Goood lordy I’ve been a bit MIA, I do apologize! Although I don’t have a recipe to share with y’all today, I DO have a fun post for you!;)
If you don’t already know, a couple of my best girlfriends live in the heart of beautiful San Francisco, and I was in dyer need of a mini vacation;)
So I arrived Friday early morning, by the way….SOOOO proud of myself for navigating my “awful sense of direction self ” though the BART system. phweeeeee! lol. Such a nervous dork….”um, excuse me sir…this way? Oh um, can you help me figure the ticket machine??” Bahahahaha wtf.

Anyway…. I made it alive and managed to walk…with my luggage…all the way from my stop, to my girlfriends house. That was my workout for the whole 4 days. Woops. ;)

Unfortunately this pic does not do this view justice. It looks gloomy out, but in reality it was sunny and high 60′s low 70′s the whole time. I am one lucky betch!


Walking through the streets, yes…with my luggage (total tourist) a dropped everything to snap a pic of some gorgeous fresh flowers. Flowers are a weakness. Obsessed. So much variety, full of color, absolutely STUNNING!


Omggggggg…now THAT’S a view babes! Over looking the bay on Telegraph Hill. My friends are blessed to wake up to this every morning. WOW.

Cheers-ing to a fab day with a beautiful and crisp Rose by Donkey & Goat. Even if you think you are not a “rose” person, please give this a try. I soooooo enjoyed it!
Oh, and btw…since I became a total WINO, I joined delectable which is a super fun app for wine lovers. The fun part is, that you get to share and post reviews on all the wines you enjoy with friends! Look into it, it’s really cool!


O, so this pic right here…prrrrrety much sums up all my faves at once. Well, I lied actually…that German Riesling (trader Joe’s ) not my fave…but otherwise, the view, the triple cream cheese, prosciutto, figs, and nuts…HOT DAMN! I swear I could eat that everyday. Every SINGLE FUCKIN DAY. oh…wait. I’m missing some dark chocolate. Lol

OHHH yessss….and the drinking continues. (No shame)
On this particular night, we decided to cook at home. Very gourmet daaaaaalinggggg.
The cheese plate was our first course…. (In France..the cheese plate would actually be more for dessert paired perhaps with dessert wine) but here in the states….gimme that shit firrrrst! ;)

These delicious crostinis were course #2.
This is such a great idea for a dinner party.. Super easy and everyone loves a great way to add variety and make some vegetarian, vegan, are carnivore! Helllllllllo.

Paired with a bottle of Sorelle Bronca Prosecco. Super crisp and clean finish, with a very slight sweetness. Yummmmmmm

Course #3:
Pear/ Gorgonzola salad with chopped pecans and a lemon vinaigrette.
Paired with: Manincor Réserve Della Contessa 2012. ( a delicious white blend of Pinot Bianco- Chardonnay- Sauvignon)

I honestly can’t remember the last time I had real pasta ( non miracle noodles. Lol) Maybe like…fuckin yearssss ago.
So worth it! Devoured 2 plates full.

A serious must while visiting San Francisco… Famous Irish coffees from The Buena Vista! it’s actually VERY hard to have just 1…. Just sayin.

Oh yes…some Chinese bar with pool tables and happy hour. My kinda spot. I think this was also before I fell asleep at the other bar.. Yep. I remember now.


Up and at em’ early Sunday morning with a great walk along the water. Seriously… Look at this beautiful day!!

Oh look! What a surprise….. CARBS! this spot is the booooommmmbbbbb for DA NOOOOODLE HUNNNNNAYYYY!!! Chubby noodle in North beach is pretty much the shit.


So I stuffed by biscuit ass into a mini black dress, and Nat & I hit the town! Woot woot!

Had some great tapas at El Techo…oh…and that’s also a pitcher of grapefruit margarita… That May or may not have been the best idea.


And this is when shit got weird….. Lol


Headed to Nat’s favorite local bar and met up with some friends;) by last call…we almost got into a fight with the lady who wouldn’t let us use the pool table (cuz she kept winning, bitch) lol.
Caught an Uber , and stumbled are way up the stairs to her building.


Pretty safe to say…the next morning, was a bit rough. Lol. We had planned to go to a boot camp class at 9:30 am at the local StudioMix, but we decided that walking to breakfast would be a much better workout. Hangovers justify laziness.
But hey, at least we have our workout clothes on…..


After breakfast, we walked, & WaLkEd..& WALKED! Up and down loadz of hills, of course feeling better after some food. Nat took me allllll over the city. No joke. We were feelin grrrrreat! So, it’s 5 o’clock somewhererreeee! Maybe it was time to try out some local brewskis! Lol

We stopped at Magnolia to try a super delicious Kalifornia Kölsch hand crafted and local beer. Not quite a shot glass, but not quite a pint. Just right.


Oh yes, and the San Francisco FOOD TOUR continues…..
We HADto hit up TARTINE of course. This was our lunch spot. TARTINE is one of SF’s most well known restaurants. Mostly famous for this ridiculous bread pudding. Omgggggg. Gimme gimme moreeeee.
Here’s the problem…you walk up…you order…they hand you the dessert first, since it’s already prepared. Then, you go sit down with your number and wait for your actual lunch.
Well… the next shot you will see what we ordered. But in the meantime, let’s talk about HOW THE FUCK YOU’RE GONNA MAKE ME STARE AT MY DESSERT WHILE STARVING WITH NO LUNCH IN FRONT OF ME!!!

SO……we ate dessert before lunch. Bahahahahahaha.
We of course ordered the bread pudding, and I just HAD to try the lemon bar. I LOVE anything lemon. I had to.
So we both sat…moaned and ga-ga’d..(call it an orgasm) and devoured that shit. Wowowowowowow. It was so worth it, and people were staring. Then you see it…now you don’t.


Lunch is served…. Holy grail of GRILLED CHEESE! The “cheese tasting” sandwich. 3 different melted cheeses inside a perfectly pressed and crusty panini. Served with a delicious pickled carrot, and a green salad. This is where I gained pound 5.


We continued to walk and attempt to digest. This is what I appreciate most about this city. People are out..people walk everywhere..the art. Omg the STREET ART is just…OUT OF THIS WORLD. everywhere you look, vibrant splashes of color on the walls. Like real artists…not just all that gross tagging with sharpie shit you see all over LA.

The day, unfortunately, was coming to an end. I had to be at the airport by six. Of course, our thoughts immediately went to, ” well, I mean…..we have to have a last meal!”

Jesus. Here it comes.

DELFINA. There are no words.
Appetizer….bomb mussels.

Main course…. Broccoli Raab pizza.

Dessert…. Almond brittle gelato & blood orange sorbet.
Seriously…just stop.

Well. That was my idea of a fuckin vacation! I ate and drank through the damn city like a champ. Thank you to my beautiful friends who showed me such a wonderful time! Love u.
This is me….7 lbs heavier…happy as a clam…and ready to head home. Time to CLEANSE!!!! ;)

Alright y’all. I’ve been home now 4 days, and wanted to wait to post this so that I could review this 3 day cleanse by Juice Crafters. First…I chose juice crafters cuz they were close to my house, but a lot of the cold pressed juice pleases have a cleanse of their own in which I’m sure, serve the same purpose and give similar results.
So here’s the deal. I was soooo ready for this. I’ve never been sooo excited to NOT eat, in my life. I needed to shrink that tummy back up. I’ve never been a “juice cleanse” type person, but I was ready to try something new.

It felt like a breeze! I felt amazing and light as a feather! I really thought I would be a shaky crabby bitch on this but frankly, I was never really hungry. Lol. Consuming 8 of these is actually very filling and a bit of a task to get them down every 2 hrs. They were DELICIOUS, but I mean…I wasn’t like, pounding them, you know?! So by the time I would finish one, it was time for another;) perf!

In fact, it went so well, that I added a 4th day! I know!
The only thing about this. Type of cleansing….I was always cold!! Lol
Oh, and I couldn’t do any strength training at the gym. Just did light cardio and walked a lot. Fine with me, I felt like a skinny bitch!

Today is my first day eating actual food.
I’m taking it slow and incorporating fresh fruits, veggies, avocado, a sweet potato, and 1 juice for today.
I’m really thinking about trying to become more PLANTPOWER lady. Lol. Time to cut out a lot of animal products. Maybe a figure out FINALLY what makes me so bloated. Perhaps dairy? Hmmm. This is gonna be an experiment.

Happy hump day beauties!!!! Today’s post is short but sweet:) I’ve got a really SUPER DUPER EASY recipe for a pre-workout 90 calorie snack idea! for me, because I tend to workout so early in the morning, I consider this 1/2 of my breakfast. I brake up my breakfast into pre-workout & post-workout.

For example what I did this morning.




This is the perfect balance or carbs for energy before lifting and protein post training.

Banana Nut protein cookies
Prep time

Cook time

Total time


Adapted from
Serves: 9

  • 2 very ripe mashed bananas (I thawed previously frozen ones)
  • 1½ cup quick cooking oats or traditional. (either is fine)
  • 2 scoops protein powder. (I used 1 scoop of About Time Banana Creme, and 1 scoop of Isopure 0-carb Vanilla)
  • (optional: A small handful chopped walnuts and raisins)

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix rolled oats and protein powder well.
  3. Mash your two bananas, and add to dry mix. Mixing and mashing very well.
  4. Optional: Fold in chopped walnuts or raisins. (this will increase macros a slight bit per serving. Fat and sugar content)

90 calories per cookie WITHOUT walnuts or raisins. This is a great pre-workout snack! Remember…Carbs are good, we use them for energy before a killer workout. Protein AFTER;)

The only problem with these….it’s hard to just have one!!!!!! Lol.

I am a huge believer in MORNING FITNESS! This silly selfie, like allll my gym selfies, are taken between 5 AM- 7 AM. YEP. I’ve always preached it. The best part about early morning workouts, your body still practically has no idea what the fuck is going on, so you could pretty much trick it into doing anything! lol. The second best thing, is that, you realllly set the tone for the rest of your day. When you start your day on the right foot, on the “fit” foot, you are less likely to binge throughout the day.
I promise you that.

So, first off, let me just say it right now. Please be cautious when scrolling through these pictures, as you will find some, “I reallllllllllly shouldn’t be eating this”. Now, these pics wouldn’t typically be sooo offensive, but remember, I am now on PAHSE 3 of the Live Fit Trainer, and what you should’ve seen in these pics, was chicken breast, eggs, and brocolli….buuuuuuuut that is far from what I’ve been eating these last few days. GOOOOD LORD CARB-LOAD! In fact, thinking of things now….I think the last few posts have been, me admitting my latest binge. Geez. I’m sorry. That’s annoying. I need to stop that. I guess I’m still struggling to find that balance, huh. Welp… day at a time ladies.

If you know me well enough…then you would know that my favorite word of all time is “COZY” Not only is it my favorite word, it is in fact, my favorite thing to do. Yep, be cozzzzzzzzy!!!! I fu*#ing love it! A fireplace near, a happy puggy pug, and a nice hot nespresso cappuccino! This is pretty much the ideal fall day for me;)

This mini vacation was sooo lovely. I really needed a few days to just really unwind. Caught up on all my fall (oct-Nov) reads, and had yummy ass granola.

I absolutely love seeing all of the colors changing! Minnetonka slippers & PINK sweats all day long. No….I’m serious. All day. Love it. Sooooo cozzzzzyyyyyyy.



This is my fave morning scramble! It’s a bit Italian, and very easy.



1 tbsp avocado oil

1 cup of egg whites

2 whole eggs

3 applegate chicken apple sausage links

Big handful spinach

1/2 chopped shallot

Chopped fresh rosemary

Chopped fresh thyme

Garlic salt


Topped with fresh Parmesan


Sauté shallots, then add sausage and spinach. Sauté until softened. Add eggs, herbs, and spices. Last but not least, top with some fresh Parmesan and serve. It is DA BOMB!

Remember when I mentioned offensive food pics…. Well…here she blows. Omg. I ate like pretty much everything. So good. Tomatina was on fire today. The girls took me here since it’s one of their favorite spots in town.

The spread…. Pumpkin purée soup, fried polenta in marinara, garlic rolls, spinach salad in a wrapped flat bread, salad(with creamy dressing) & focaccia bread with bruschetta! WTF SOOOOOO GOOD! A bit heavy for lunch, but hell with it! ;) plus…all that shopping made these bitches hangryyyyy! Lol.

Oh, and it didn’t end there my friends.
Dinner was just as bit of a shit show. Let me rephrase that…… Dat shit was da BOMB, EXPLOSIVE! Yep.
Beef chilli…garbanzo bean salad, beef tri-tip, hot-dogs, fries, etc. Did I mention, it was a buffet!!! Dun dun duuuuuunnnnn nn
Then came time for dessert. Of course a meal is never complete without dessert, right!? Said the binger inside of me. So, of course, homegirl decided that it would be an amazing idea to have an ice cream sandwich. I mean…are you fuckin kiddin’ me! What kind of whales belly did I come from! This is the problem when I go out to eat. It’s pretty much a trigger for me to just throw it all out the window! And no, you are right, if I was having this every once in a while, then yes, I would say, “enjoy it, everyone’s gotta still live and enjoy life!” Right!? Well, not when it’s happening alllllllll the freakintime! My god.


Since it’s all about balance, we threw some veggies in the mix;) not just any ol’ mix, this mix was soooooo delightful, and tasted amazing RAW! We were meant to grill these veggies, but ended up enjoying it so much more raw, that we just said, “eff it!”

These veggies were so easy to whip up, and are a super healthy side dish to pair with any protein! We found great, fresh pre-packaged vegetables (zucchini, cauliflower, mixed peppers, onions, asparagus, broccoli, carrots) at the local supermarket.

Anyway….finally home, it was time to get back to business. Back to clean eating, and workout planning. I made my favorite PUMPKIN PROTEIN BARS but, this time, made them in cute lil thanksgiving themed loaf cartons.

This recipe make 24 small squares, (if made in a 9×13 pan) once cut up. I can have 4 squares a day! ;) yeay! This is the best recipe I’ve found! Thanks to Jamie Eason!


The recipe also can make 3 mini loaf pans. So, I made 1 with walnuts and 2 without. I figure these would also make for a really great home-baked gift! Super cute!


Another one of my go-to favorite snacks, are these TURKEY MEATLOAF MUFFINS! seriously, with only 80 CALORIES per muffin, you need to get into it! Full of protein, and really filling, these are really helpful in keeping you in track of your daily macronutrients.

I haven’t done a ““GET THE LOOK” in quite sometime, so I thought I would share a layered look that I’m loving right now. As usual, there’s a TJ MAXX find in there;)

During the change in seasons, especially in LA, my favorite thing to do, is layer. LAYER..LAYER..LAYER! Ok, maybe not quite that many layers but, you know…here in LA, It can go from 85 degrees out, down to 60 degrees by the time you get off work. Especially in November/December. This is always a good excuse to bust out those ankle boots or “booties”. They are the perfect shoe for this season. I love it because, I’m sorry, but I just can’t commit to a full knee night boot until winter.

August…it’s been real. HELLO SEPTEMBER!

Well, well, well…. If it isn’t already September….


Hi babes! Hope everyone had a fantastic & safe Labor Day weekend;) I just can’t believe that August has already flown by! There is still absolutely NO sign of the weather cooling down. Nope. In the valleys, it’s still triple digits! I need a pool! For the holiday weekend, me and some friends decided to get outta the smoldering, desert heat, and head to the beaches of Ventura, CA.


Pierpont Beach….. Amazing weather…amazing friends…and a whole lot of partying;)
Willy came along for the ride;)


We got there around 11:30, and set up our spot. I got the BEST lil table that folds up from crate and barrel, that I’m completely obsessed with, and take everywhere…so we payed out all our snacks and drinks:) we started with mimosas of course, but used light Minute Maid 50% less sugar OJ instead of regular. Some more friends met up, and we moved to light beer. There’s just something so refreshing about an ice cold beer at the beach. Michelob Ultra to be exact. It’s super light, and low carb! Cheers to fun & tan lines;)


Around 4:30 we headed up for a killer (&low carb) BBQ! It was amazing! Lean Jennie-O Italian sausages, marinaded chicken breast, carne asana, bell peppers, spinach salad… OHHH myyyyyyyy!
Chips & salsa…(not so low carb, but still indulged) oooooooo, and some homemade rum, vanilla liquor cake that my friend Jules had brought. A bit of a food coma set in, but, hey…it’s a holiday:) lol.

After din we all headed back down to enjoy the gorgeous sunset. Spectacular. Absolutely stunning.
That night, (sunday) we all went out in downtown Ventura, and had a ball. Super fun..lots of cocktails, and bar hopping. You know what that means…. Monday breakfast would be a cheat… Lol. I was dying for a rich, and delicious Blueberry Cornbread Muffin from Café Nouveau. Hands down fave breakfast joint.


Well, luckily..we made it home without traffic:)
Tuesday came far tooooooo fast.
Somehow, my pretty yellow roses lived though my un-air conditioned apartment for 2 days. WTF. So happy.


I woke up this morning feeling pretty defeated. I gotta tell ya, I cannot hang like I used to. My body was yelling at me for sure. I felt bloated, heavy, and lethargic. At that moment….I made some decisions.
Chill the Fu*% out…

Chill on the drinking!

I quit sugar. (Again)

Stick to low carb… ( with the exception of these healthy carbs: sweet potato (limited) squash. Tomatoes (limited) most fruits. Gluten free oats (sometimes)

Limit snacking.

Listen, all of these things I’ve got to keep reminding myself, and even write down because THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME.
Shake it off ladies. Jump back on the fit train! Today is Tuesday….the day after the holiday…lets do werrrrrk!!!!
I threw on shorts and a sports bra and looked up today’s GPP Fitness WOD.
This was a really great one. Kicked my ass.
Not too busy at work today, so I also plan to take a Corepower class around 4:30 today… Really starting to feel like myself again, after a few days of whatever the fu%*.

Breakfast this morning was DA BOMMMBBBB! Doesn’t look very exciting, but it was exactly what my body was screaming for. Protein..protein..and omegas. Lol.
Work didn’t start till 11:00 am, so I had time to bake a fresh wild caught salmon:)
I made a delicious runny egg and yes, I did eat the yolk. Yummmmmm. I’m a new person.
Lately I’ve stopped using oil sprays, even the organic ones. I’m just over them. I’ve now switched to a teeny bit of coconut oil or Ghee.

Hey y’all!!! Hope everyone’s week is off to a fabulous start! Before I get into it…I must admit: 3 cheat meals last week. Omg. Ok..I’m done. Moving on:) Today is gonna be fab. Not too many plans. Seeing the dentist today…which, love him I swear…but I hate having to see him. Lol.
I spent Sunday with the folks so…sadly, I missed hitting up my usual Farmer’s Market, so I had to get my weekly dose of fresh flowers from Whole Foods. Aka: Super fucking expensive flower selection. This week, it’s white roses. Feeling like a virgin;)

Ok, so I know it’s not #flexfriday but, I had to show off my new Reebok cross fit tank!
Of course I won’t be showing it off without the hard work that comes with that shit! Lol

I planned to try one of these amazing 1000 calorie burning ass kickers this morning, but I ran outta time. I know.excuses…excuses.

You see. My problem is never a lack of motivation to work out, it’s more my diet. I do really well for a bit, then tend to throw it all out the window for a couple days. No bueno. All that work…and sometimes for nothing. What has improved, is my guilt and self punishment. I have gotten sooooo much better at controlling the binges, and refusing to feel guilty.

I’m babbling. Give this workout a try. If this is all you do all week, then be it. Remember…just move. You’re beating everyone on the couch;)


So, 10:00 A.M. Came damn quick. Ughhhhhhhh. Time for some really exciting dental work.
I have to get… Wait for it…. A CROWN!!!!! Ajhhhhhhhhh. Sick.
This is my amazing, genius dentist, Dr. Ourfalian.

Listen, I hate dental work as much as the next cry baby, but he just, absolutely makes the visit sooooo pleasant. He is very gentle, conservative & very honest. Everyone that I’ve recommended to him, has loved him.
I don’t think I have good teeth genes, so I’ve really got to keep with regular 6 month cleanings, as well as flossing after every meal. Do you guys really floss after every meal? I feel like a creep for only flossing once a day. Sometimes, I even forget to do that. Omg. So bad. I started to notice that my gums would bleed when I would floss sometimes…and, that my friends…is NOT THE BUSINESS!

In doing some research, I came across this. VERY interesting. Sometimes, we forget how much bacteria can enter through our mouths. Read this bit, and you will be surprised.

The rest of the day was free. (Yeayyyyyyyy) I got home & of course, I was starving. One problem….if I tried to eat anything that required chewing, I would chew off my tongue. So, I had extra cooked oatmeal with flax milk, chia seeds, raisins, mashed figs, and protein powder.

Yep….it’s now 7:30 p.m…..haven’t been able to get off the couch from so much mouth pain.

Instead….I cooked the rest of the day. Making dinner and meal prepping tomorrow’s packed lunch.
I hadn’t gone grocery shopping, but I pulled out a few fridge staples, And made something sooooo yummy for dinner.


By far….one of the easiest dins-for-1 I’ve ever made. For a meal…Super low cal, andddddd soooo filling!

Stuffed Zucchini Boats

  1. Pre-heat oven 375 degrees.
  2. slice both zucchinis lengthwise.
  3. With a small spoon, scoop out the center.
  4. Add ½ a wedge of The Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb LIGHT cheese into each ½ of zucchini.
  5. Lightly sauté thinly sliced shallots and chopped garlic.
  6. Top stuffed boats with sauté mix.
  7. bake face up for 25 minutes.

While skimming through my instagram feed, I came across @angelamccafferty and her ridiculous…super healthy recipe, motivation, and fitness profile. I searched through her pics, and found my inspiration for tonight’s dessert!
Just a few alterations to the recipe… Check it out…print that shit…and make it every night!
It is the most DELICIOUS, MOST MOIST MUG CAKE evaaaaaaaa

Moist, MOST delicious MUG cake w/peanut butter topping

Serves: 1

  • CAKE
  • 2 tbsp organic coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet of stevia
  • a pinch of pure vanilla bean powder or vanilla extract
  • ¼ organic egg whites
  • 2 tbsp 0% greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Flax milk, unsweetened almond milk, or water
  • 1 tbsp PB2
  • 2 tbsp 0% chobani greek yogurt

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Use a fork & make sure to remove all chunks.20130826-160352.jpg
  3. Add all wet ingredients & mix well.
  4. Transfer to a greased mug or small bowl.
  5. Microwave in 1 minute increments .
  6. Make sure to leave a bit of space because cake will rise as it’s cooked.
  7. -3 minutes

Happy Sunday lovelies!!!!

It is a mighty HOT one today! Up bright and early this A.M. And ready for a packed day:) first things first, COFFEE! Then, tidy up the house. The folks are stopping by today… After scarfing down 1/2 a quest bar and pounds of fresh cut watermelon, I headed to my favorite Sunday hotspot, the Farmer’s Market.


Went a lil kookoo:) Always buying more than I actually need. I’m back to juicing, so I made sure to lots of greens and fruits.


Best part about the Farmer’s, are the fresh flowers! Today, I picked up 4 bunches of beautiful dahlias. They’re literally in every room now…until, of course, I forget to change the water, and they all wilt. Lol. The worst, I am.

But aren’t they stunning! The color is outrageous! They don’t let off any kind of smell, but whatever. I’ve got plenty of candles:)

Oh, yes….there was a new lady in town selling her homemade RAW cashew cheese. I tried it, and of course had to buy it. It was delicious. I’ve always loved the raw lifestyle, and incorporate it into my day to day diet as much as possible. Although I don’t think I could ever be fully raw, like…everrrr, I like the idea of its principles sometimes:) part-time. Lol

Nary Dairy is produced by a husband/wife team out of the Chefs Center in Pasadena, offering the “The cream of the Non-Dairy crop” with plenty of delicious cashew cheese flavors to choose from. It’s seriously a nice alternative! Loving them!


I’ve been throwing in a small beet in my morning juices, so I bought a bunch this morning to stock up. Anyway, you know the green leaves coming out of the beet? Well, I used to always cut that bit off, and toss it. Wtf. I guess I just thought it was good for nothin’. Poor beet greens, so misunderstood:(

WellllllI….I finally found a way to not let any of it go to waste! And guess what!? It’s the bommmmbbbbbb!



Nutty Garlicky Sauteed Beet Greens

A delicious way to enjoy Beet greens! But the bitterness with loads of flavor! Yummmmm
Serves: 3-4

  • 2-3 big bunches Beet greens with some stem(washed thoroughy)
  • 2 whole galic cloves
  • 1 large Shallot
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp sherry vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp organic honey or a few drops stevia
  • 1-2 tsp sesame seeds ( as desired)
  • salt & pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne or crushed red pepper flakes

  1. Rinse beet greens very well.
  2. In a medium skillet or wok, heat 1 tbsp coconut oil on low-med heat.
  3. *Add thinly sliced shallot. Sautee until soft.
  4. *Add clean beet greans.
  5. *Salt, Pepper, & spicy pepper NOW.
  6. *Raise temp to Medium.
  7. *Add water, honey, and vinegar, and sautee for 5-7 minutes.
  8. *Add garlic last.
  9. *Once sauteed to desired softness, stir in sesame seeds.



Today’s WOD was GPP FITNESS, Cardio Tababta.
Lets just say…it was gnarly. I did this at home before heading out for the day, and because I don’t have a row machine, I subbed that move for back rows with a theraband. Try this one out, it’s awesome! 8 rounds of each move for 20 sec work/ 10 sec rest.

If you don’t know what a move is. Don’t worry. On their site, you can click on the excessive, and it immediately takes you to YouTube, where everything is explained to you very quick and efficiently.

Time to relax:) Mom and Pop picked me up, and we headed to Santa Monica to celebrate this pretty’s 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!! My baby cousin Emma:) she’s perfect!

We took Wilbur, and all hung out at the park. Everyone was out. Love it. We BBQed and enjoyed fun and laughs. Um, I ate a lot today, oh, and I had cake. There! Lol. ( Making up for it tomorrow)

Completely consumed with summer scents lately. My new Archipelago pine-apple candle is unreal! So fresh and sweet, I wanna eat it up. New fitness fave… COREPOWER YOGA.
I got really into while in Canada, so when I got back, I decided to give them a try. They are just a few blocks from my house, but check out their site, they’ve got studios everywhere. It’s mostly heated yoga, but offer non heated as well, and have amazing hours. I’m takin’ from 6:00 am to 9:00 p.m. I’ve been going probably 3 times a week, and feel incredible.
As a new student, they offer 1 week free as a trail. :)
Ok, sooooo….I was supposed to quit my addiction to sugar free gum….but I decided to quit quitting…. ;)
I died and went to heaven when I saw this new flavor at target. Saw it…bought it…chewed it…loved it. The struggle is real.
Ahhhh, well that does it. As my fab Sunday comes to an end…. I now am headed to get an hour massage at Foot Inspiration, and then back home to start thinking up some new Zumba routines for my babes!

Homemade Protein Bars…a 50 day no cheat challenge, and some fitspiration;)

Tired of all those protein bars out there, full of sugar, additives, and ingredients you can’t pronounce?? I AM!!!

The only protein bars that I’ve found so far that I absolutely LAAAAV are QUEST BARS, but honestly, they can get quite expensive sooooooooo….this is the best alternative I’ve found, plus I’m obsessed with pumpkin. All year round.
I’ve made sure to attach a printout option as well as the nutritional facts.


Only 77 calories each, you will NOT feel a bit of guilt. I originally found this recipe on monimeals.combut altered it a bit to satisfy my diet needs.

Healthy Protein Pumpkin Bars
I cut these in rectangles and wrap each one in foil. They are a perfect on the go protein snack.
  • 4 egg whites
  • ¾ cup organic (canned) pumpkin
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp sugar free honey (Natures Hollow)
  • ¼ cup oat flour (I just ground up my oats in a coffee grinder, but could also use a food processor or bullet)
  • 2 scoops vanilla protein powder. I use About Time Whey
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp cinnamon (or less if you feel so)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Optional: crushed walnuts or pecans sprinkled over the top before placing in oven.

  1. Preheat ove to 350 F.
  2. In one bowl, mix the egg whites, pumpkin, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  3. In another small bowl whisk the oat flour, protein powder, and all the spices along with the baking powder.
  4. Add this to the wet ingredients and make sure to mix very well.
  5. Pour mixture into a baking loaf pan or a square pan coated with cooking spray.
  6. Add the nuts if you want over the top.
  7. Bake about 18-20 min or until a tooth comes out clean. Enjoy!


My diet has been yo-yo-ing for a bit now, and realize that is the reason why my body isn’t changing much. Those of you who know me, know I’m quite extreme when it comes to it. I’m trying not to be so obsessive and stress so much about it, so in light of my obsessive/binger nature, I’ve decided to go 50 DAYS STRONG without cheating or binging to try and alter how I view food.
It’s funny, I was gonna do 100 days, but then realized that my best friends wedding was during that time and thought…hmmm, ” ain’t nobody got time for dat” and frankly, 100 days would be really Elgin hard for me, so lets start here…
50 days. I am again, breaking up with food. Kinda feels like I’m going sober.

Here’s so far the plan this week for workouts…. So far I’ve kept to it…well, except today…I didn’t get a chance to run;( womp wooooooomp, but I promise to make up for it. No really, I swear;)
I find that if I write down the workout plan for the week, I’m most likely going to stick to it.

Loves!!!! So sorry I’ve been MIA:( I’ve been sooooooo busy, and there are lots of changes happening. I’m super excited, but I gotta tell ya, a few panic attacks during the last couple days. Been playing catch up since coming back from Vegas along with many other things.

Ok, where do I begin….as you know, I’m gearing up for my ZUMBA instructor license, and I’ll be teaching my first classes starting April 1st. Ahhhhhhhhhh, I’m freaking a bit. Ive gotta learn 15 songs by that day. On top of that, I’ve been totally busy at work, hence, the late blogging. So yes, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but I’ve got great news! I’m a pretty lucky girl, I must say, cuz my boss has agreed to let me work only 4 days instead of 5 days a week. I know, pretty amazing. Starting April 1st, I will be having Wednesdays off, which will allow me the time to catch up, teach a Zumba class, and get my blogging done.
I can’t tell you how wonderful it feels to gain that balance.

Though I’ve been neglecting the computer the last few days, my workouts have been on fire! Im planning on learning 2 new songs (choreography) for next weeks ZUMBA classes. Getting my feet wet I guess you could say;) this weekend it’s on…I’ll be practicing in front of the mirror for like 10 hrs. Lol.

Although a slow start to the week, Wednesday I kicked ass with a fasted cardio session in the a.m.


On the elliptical for intervals by 5:30a.m
50 minutes
Just water, no food.


I highly doubt that I’m the only one that listens to hardcore rap when they work out….
This shit gets me going. Sometimes I sing along, and forget others can hear me… Whoops.


Burned 524 cals before ever even realizing I was awake. :)


Of course after a workout, I’m starved. I felt like something fresh, green, and hearty, so I made up some random stuffed egg wrap that was delicious! I had loads of kale I needed to use up, and seeing as St. Patty’s day is around the corner, I figured green is what’s up.


For the ” Green Protein Egg Wrap”


A handful of clean kale

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk

1 scoop whey protein

2-3 drops stevia

1/4 cup egg whites


Blended all ingredients in the vitamix, greased a square flat pan, and poured mixture. On med heat, allow to cook like a thin crepe. Or like you would cook an omelette without the folding, just flip.


For the filling

1-2 tbsp fromage blanc or nonfat sour cream or Greek yogurt

1 tbsp hot & sweet mustard ( I like Trader Joes brand)

1/4 thinly sliced apple

Low sodium turkey slices

A handful of mixed greens

Thinly sliced tomatoes ( didn’t originally add this, but regretted not doing so…so u should add)




Thinly, layer ingredients, and roll up carefully. Serve with a bit of siracha or even a tbsp of hummus.


This is a great alternative to eating a sandwich on two pieces of bread. This is completely LOW CARB.




My lunches have been totally predictable. Same shit, different day. ;) I don’t mind though. I’m obsessed with salmon right now. I bake a few fillets, and take them to luch everyday with a side salad. Healthy, filling, and full of essential fatty acids.


After work, I headed straight to a doubled up workout. 1 hour ZUMBA + 1 hr body sculpting. I told you I killed it today;)

By 9:00 p.m, I was dunzoooooooo. I gotta take as many classes as possible to get ready for my teaching debut;)


Favorite part: the cool down. just as important as the workout itself.

Burned another 830 cals tonight. Not bad!!!

Hey everyone! Hope you guys had a super fun weekend! We are back to eating right and working out right!???ok, so on this subject…. I’ve been getting a lot of feedback from you guys in regards to making the transition to a low carb/FIT lifestyle. I love hearing rom you guys because, remember….you inspire me too! So, this post is dedicated to you, in order to help make your transition smooth and worth it. I promise the hardest part, is getting started. Once you start seeing results, you’ll be hooked.

Now… I have to say to you that, everything I share with you, are facts that have worked for me, and anyone who has tried this regimen. I am not a nutritionist and I am not a certified personal trainer but, c’mon guys… It ain’t rocket science. The thing is…we all know how to really gain results.

Number 1: You burn off more than you’re taking in.

Number 2:We supplement our bodies with whole food and non processed foods.

Number 3: we follow the 80/20 rule. ( 80 % clean 20% treats)

Number 4: we get our heart rates up for at least 1 hour. 5x a wk. ( that’s right, if you can carry a conversation, you’re not working hard enough)

Lets start your new FIT life with some motivation. Listen, I’m not gonna be there every morning in your ear, telling you to WAKE THE F*%k UP! you must be the one to make your fitness and health a priority. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it is your body, you need to become your own motivator, your own trainer. Think like one, and you will see results. ABSOLUTELY.
Remove the negativity, the ” I cants, or the I’m just sooo tired” and surround yourself with positive thoughts.


Alright, lets kick off with PHASE ONE:
Start with a clear mind, and a plan of attack. Changing bad habits is NOT easy. Trust me, I know. It’s not easy for me sometimes either, but, I find that when I have something to follow, like a program, it helps me feel a sense of accountability, and with that, comes desire, and drive to be better, and get stronger.

Have you ever heard the phrases ” Abs are made in the kitchen”? Or ” Its 75% diet”?
Well folks…this is not a lie or a joke or something someone just made up for shits and giggles.
It’s that simple. If you eat like shit, yes you will feel like shit.

A much as you are preparing your body for this change, you will need to prepare your kitchen for the change too! Time to CLEAR OUT!

If you are someone who’s been eating quite bad for a longer time now and are interested in first doing a healthy cleanse before starting the program…then you might want to check out this post.

Otherwise…I’ve prepared a grocery list for you that will keep you on track of your goals. It’s foolproof. Buy outside of this list, and that’s when we’ll have problems. Lets be honest, If it was working your way, you wouldn’t be struggling and you probably wouldn’t be reading this ;) It’s simple and to the point. You can create any kind of dish you would like, as long as you stick to your grocery list. I started my mother on this grocery program, and she’s lost 15 pounds, without lifting a finger for exercise. Yes, true, I swear.


This is a LOW CARB/LOW GLYCEMIC diet, with controlled portions.if you have no clue how much you should be eating, I suggest using apps like, My Fitness pal, or Calorie Counter for the first few weeks, to get a sense of how many calories you should be consuming in relation to your weight, and what your goal is. You will see, the cleaner you eat, the more you can enjoy. For serious results, were taking 1200-1500 cals a day.
Eating 5 times a day, with 20-30 grams off protein in each meal will help to keep you full and help remind your brain and body that “yes, I will be feeding you again, so…don’t store fat pleaaaase, Thank you”

Other common questions I get are:
” What do you snack on, on a low carb diet, other than meat and cheese?”

Sounds silly, but there is this stigma with low carb newbies, that all we eat is meat, bacon, cheese, and that’s it. Rubbish!

” What do you bake with, or what substitutions do you use when baking or making sweet treats?”

Now that you’ve got your diet plan on point, it’s time to get excited about exercise!
Below are ways to jump start a workout plan. No more excuses. This, NOW, is your time! I have a full time job, am a full time blogger, and I STILL make time to prepare meals, and make working out a part of my life.. 5 times a week. there are no excuses. Find a love for fitness.


Create a workout log for yourself with the fitness goals of that week.
Here is my example for this week, and remember, your rest, or OFF days are just as important.
Keep in mind that “OFF” day, doesn’t mean, lay on the couch and scarf down pizza, ice cream, and donuts, it simply means, you are giving your muscles a break. Your diet should remain the same. Don’t consider it a “cheat” day. I hate that word…it’s such a trigger word for me.

Your exercise schedule should include a mixture of cardiovascular training and strength training.
I have found, that the best cardio for me, is High Intensity Interval Training.I found that on Pinterest, there are some really great HIIT routines, you could do either, at home, or at the gym.

Strength training: I can’t stress how IMPORTANT this is as part of your fitness routine. Run, and run, and run alllll you want, but strength training is what’s gonna make it last,help you build muscle, and help you burn more for a longer period of time.

It’s a combination of both cardio and strength training that will keep you lean and ripped!

Good day all!
I’m glad you liked the latest post on the About Time Protein. I just ordered 36 packets of different favors! STOKED. I ordered some strawberry flavored whey, so I will definitely be trying out recipes and sharing later on.

I wanted to share last nights dinner with you guys, cuz it was super healthy, gorgeous, and easy, and if you’re on a budget, a great idea. My friend Jules has also jumped on the low carb/low glycemic bandwagon with me, and is looking great! She made us a roasted turkey that she just threw in the oven with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. You can find whole turkeys at the grocery stores right now for a really great price.
She roasted some cauliflower, sautéed some onions, threw it all into the blender with a little fat free half & half, and viola!
Also, just tossed arugula in some blood orange olive oil and vinegar. Super easy, and delicious.


We ate right out of the roasting pan! Lol
It was soooo tender! 350 degrees for just under 2 hrs. Then you can keep the rest of it in the fridge to pack for lunches.


I’ve been getting some comments from friends to post more of my workouts, so here’s one that I love doing on the days where I don’t have much time to hit the gym. This is a great one to do right before you jump in the shower. It’s quick. Only 10 minutes.
I’m leaving for San Fransisco tomorrow with my best friends, so I’m trying to get in as much exercise as I can this week. Cuz, believe me, when us girls get together, we love to cook, EAT, and drink!


These mother effers are what I can’t have in my house…so I threw them in my lunch bag today to give to my coworkers. I just really can’t have this in my house. It’s torture.


I started taking the stairs instead of the elevator leaving the parking garage. You never know, maybe it’ll burn at least one of the chocolate square I ate last night :/


Small achievement but something is better than nothing. I found this on pinterest, and though it was was totally appropriate for todays goal. Everyday, strive for the best. If you fall, get right back up.


Today’s eats were really clean for the most part. This is the mantra that I’ve been trying stick to. Although sometimes hard, I know I feel the best when I stick to this type of diet.

All in all, pretty good, except for…Now looking at it, I think I’m having too many nuts in my everyday diet. hmmmmm. Gotta change that a bit. They are just so yummy and snacky,  but easy to over do it.



It was a gorgeous day in LA today. 75 degrees. perfect. Any excuse to bust out my fave pair of grey suede shorts.

8:00 p.m rolled around quick. I got home from work a little achy, so I laid in my living room and did some quick stretches before heading to ZUMBA. I ate my din before class cuz I knew by the time I got home, it would be quite late.

Did I mention to ya’ll that I’m gonna be leaving for San Francisco tomorrow? I’m glad I got one last workout in before the girls trip. I packed my suitcase in a super crazy rush (hopefully I got everything I needed) and took off to Zumba.

Sweaty lady. I was totally and utterly DRENCHED!

Of course I went  ALLLLL out and managed to burn 600 calories. There were lots of new faces in class, and they did GREAT!

I love seeing them get it. It’s sometimes not easy, but everyone BROUGHT IT HOME TODAY!



I LOVE THIS: I found this really great log that you could literally use everyday. It’s really fantastic. And, since receiving comments about posting more workouts and stuff, I thought this would be perfect to keep track of the daily progress, goals, and just seeing where my heads at, you know?

Ok I will tell you the truth… the whole “no Chocolate ” thing… yeah… already broke that. woops.


Tomorrow is a busy day, so I most likely wont be posting, but trust me.. I’m about to go apeshit on the pic sitch in San Fran. Also while there, I love to wake up the earliest. Before the sun fully comes out, I go out and run the city before it wakes…Speaking of this trip…

Number 1: I gotta remember to get my boarding pass early online.

Number 2: Renew my passport, apparenly,it expires in march! eeeeek

Turning a bad day… Into a good one…

Yup… That’s my car…and yesterday had started off on the right foot. Damn!
This day just went from bad to worse, just read on…

On my way to do a client, I got on the freeway, as as I turned my head to switch lanes, BOOM!!!,
They all suddenly pressed their brakes right in front of me, no way I couldn’t hit them. Ughhhhh

Gotta get this fixed right away… Hey, that’s why we get insurance, right?

It get better.
I get home, and thought, “you know what would make me feel better?”
Ahhh, an Epsom salt bath. I was feeling stressed and tight from being tense during the accident, and was seeing signs of a premature headache, so it was just was I was needing.
Well…while I’m in there, I keep wondering why the water level is going down…. So naturally, I just adding hot water. Logical, right?

As soon as I get out, POUNDING at the front door, that sounded like either cops, or a raging jealous boyfriend. ( you know, that kind of pounding). I freaked, put on my robe, and hesitantly opened the door.
It was my poor neighbor panicking.
He took one look at me, ” Were you taking a bath?”
Me: ummmm yeah why.
Neighbor: cuz my ceiling collapsed and is flooding my house.
Me: oh no, I’m sorry.. But I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I have any water anywhere. Hmmmm
Neighbor: you may wanna check your kitchen….
Me: ok………..HOLY SHIT, F*%#!

Yeah…water covering the kitchen floor, coming through the ceiling. Jussssssst perfect.

To top it off, this is the best part as the night was coming to end…. Oh and… I will spare your eyes by not sharing the sick pic, but, Willy had a a bone mid-day that I had forgotten to take away from him, and a few bourse later…freakin threw up all over the place!
I mean….. I just don’t even know what to say. Why do they pick the coziest places to throw up, huh? My area rug, even went upstairs to , so graciously leave me a present on my bedspread. Why can’t you be sick on the DAMN HARDWOOD!!!
I just really loved finding that on my bed.

Nice, full bag of soaked towels I gotta wash.


Ok, I’m done with the pity party. Since the horrible disasters, I turned my frown upside down. :)


#1: I took my 2nd spin class ever today! Super positive experience, although, it was sooooo hard!
I had met up with a girlfriend at crunch gym, so that I could try it out, and we had a blast. Sweaty ladies!

#2: I found the best almond milk!

30 calories per cup and no carbs.
Get into it.


#3: Egg whites, and low salt turkey breast


#4: Pre-cooked rotisserie chickens at whole foods.


#5: Tuberoses. My favorite smelling flower. I wish I could have them all over the house.


#7: Ibuprofin. Lol

Be grateful everyday.

I started with a choice…a choice to make better decisions as a whole.  And today, I slipped up. Yup, I did. But, you know what, for once i don”t feel bad or have any regret because IT”S OK SOMETIMES TO SLIP. I’ts about allowing yourself to go through it sometimes. Since I’ve been working so hard keeping up the fitness and staying on a consistent clean diet, I didn’t feel like it was the end of the world. I used to always wake up the next morning after a late night naughty snack or after a bit of a binge feeling so shameful. What I didn’t realize is that it wasn’t so much the that I ended up consuming more calories than I would ever want to be taking in In one day (sometimes an extra 1000 in a, thinking back.. OmG . geez) It was more the fact that it would turn into a vicious cycle of this “oh well” attitude. Losing control of my consistensy. I cycle of bad food choices, skipping workouts, with regret and guilt.

After sushi, I was completely satisfied, but no….Driving home I suddenly couldn’t stop picturing a big ol’ bowl of sugary cereal. I was being sooooo good, even asking for absolutely no rice with my sushi. It all went downhill from there. LOL. As soon as I finished  not one, but TWO big bowls of corn flakes with bananas, I just said to myself…”holy carb-o-load lady”. I accepted the defeat and freakin moved on! This was my demise….

 and apparently eating in the dark like a creep. wow
