 4 days, and I wanna scream. It’s really delicious….but seriously c’mon.

Surprise, surprise…. Turkey for breakfast.
Along with my new fave Ezekiel bread topped with raw nut butter and Natures Hollow raspberry sugar free syrup. ( sounds weird, but yumsville)

Ooh, and I just taught my first class!!! But before heading out, I made a protein shake for after class, obviously knowing I would be starved afterwards. ( Usually what happens to me after working out intense for an hour…bottomless pit syndrome)

1 packet About Time strawberry whey protein
1 handful Swiss chard
1 tbsp fromage blanc
1/2 tsp pure vanilla powder
Organic blueberries
Organic raspberries
Silk 30 cal unsweetened almond milk
Filtered water
Udo’s choice probiotic pill.

My class was AMAZING! Love my students and my supporters. Tonight’s class came with a surprise… SPARTOS for everyone! Yessss! So stoked my class got to enjoy some of that amazing protein water that I love so much.

My fellow instructors who have helped me soooo much during this training process! Love u Amigas. They came and took my first class. Ahhhh, love them so much, their energy made me go even more FULL OUT!

#1 it’s called Flex Friday…. #2: we just like to pose in front of the mirror, while we’re sweating like criminals on the run.

My RA-RA Team…. Hype girls. Lol

Thank you SPARTOS, and thank you amazing ladies for all your positive energy! I wore my Polar ft60, and we burned over 750 calories in 1 single hour! That’s what I call a WORKOUT! All the while, having loads of fun!

Seriously, a really great week! Stoked to share with you guys. I’m a happy girl;)
Especially after receiving these;) aweeeeee

Celebrating with friends! A bit of a cheat, but don’t judge;) you know I love me some Mexican food. Oh, and duh, a bomb ass margarita!

Happy, happy, happy!! I wish you all could come take my ZUMBA class!!!

Lovin you all….

Change is healthy…1 less day @ the salon…Zumba training, & more time to blog;)

In At home cooking, Breakfast, clean food, Never perfect, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule, zumba On March 14, 2013 2 Comments

Loves!!!! So sorry I’ve been MIA:( I’ve been sooooooo busy, and there are lots of changes happening. I’m super excited, but I gotta tell ya, a few panic attacks during the last couple days. Been playing catch up since coming back from Vegas along with many other things.

Ok, where do I begin….as you know, I’m gearing up for my ZUMBA instructor license, and I’ll be teaching my first classes starting April 1st. Ahhhhhhhhhh, I’m freaking a bit. Ive gotta learn 15 songs by that day. On top of that, I’ve been totally busy at work, hence, the late blogging. So yes, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but I’ve got great news! I’m a pretty lucky girl, I must say, cuz my boss has agreed to let me work only 4 days instead of 5 days a week. I know, pretty amazing. Starting April 1st, I will be having Wednesdays off, which will allow me the time to catch up, teach a Zumba class, and get my blogging done.
I can’t tell you how wonderful it feels to gain that balance.

Though I’ve been neglecting the computer the last few days, my workouts have been on fire! Im planning on learning 2 new songs (choreography) for next weeks ZUMBA classes. Getting my feet wet I guess you could say;) this weekend it’s on…I’ll be practicing in front of the mirror for like 10 hrs. Lol.

Although a slow start to the week, Wednesday I kicked ass with a fasted cardio session in the a.m.

On the elliptical for intervals by 5:30a.m
50 minutes
Just water, no food.

I highly doubt that I’m the only one that listens to hardcore rap when they work out….
This shit gets me going. Sometimes I sing along, and forget others can hear me… Whoops.

Burned 524 cals before ever even realizing I was awake. :)

Of course after a workout, I’m starved. I felt like something fresh, green, and hearty, so I made up some random stuffed egg wrap that was delicious! I had loads of kale I needed to use up, and seeing as St. Patty’s day is around the corner, I figured green is what’s up.

For the ” Green Protein Egg Wrap”

A handful of clean kale

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk

1 scoop whey protein

2-3 drops stevia

1/4 cup egg whites

Blended all ingredients in the vitamix, greased a square flat pan, and poured mixture. On med heat, allow to cook like a thin crepe. Or like you would cook an omelette without the folding, just flip.

For the filling

1-2 tbsp fromage blanc or nonfat sour cream or Greek yogurt

1 tbsp hot & sweet mustard ( I like Trader Joes brand)

1/4 thinly sliced apple

Low sodium turkey slices

A handful of mixed greens

Thinly sliced tomatoes ( didn’t originally add this, but regretted not doing so…so u should add)

Thinly, layer ingredients, and roll up carefully. Serve with a bit of siracha or even a tbsp of hummus.

This is a great alternative to eating a sandwich on two pieces of bread. This is completely LOW CARB.

My lunches have been totally predictable. Same shit, different day. ;) I don’t mind though. I’m obsessed with salmon right now. I bake a few fillets, and take them to luch everyday with a side salad. Healthy, filling, and full of essential fatty acids.

After work, I headed straight to a doubled up workout. 1 hour ZUMBA + 1 hr body sculpting. I told you I killed it today;)

By 9:00 p.m, I was dunzoooooooo. I gotta take as many classes as possible to get ready for my teaching debut;)

Favorite part: the cool down. just as important as the workout itself.

Burned another 830 cals tonight. Not bad!!!

A bit of a random post, I know…but that’s how my mind works;) a few of my new favorite things…..
These fresh picked flowers from the front of my building.

New amazing smelling candle that is now burning in my bathroom.

Another vintage Indian crafted glass n gold jewelry box find…

My week in workouts….

Here is a great quote I found while pinning…. It got me through my overwhelming week.

On to practicing my ZUMBA moves this weekend! Xoxo
Glad to be back;)

Oh heeeeyyyyoooo! My loves! I’ve missed you! Hope you all enjoyed the last post. Aren’t you NOW, just as obsessed with Target as I am!? Anyway, get ready, cuz it’s that time again! The beginning of the week is full of healthy eats and recipes, workout ideas, my weekly exercise goal and my favorite part….. GET THE LOOK!

I just HAVE to share what I did the other day, that I totally forgot to blog about!
I got LAZZZZZZZERRRRED! zappity zappppp! If you are still waxing, GET A CLUE!
Ain’t noboooooody got time fo dat!

I am a total lover and fanatic for laser hair removal. It’s freakin genius. I’ve done it a few times before, but it was my first time at this particular location. My friend had gone here before, and highly recommended it. She said that they also had a particular laser machine that was geared more towards olive skin tones, so I was stoked. My skin can sometimes act a bit sensitive.
The place is called PROLASE in Glendale.

We waited practically no time, which is alllllways appreciated. Happy to say that I am practically completely hairless;) like a baby’s bum! Today for me, was a touch up, but I dragged my friend along to try It for the first time. Bless her, she was so damn nervous! I was trying to explain what it felt like, ” it’s kinda like, as if someone is snapping a rubber band on your skin really fast…with cold shots of air” ummmmmmm. Weird description, but I couldn’t really pinpoint what it felt like, all I knew, was that, it was wellll worth it!

You can shave the night before, to me, virtually painless, and you only have to go every 6 wks. By the 7-8 time, hair free! The bomb! This place is fantastic, great service, great machines, and very good prices. They also specialize in other skin treatments:)

Just thought I’d share, in case any of you are considering getting it done:)

Tuesday is the beginning of my week, and I like to start it off with a BANG!

A “FASTED” cardio workout, and strength training upper body.
Showing off my new Target hat:) $9.99 biatchessssss! Sooo cute right!?
Now that I have bangs, I find that hats are the easiest to get them outta my face while I’m working out. I can’t stand pinning my hair back like snookie. No thanks.

And no Biggs….just repping my colts:) I’m a huge Peyton Manning fan, so of course I now have two teams:) Colts & the Broncos!!!

Please stop feeling intimidated to get in that weight room!!! Don’t let those boys intimidate you. I get it, it’s a new environment to you…but, that’s why you become knowledgeable in what you are doing, and which muscles you are are trying to work, because, let’s be honest, nobody wants to hurt themselves lifting weights, and no one wants to see anyone getting hurt lifting. Knowledge is power, so go in there confident, with an agenda….and that’s to build strength with great form and technique. If you have any questions, you guys, ASK THE TRAINERS! That’s what they’re there for!

My workout consisted of:

30 minute cardio:
Elliptical intervals, alternating in resistance and incline to raise my heart rate.
0-2 minutes at resistance 5 > incline 10
2-5 minutes at resistance 9 > incline 5
Keep repeating that circuit for 30 minutes.

30 minutes of resistance and weight training.
Leg raises
Weighted cable crunch
Stability ball AB work
Mountain climbers
Dead lifts
Back rows

So, as youve probably noticed, currently, my favorite post workout meal has been “Good Girl Pancakes”. I just can’t get enough of them! They are so incredibly healthy and fast, that I’ve become a master. These particular ones were made in like 4 minutes!! No joke, no lie!
All you need is the following:

1 tbsp coconut flour

1 tbsp vanilla protein powder

1 tsp gelatin

Either 1 egg and 1 egg white or use 2-3 egg whites.

Mix really well, grease a pan, form ur pancake, and in a couple min, flip. They cook super fast.

I absolutely loovvveeee nut butters, so I topped these with almond butter, hemp seeds and sugar free honey, but you are welcome ( obviously) to top with berries, coconut oil, nuts, whateves;)
These fill me up till about 10:30 when it’s time to feed my body more proteins! I need 5-6 small meals a day with the workouts I’m doing.

I have such a ritual now, I’m loving it.
Until shower and get ready time:)
People ask me all the time if wearing these “special socks” really makes a difference… And I say YESSSSSSS!
These fantastic little things help reduce recovery time, reduce chance of injury, and reduce any swelling or inflammation. They are spectacular. I actually sometimes wear them while I workout. I feel more stable with them on, kinda like a security blanket;)
If you check out Pro Compressions website, they are always having promos, sometimes for 40% off. Sooo amazing!

Like I said earlier….I need protein!
One of my faves!

1 packet About time strawberry protein

2 tbsp low fat cottage cheese or 0% Greek yogurt.

4 drops stevia

1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/2 cup water

4-5 ice cubes

1 tbsp unsweetened unrefined shredded coconut.

2 strawberries ( 1 for shake, 1 for garnish)

I just throw everything in my vitamix, but, if you ain’t got one, that’s totally fine, use any blender you’ve got ;) btw….. I can’t even begin to tell how worth it, that Vitamix was…changed my life!

Another snack that I’m packing all week is low fat cottage cheese with blueberries.
This particular C.C is by Lucerne. It’s great because its low sodium!

I will pack usually 1/2 a cup along with 1/2 cup berries.

My mornings are busy, so every night, before bed, I make sure to pack my lunch and snacks.
This weekend was so busy, that I didn’t get a chance to do my cooking for the week, so on this day, I opted for a big super salad.

Swiss chard

Spinach/kale mix

2 pieces turkey bacon

1 heart of palm

A handful of chopped cilantro.

Dressed with olive oil and vinegar

My afternoon snacks not pictured:

A tbsp peanut butter

A handful of almonds

A handful of raw green beans with hummus

My dinner plan, was to get my ass home to cookin!

First things first….pour a glass of this gorgeous italian red.

On the menu this evening folks:

Alright, lets start with the RAW ZUCCHINI HUMMUS:

You could use, either a vitamix, or a food processor.
This recipe is sooo good, and the best part, is that it’s RAW, and virtually no carbs! No chickpeas in this recipe.
You can find raw tahini at whole foods or online. Tahini is made of sesame seeds. All it is is sesame paste really. It’s delicious in, not only hummus, but also for making salad dressings:) a great staple to have in your fridge.

3 medium zucchini’s

1/4 c olive oil

1/4 – 1/2 cup lemon juice ( I like mine with 1/2 a cup, u know I love lemon;)

1/2 cup raw organic tahini

1.5 t salt

2 t cumin

3 cloves of garlic

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp Paprika and some to garnish

Peel the zucchinis, and cube them, add all the rest of the ingredients and blend in bitamix or food processor.

Top or garnish with a little olive oil , paprika and pine nuts or seasoned pumpkin seeds, and Enjoy!

This makes a batch that will force you to share. Orrrr, not;) it’s that good.
Eat with flax crackers, dip your veggies, and add to your salads.
(adapted from Sacred Source Nutrition)

A bag of broccoli florets from Trader Joes.

1/2 a lemon

Garlic Salt and pepper

Dash of paprika

Olive oil spray or 1/2 tsp.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line roasting pan with foil, add broccoli, toss with remaining ingredients, and roast for 15-20. When the tips start to brown. I don’t like to cook the death out of veggies, sooooo don’t do it either;) no need to deplete all of the nutrition…

Time to pile on MORE VEGETABLES!

My favorite healthy add in for any meal, are roasted vegetables. I literally throw everything I have in the fridge in a roasting pan, I’m so into it.
Today, we’ve got.

Brussel sprouts

Red peppers

I pretty much just 1/2 everything, throw them onto a roasting pan, toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other seasoning you like, lay out evenly, and roast at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, and you’ve got a great side or topping to any dish.
What’s great about roasting, is that the vegetables soften so much, that they almost caramelize themselves , and become a bit sweet. Ahhhh, so bomb!

Like I said, veggies go with everything. I actually don’t even count my veggies as part of my caloric intake.check out DINNER!

Because I get bored easily of chicken and fish, sometimes I need a bit of red meat to break it up. For those of you who think red meat is bad for you, think again. Check it out…
especially if you are anemic and/or an athlete.

“Meat provides nutrients runners need like iron to help maintain energy levels. It also supplies protein and amino acids that repair small muscle tears that occur during training,” according to a sports dietitian quoted by the magazine. A lean cut of beef such as sirloin or tenderloin can be a great source of zinc and iron. And B vitamins, which “help convert carbohydrates into the fuel needed to make it through a training run, are particularly plentiful in beef,” according to the article’s author, Jessica Girdwain.

96% lean organic ground beef

1/4 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp cumin

1 tsp salt

1 tsp chipotle seasoning

1/4 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper ( I’m into spicy right now… It aids in fat burning, so get into it)

2 chopped shallots

2 finely chopped garlic cloves

1/4 cup water

In a bowl, combine ground beef with all your seasonings, other than water, shallots, garlic. Get in there with your hands to ensure it’s mixed well.
In a large skillet, sautée the shallots and garlic on medium heat. Just to soften
Add meat mixture. Sautée and break up chunks with a spatula. Add water, and cook for another 10 minutes on med/ high heat.

Now I was complete;)

Complete nutrition. Protein, fiber, fat, and complex carbs. This is called EATING FOR FUEL.
Listen, it’s hard to stay on top of eating clean sometimes, but we can prevent binge eating and bad decisions by preparing ourselves. I always encourage pre-planned meals that include all of the nutrition your body needs, so that later on in the day, the body doesn’t say ” WTF I NEED CARBS! Remember, vegetables are a great source of carbohydrates, with occasional quinoa, lentils, and oats. If you feed your body the right things, and OFTEN, you won’t feel deprived. Also, not to mention, the right foods burn fat too, so, it’s a win-win.

My basic packed lunch:

Sharing my week in workouts with you guys! I can’t stress enough, how important and efficient it has been for me to actually write down my workout goals! It’s changed the way I train, I swear. The fact that I’ve typed it out, and shared with y’all, makes me feel completely accountable!
You know what I just thought of!!?
Since I get inspired by all of you reading my weekly workouts….. What if you sent me YOUR weekly workout schedule!? Ahhhhhhh… That would be amazing! You create them at the beginning of the week, send them to me, I POST THEM, and we can both inspire each other to stay on track! OOOOMMMGGGGG
Why haven’t we done this yet!? Ok, seriously. It doesn’t have to be gnarly, just attainable.

Ok, and I also have a confession…. Thursday: I forgot, it’s V-day… I’m gonna go ahead and cheat, and call it an off day….I’m freakin sore anyway. I’ll switch it for Saturday. Yeah, that works:) I don’t mind the gym being my Saturday night date!

How bout a bit of cardio inspiration?! I know, I know… I f*%#ing HATE cardio, but guess what….. Get over it. You know once you start, you get allllllllll crazy lady on that machine!
I found something similar to this on Pinterest I think, so it inspired me to create my own little treadmill circuit.
I get freakin bored sometimes, so it’s fun to challenge yourself. This one is great because it targets all of your body! We’ve got major inclines, sprints, walking uphill backwards, sideways, you name it. This isshhhhhhh is the bomb!
Next time you’ve got 30 minutes, try this CIRCUIT.

Last but not least, I know your all waiting for it;) GET THE LOOK:

Ready? Get this look for less than$65 bucks!

Shoes: my Target find, $29.99
Seriously, you need these! They don’t look like a $30 pair of shoes, they look like $ 100 pair of shoes. They’re incredibly comfortable, I actually worked all day standing up in them, and I was fine. The upper straps are brown and black leather, not that cheap looking fake stuff, and the wedge is a brown cloth material. Pretty damn cute, right!?

TOP: TJ MAXX $12.99 going along with my 70s looks as of lately :)

PANTS:TJ MAXX $16.99 almost like a thick, stretchy pant material. Loving these! The best part, is that they sit a bit higher on the waist, I’m not into low rise anymore. So played out.

It’s all about colors POPPING right now. Fun floral patterns are my jam. Check out the gold/turquoise Michael Kors watch… Take a wild guess where I found this gem???

A whopping $69.99, compared to $250

As I finally wrap up this post…. Today is VALENTINES DAY, so I wanted you wish you all a blessed and loved day!
What are your plans for tonight!? Hot date?

Well, you know what day it is!! It’s WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY.
I hope you guys found yesterday’s get fit post helpful and informative to start your new healthy lifestyle!

Last night’s ZUMBA class was on fire! I burned 600 calories, and of course when I got out, all I could think about, was how I had nothing left in fridge for my weekly meal plan! You know how they say, never go grocery shopping hungry…. Well, I raided Trader Joes like an animal. I didn’t really eat dinner before class, so my tummy was rummmmmbling. I even broke open a pack of walnuts as I was shopping around, cuz I just couldn’t take it anymore! Lol

I recently decided to incorporate Casein Protein into my diet, and have been playing around with different ways to enjoy it. Actually, a lot of the ideas I’ve found, have been on Instagram. It’s amazing what kind of inspiration you can find on that thing!

Casein provides a sustained slow release of amino acids into the blood stream, sometimes lasting for several hours. (While you sleep 7-8 hrs) This provides better nitrogen retention and use by the body.Because of its slow digesting properties, casein is widely used between meals and before bed to help bodybuilders maintain muscle in an anabolic state

So this was my dinner/dessert;)

1 scoop Banana smoothie Casein

1 tbsp unflavored gelatin ( to add thickness)

1/2-1 cup hot almond milk (depending n how thick you want it )

1 tbsp pb2

Blend together, and stick it in the fridge. In an hour or two, check it. It should be thick.
This is soooo delicious, and was exactly what my body needed after my workout, before bed.

Here’s the stocked up fridge after $100. Trader joes is my Jam! I got soooooo much clean food for just $100, that’s what’s up! The best part is, it will last me all week.

Tulips mean SPRING is coming! Picked these up at Trader Joe’s for $4.99!
I absolutely love fresh flowers in my house, like, at all times.

Ok, enough with last night ;)

This morning’s breakfast was, again, inspired by Instagram. A microwave chocolate banana protein cake. Susanna Backman ( a trainer/nutritional coach) @tastyhealth has got amazing low carb, high protein ideas for every meal. You gotta follow her, and tell her From Fries To Fit is gushing about her ;)

This was a dream. I mean… Cake for dinner!? Yes, I think so y’all.
Listen carefully though, this cake is super easy, but also easy to OVERCOOK.

In chocolate bowl:

1/2 a scoop chocolate About Time Whey
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp coconut flour
1/8-1/4 cup water
1 tbsp 0% Greek yogurt
Optional: add a couple drops of stevia if you like it a bit sweeter

In banana bowl:

1/2 scoop banana About Time Whey
1/4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp coconut flour
1/8-1/4 cup water
1tbsp 0% greek yogurt

1 tbsp raw almond butter
Drizzle Natures Hollow sugar free honey
Cacao nibs

Add dry ingredients first to both bowls, mix each well, then, add wet ingredients to each bowl. Once combined, add chocolate mix into banana mix, and use a knife to give a swirl effect.
Pop in the microwave for 30 seconds. Check it at this point, as this lil puppy over cooks super fast. Add 20-30 more seconds. It should be rising at this point. Remove, plate, and top with almond butter, honey and cacao nibs.

I didn’t have to work till ten today, so I managed to get some meal prepping done for the week.
Honestly, I don’t wanna hear that you ” just, don’t have the time” cuzzzzzzz you do. I managed to prep 4 full meals in 20 mins! It can be done people.

Lean turkey patties with only 8 grams of fat, 0 carbs, and 18 grams of protein

Cooked in a 1 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil.

Seasoned with garlic powder, 21 salute seasoning, salt & pepper.

As those were on the skillet, I pre heated the oven to 350 degrees, tossed a bag of broccoli with a pinch of olive oil, lots of lemon, and seasonings, and threw it in there to cook for 18 minutes.

While in the oven, I took advantage of the open burners, and hard boiled eggs in one, and sautéed collard greens with leeks, onions, garlic in the other.

All under 20 minutes. I love clean eating… Seriously, it’s easy to eat healthy:)

I put one patty, a side of broccoli, and sautéed greens topped with fat free feta in each Tupperware.
2 hard boiled eggs
1/2 cup blueberries
A 100 calorie pack of almonds.
A handful of cut up cucumbers with lemon and seasoning.

Oh, and, I almost forgot…I don’t eat lunch without my live salsa. Pretty much fermented veggies. Sounds gross, but it’s the bomb! Full of enzymes and probiotics.

Tonight’s DINNER:

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhweeeeee! Holy protein dinner of champions. Essentially, a sweet egg crepe. I know, so happy right now. I posted this on my Instagram, and it was a hit! I had it for breakfast the other day, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the next time this heavenly treat would once again meet my lips! Sooooo, tonight it is ;) This girl’s gone WILD over here. What’s up with me lately, I swear, it’s allllll about sweet dinners. Oh well, as long as its healthy right?

Ok, this is so simple, and delicious.

The wrap:

1 egg

5 egg whites

A pinch of Cinnamon

3 drops stevia

The filling:

1 tbsp low fat cottage cheese

1 tbsp Raw almond butter

1/2 a cut up banana

Roll it up……

Top with chopped almonds and sprinkled with unsweetened coconut flakes.

Go ahead….eat the whole thing.. That’s right, and enjoy every second of it, cuz it’s nothin’ but good for ya! I broke up the amount of nut butter with some cottage cheese in order to reduce the fat content, and add a bit of a softer texture.
What do u think? I think you should eat this tomorrow morning…. It’s really amazing how this is actually in your diet plan. Tastes so naughty!

Vanilla Casein “Panna Cotta”

Same recipe as last nights dessert, except this time with vanilla flavored casein. I couldn’t wait for it to thicken up in the fridge, so I put it In the freezer for 10 minutes, or until panna cotta consistency. This is by far, my favorite meal of the day… My ” before bed” treat. My muscles will be happy;)

On a fitness note:

I managed to pull out a quick core exercise with my Lebert equalizer.

Really, it’s more of a full body workout because you are using more than just your core to hold yourself up the whole time.

** trust me….you will hate me after this. If you don’t own these bars, it’s fine, duh. You can use 2 chairs! ;)

So far, I’m on track with my weekly workout schedule. I’m wearing my polar watch to keep track of my calories burned, and I’m planning my meals ahead of time. How are things going with you guys? Tonight’s agenda: BODYSCULPTING. 1 hour of circuit training, with bands, weights, lunging, crunching, squatting, you name it. I burned 350 right there. Stoked!

After class, me and J. FIT practiced planking on each other. Lol. Check her Facebook page out. It’s fantastic, and full of great info!

20130206-222347.jpg is FULL of newness! Lol

I got a new look y’all! What do you think? I got a fringe! Well…”bangs” as we say here in America;)
I was just really getting tired of me look, and working at a salon, you have the advantage to just act on impulse, and say ” eff it, just cut it!”
You see, I wanted a change without cutting off all my hair, so this was a perfect compromise;)
I’ve decided that 70′s fringe is back!

As you know, I just celebrated my 29th birthday. Thank u, thank u…
And in today’s look, I’m sporting prezzies from my besties!

SHORTS: elastic band faux leather hotpants by ZARA (thanks Jules)

TOP: H&M $14.99

SHOES: wedges by Mossimo for target. ( thanks Amy)

Damn….that was a long day…. Me and my fringe are done now;) let me know if you try any of the recipes! I wanna know how it works for you! Xo

GET FIT NOW! Your FF>2F guide to weight loss

In circuit, fitness plan, life, Never perfect, protein, skinny grocery list, Uncategorized, weekly workout schedule On February 4, 2013 3 Comments

Hey everyone! Hope you guys had a super fun weekend! We are back to eating right and working out right!???ok, so on this subject…. I’ve been getting a lot of feedback from you guys in regards to making the transition to a low carb/FIT lifestyle. I love hearing rom you guys because, remember….you inspire me too! So, this post is dedicated to you, in order to help make your transition smooth and worth it. I promise the hardest part, is getting started. Once you start seeing results, you’ll be hooked.

Now… I have to say to you that, everything I share with you, are facts that have worked for me, and anyone who has tried this regimen. I am not a nutritionist and I am not a certified personal trainer but, c’mon guys… It ain’t rocket science. The thing is…we all know how to really gain results.

Number 1: You burn off more than you’re taking in.

Number 2:We supplement our bodies with whole food and non processed foods.

Number 3: we follow the 80/20 rule. ( 80 % clean 20% treats)

Number 4: we get our heart rates up for at least 1 hour. 5x a wk. ( that’s right, if you can carry a conversation, you’re not working hard enough)

Lets start your new FIT life with some motivation. Listen, I’m not gonna be there every morning in your ear, telling you to WAKE THE F*%k UP! you must be the one to make your fitness and health a priority. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it is your body, you need to become your own motivator, your own trainer. Think like one, and you will see results. ABSOLUTELY.
Remove the negativity, the ” I cants, or the I’m just sooo tired” and surround yourself with positive thoughts.

Alright, lets kick off with PHASE ONE:
Start with a clear mind, and a plan of attack. Changing bad habits is NOT easy. Trust me, I know. It’s not easy for me sometimes either, but, I find that when I have something to follow, like a program, it helps me feel a sense of accountability, and with that, comes desire, and drive to be better, and get stronger.

Have you ever heard the phrases ” Abs are made in the kitchen”? Or ” Its 75% diet”?
Well folks…this is not a lie or a joke or something someone just made up for shits and giggles.
It’s that simple. If you eat like shit, yes you will feel like shit.

A much as you are preparing your body for this change, you will need to prepare your kitchen for the change too! Time to CLEAR OUT!

If you are someone who’s been eating quite bad for a longer time now and are interested in first doing a healthy cleanse before starting the program…then you might want to check out this post.

Otherwise…I’ve prepared a grocery list for you that will keep you on track of your goals. It’s foolproof. Buy outside of this list, and that’s when we’ll have problems. Lets be honest, If it was working your way, you wouldn’t be struggling and you probably wouldn’t be reading this ;) It’s simple and to the point. You can create any kind of dish you would like, as long as you stick to your grocery list. I started my mother on this grocery program, and she’s lost 15 pounds, without lifting a finger for exercise. Yes, true, I swear.

This is a LOW CARB/LOW GLYCEMIC diet, with controlled portions.if you have no clue how much you should be eating, I suggest using apps like, My Fitness pal, or Calorie Counter for the first few weeks, to get a sense of how many calories you should be consuming in relation to your weight, and what your goal is. You will see, the cleaner you eat, the more you can enjoy. For serious results, were taking 1200-1500 cals a day.
Eating 5 times a day, with 20-30 grams off protein in each meal will help to keep you full and help remind your brain and body that “yes, I will be feeding you again, so…don’t store fat pleaaaase, Thank you”

Here’s your list babes! Pin it, and take it mobile with you every week when you hit the store!

Other common questions I get are:
” What do you snack on, on a low carb diet, other than meat and cheese?”

Sounds silly, but there is this stigma with low carb newbies, that all we eat is meat, bacon, cheese, and that’s it. Rubbish!

Another question being:
” What do you bake with, or what substitutions do you use when baking or making sweet treats?”

I know that sometimes, my recipes call for ingredients that may intimidate you or look completely foreign, but once you are familiar, it will amaze you how much you can make that sticks to your LOW CARB lifestyle, and is similar or better than your typical cupcakes, breads, puddings, or cookies.

So, I’ve made up a little video explaining all of the products that I use in my kitchen! Low carb style! Look them up, write them down, whatever, cuz these are essentials.

Other supplements that may be beneficial to the success of your weight loss are the following:

(On an empty stomach. A.M.)

(With food 2 x a day)

( 1-2 x a day)

( before a workout/ before bed)

Alright! Lets get into PHASE 2:
Now that you’ve got your diet plan on point, it’s time to get excited about exercise!
Below are ways to jump start a workout plan. No more excuses. This, NOW, is your time! I have a full time job, am a full time blogger, and I STILL make time to prepare meals, and make working out a part of my life.. 5 times a week. there are no excuses. Find a love for fitness.

Create a workout log for yourself with the fitness goals of that week.
Here is my example for this week, and remember, your rest, or OFF days are just as important.
Keep in mind that “OFF” day, doesn’t mean, lay on the couch and scarf down pizza, ice cream, and donuts, it simply means, you are giving your muscles a break. Your diet should remain the same. Don’t consider it a “cheat” day. I hate that word…it’s such a trigger word for me.

Your exercise schedule should include a mixture of cardiovascular training and strength training.
I have found, that the best cardio for me, is High Intensity Interval Training.I found that on Pinterest, there are some really great HIIT routines, you could do either, at home, or at the gym.

Strength training: I can’t stress how IMPORTANT this is as part of your fitness routine. Run, and run, and run alllll you want, but strength training is what’s gonna make it last, help you build muscle, and help you burn more for a longer period of time.

It’s a combination of both cardio and strength training that will keep you lean and ripped!

Tips to help you though to success! If you need a cheerleader, I will be there with freakin bells on! Anytime you need a boost, or have a question, shoot me an email, or comment below, and I’m there baby!

Cuz “god, I really regret working out” said NOBODY….EVER!

Get these great logs, that you can easily print out! Find them at Fit Station.
Follow and keep track of your progress!

And last but not least….. Make some playlist that will inspire you to get moving! Something upbeat, and powerful! Here’s my recent playlist for when I hit the gym! Check it out!

Ok, now that the holidays are over, can I get a HALLELUJAH to this statement! lol. I thought it was a perfect thought to take the piss.;) I’m sure we all had our fair share of naughty…but DELICIOUS foods during last weeks festivities, right?

Well I enjoyed every second of it. Even though I indulged, as I know,as we all should know, It’s gonna be OK ladies. We are done feeling guilty, REMEMBER? So this post it dedicated to not stressing on the past, and looking forward to a bright, and active future. yeah?

My last gluttonous meal of the holiday, started off healthy with this yummy salad, then Mom busted out her famous, homemade pizzas.

You see….It’s all good. Why? Because I made sure to hit the gym straight from work before heading over the folk’s house (duh) AND…. It was my last dinner with my brother and Sarah before they headed back to Canada, so we celebrated with wine, pizza and dessert. Bliss.

I’m sorry, but look at this beaut. The works.

We had a great evening and a wonderful holiday, and since I had the three days off, my inner regimen was off.

I’m ready to go back to my random healthy breakfasts and scheduled workouts. I’ve come to realize that I do really well when things are set to a certain schedule. I find it helps to hold myself accountable and it becomes less likely for me to “fall of the wagon” anyone else?

This weeks meals will be mostly protein and vegetables, with the exception, of course, of a couple dinners out with friends. For sure planning to hit the farmer’s market on Sunday morning, to pick up bags full of veggies to roast, blend, and juice. Ohhhh, maybe make the “Glowing Green Goddess” a couple mornings for a delicious detox smoothie. I’ve tried making large batches of food at a time to have things ready for the whole week. You know, for packed lunch and ready to heat dinners, so that I really stay on track, but….you see, I just really LOVE to cook, so I prefer making small batches of a variety of foods for the week, and I never get bored. I grocery shop once a week, get everything I need, and play off of that. See my grocery list.

As far as the workouts for the week:

One of my favorite quick morning breakfasts is this! Remember a couple weeks ago I hit up RAW food world for the monthly goodie stock up? Well, I am obsessing over this RAW pumpkin seed butter. I love that fact that it’s not really sweet, but smooth, and not oily at all!

I took this pic before I realized that my sugar fee strawberry jam had started to go bad so…..

I used Natures Hollow apricot jam instead

With a paleo coconut wrap and 1/2 banana. I think that if I hadn’t added the banana, I would’ve been starving in an hour. Lordy! It feels good to being back to my clean foods.

My lunches have been looking like this as of this week. Delicious grilled salmon with just a bit of lemon, salt, and pepper. Over a simple salad. Occasionally adding roasted winter vegetables. I’m especially loving my kabocha squashes. I could eat that shiz up all day! Sometimes, I sub salmon for lean chicken breast, or lean ground beef with spices.
Something that is absolutely **always** in my fridge, HARD BOILED EGGS:) I can snack on them all day. I boil around 6 at a time, and take them to work everyday. I don’t ever eat the yolk, cuz frankly… I feel like I’m eating an embryo. A baby chicken… Effing gross, and if I’m eating this many eggs, I really don’t need all that cholesterol.
Also… Let’s talk about… How I began hating egg yolks when I convinced myself I was allergic to em’. It’s been 3 years. Lol. I am currently trying to build my immunity to this allergy.. ;)

I just had to post this pic. I was cracking up when I plated this. This *beauty * is my sorry ass attempt at banana/ egg white pancakes. I had taken these great shots of the “prep” and the cooking process… Allllll excited for the big finish. Of course expecting these pretty and plump lil cakes and I got this embarrassing excuse of a thing. The taste was good but, Dare I try to to even pretend to take a halfway decent pic of this. Hell no. You’re gettin the iPhone version.

Here’s my sunshine. Roasted kabocha for the week. I eat the skin and all. More fiber for meeeee! I need all I can get. Trrrrust me gurrrrl:/

Annnnd, Last but not least…. A nice way to end week, hellllll the year…. to my surprise, I was honored with the “Stylist of the Year” award for Sassoon Beverly Hills salon. Yeay!!! What an awesome way to hurrraaaayyyy to 2012.
No matter what shitty things have gone on for you this year. Just know, that you can make the next year better and happier than the last one. **YOLO!**
Ok, so we only have a few days left to figure out what our New Years resolutions will be. I’ve been seriously contemplating this thought… Do they *actually *hold up? Are we just putting added pressure and stress to our lives? *or*, *is it healthy to set standards and expectations for ourselves to encourage a better lifestyle? *

Listen, to each is own. For me, I need to be realistic. If I set resolutions that are too hard to accomplish, I’ll get depressed and stressed knowing that I’m struggling to reach them. I think I would prefer to set smaller, more reachable goals, so that I don’t obsess.

2013 is all about **YOU** darlings.
**YOU ** are enough.
**YOU** are strong.
**YOU** are worth it.

Get yourself some new outfits, maybe join a new workout class.
Stress less and smile more;)

Cheers to new friends, to us, and our health!
Yes.. This is where we toast.. With champagne;)
I wish all of you a wonderful and SAFE New Year’s Eve!
