Better late that never, eh!? Hope everyone enjoyed a beautiful, sunny in LA, weekend!;) I certainly did. If you don’t know me by now, my “after weekend” posts usually include a sunday fam BBQ day, and what kind of person would I be, of I didn’t post every one of those special Sunday’s pics. To most of you, they look the same as every past Sunday’s, but to me, it’s about catching up, enjoying my folks, their backyard, the dogs running around like psychos, mom and I spending too much money bargain shopping, trying to convince dad to build me something ” rustic, yet contemporary” ( I need a new desk) LOL, oh and the best part…. Stuffing my face with red meat, chorizo, and blood sausage. It’s my once a week VICE.

Here are some highlights;)
New favorite POWER protein Breakfast:
1/2 cup egg whites
1/2 mashed ripe banana
A few drops vanilla extract
1 tbsp raw nut butter
1 tsp flax meal or flax seeds
1 tsp unsweetened shredded coconut.
I know sweet eggs!?

SNACKS:

Best damn kale chips around y’all. Brad’s RAW Foods offers kale chips that are packed with the best flavor. I’ve tried loads of different brands and these by far are the crunchiest, and healthiest:)
Find them at whole foods, or online.

Btw, sorry I’ve been neglecting fitness pics, but…thing is, I’ve been so focused on my ZUMBA training, that I haven’t really had the time to do any other kind of workout lately. I get certified this week!!! ahhhhhh So I thought I’d let you know….I’ve been doing ZUMBA 4 days a wk. oh, and in between, practicing at home or with my headphones at work in while dancing like a freak in the staff room. Yes, I am the only one hearing the music, so everyone’s like WTF is she doing. Lol.

Anyway, now that I’ve confessed the fact that I haven’t been at the actual GYM, we can move forward with this post of mostly food;) hehe.

Sunday BBQ prep. Salad with cilantro, green onions, tomatoes, lemon, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and oregano.
About to sautée some brussel sprouts.
And cook up some sweet potato as mom and I’s carb of choice.

Dad is always in charge of the BBQ. Today, we’ve got steaks, blood sausage, and Argentinian style chorizo. Sooooo bomb!

Mom likes to serve ciabatta bread in 3’s. As if anyone but my dad is gonna eat any. No thanks. Once I ” break the seal” ( the, I’m not having any bread, seal) it’s all over. Carb-o-binge like its goin outta style. Not cute, and “Ain’t nobody got time for dat!”

We also shared a really great bottle wine. Then, we decided to go shopping. This is probably how I managed to spend way too much money “bargain shopping.” Two cart’s full of stuff, does kinda cancel out the fact that you’re getting a good price. NOTE: avoid shopping and drinking. I won’t bore you with what I bought, or what I spent;) lol, but…I will share my dessert with you!

CARROT ZUCHINNI PROTEIN CAKE that I recently shared on my Facebook page. It’s a recipe created by one of my favorite protein bakers! My homegirl over at Proteinpow.com I hadn’t had a chance to make it yet, so mom surprised me:)

I must say….. It is perfection. not too sweet, not at all “veggie” tasting, and it’s virtually GUILT-FREE. Cake & coffee, precisely what I needed after spending too much dough. I swear, give me cake, and I don’t give a shit about anything else. Hahaha.

Favorite fruit of the moment:
PINEAPPLE. Seriously addicting . Although delicious, watch out…it’s full of sugar. Indulge in small portions;)

RECIPE ALERT!!!
Have you ever gone to M Cafe???
Well, if you haven’t had the pleasure yet, I highly recommend it. Granted, there are some things, I’m not such a big fan of, but there is one dish in particular that I’ve completely fallen head over heels in love with. M cafe caters to a healthy macrobiotic diet/lifestyle. I searched high and low to bring you the best version of M cafe’s KALE SALAD WITH SPICY PEANUT DRESSING.
his is huge news….. You’re gonna freak out, and yes, you will thank me. Kale can sometimes get a bit boring, so this recipe really spruces up your relationship with it.
Nothing boring about this bad boy.

The original recipe calls for regular ol’ natural peanut butter, but I thought I’d switch it out for a less fattening option….my trusted PB2 will do just perfect. ( scroll to the right, click on specialty foods, and scroll through the pages, you will find pb2 on my amazon faves!)
I’ve attached a print- friendly recipe for you to grab. I made this so quick, oh, and I ate it just as quickly;) it’s super easy!
1. Blanch the kale
2. Sautée shallots, onion, garlic
3. Make your spicy peanut dressing.
4. Combine, garnish, and serve;)

“M Cafe” Kale Salad with Spicy Peanut Dressing
Obsessing over M CAFE’s Kale salad…..naturally….I HAD to make it! Delicious, with a kick, and outrageously healthy;)
Ingredients
  • 1 large bunch kale (about 3-4 cups)
  • ¼ red onion, sliced very thin
  • 1 shallot
  • ½ tsp high heat oil. (I used safflower oil)
  • Spicy Peanut Dressing
  • ½ cup PB2 (1/2 cup when mixed with water) Or natural peanut butter, but will raise the fat content
  • 1 Tbsp Nature’s Hollow honey
 (sugar free)
  • 2 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp. garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp. ginger, minced
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ oz hot water
Instructions
  1. 1. Remove the kale from the stems. 
Add a pinch of Salt to a pot of boiling water, then blanch the Kale for 3 min. 
Remove the Kale from the boiling water and shock it in a container of ice water. 
Finally, squeeze the excess water out of the cooled Kale.
  2. Sautee onions and shallots with a bit of salt and pepper and ½ tsp oil until softened. Set aside.
  3. Spicy Peanut Dressing: Place all dressing ingredients into a blender. Blend until mixture turns into a smooth consistency.
  4. Drizzle the dressing on top of the Kale and onions, and mix the kale and dressing together until kale is evenly coated. Garnish chopped peanuts.
  5. *Makes enough to dress 2 large bunches of kale. Stores well refrigerated for up to 6 weeks.
Notes
Note: I used PB2 to cut down on the fat, but you can certainly use all natural peanut butter.

4 days till Easter…and I’ve already got on my Easter Sunday colors! Baby blue and whited checkered blouse and purple pants! Lol.

Kyodan NO SLIP headband! New obsession, especially now that I’ve got these damn bangs I got to get outta my face! Ugh. No more having to bobby pin them back. This headband doesn’t budge through my whole 1 hour ZUMBA session, and trust me, I whip my hair back n’ forth like it’s goin’ outta style!

Finally a new bed! Fresh protein and my WOD;)

Hello my lovelies! How was everyone’s Sunday?? I can’t tell you how excited I am for today to be here! Guess what…..? You know how I’ve been little by little redecorating and arranging my upstairs? Well, the best, well, first piece of new furniture is coming today! Wooooohooooo. My gorgeous new bed! Ahhhhhh. Ok, we’ll go into that in a bit… First, I wanna share I little morning joy with y’all… Lately, I’ve been loving eating protein cake in the morning, total gymrat food. You know how I love my sweets, but can’t consume real chocolate cake on a regular for breakfast ( I’d be a house), so this does the job for me;)

CHOCOLATE LAVA PROTEIN CAKE
(Adapted from @tastyhealth)

2 scoop chocolate About Time protein

1 tbsp cocoa

2 egg white 1 tsp baking powder

4 tsp coconut flour

2 tbsp greek yogurt

1 1/2 tbsp stevia (granulated)

6 tbsp  unsweetened vanilla almond milk

These are her exact DIRECTIONS:

Mix everything and put in a mug/bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and put in the microwave for 45 sec up to 1.5 min depending on how runny you want it. Don’t overcook though! You might have to stop after 45 sec and then go in 10 sec intervals to prevent it from overflowing

This was awesome! This microwave method cooks thing very fast, so please be mindful of over cooking, as it can become very dry. It took me a couple tries to perfect it.:)

I whipped up some vanilla topping with:

2 tbsp 0% Greek yogurt
2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk. ( I use this ishhhh for everything)
Couple drops vanilla extract
4 drops stevia
And sprinkled with unsweetened cacao powder.

Listen, is honestly EASY.

My parents were coming over at 10:30 am to come help with the bedroom, so I had to dash to gym ASAP.
I took my liquid L CARNITINE
Filled my blender bottle with three scoops of MRM bacc+ g and filled with water.

Sad I wasn’t able to make it to my Sunday yoga flow class at Rising Lotus, but….my workout was SICK! I was in the mode today. Not too busy at the gym this morning, so no waits for any machines. Stoked.

Here was the circuit:

30 minutely treadmill.
Here’s the breakdown:
0-3 min- warm up walk @ 3.8
Then run 2.5 miles @ 6.7
Then 1 mile intervals of 10.0 for 30 seconds> 30 seconds rest.

Total 3.5 miles.

NEXT-
15 minutes on stepper (stair master) on FAT BURNER MODE> LEVEL 7

THAT WAS A KILLER 45 MINUTE CARDIO SESH!

Strength training included:

3 x 10 reps dead lift with 50 lb bar
3 x 10 reps back row
3 x 12 reps lower back raises holding a 10 lb weight
3 x 10 reps hanging knee lifts
15 leg raises (laying down)
25 crunches (knees at tabletop)
15 stability ball crunches
1 min plank

I packet About Time vanilla protein

5 drops stevia

2 tbsp 0% Greek yogurt

1/2 cup frozen blackberries

1/2 cup frozen chopped kale ( trader joes)

1/2 cup water

Couple drops vanilla extract

1 tsp bee pollen

1 probiotic pill ( opened and added to blender)

Threw it all in my vitamix, and topped with a sprinkle of chia seeds. Sooooo delicious!

Yeayyyyyy! Ok so the time has come! Mom and dad came to the rescue! Love that my folks are close by, and that dad loves “projects”!
So, my little full size bed will be outta here and donated to a great friend who’s moving down the street. Glad it’s going to a good home:) aweeeeeeee! I’ve had this frame since like 19 years old. Omg. Byeeeeeeee lil baby! It’s been a good 11 years with ya. Time to upgrade….

Willy’s already posted up…. I’ve missed this little boooger! He’s been with my folks all week, cuz I was super busy, annndddddd I needed a break, he was driving me crazy with his anxiety! I’m glad he’s home:) tomorrow, I’m actually looking into doggy daycare, for the days the dog walker doesn’t come during the workweek. I’m thinking he needs to socialize with other dogs more.

Dad puttin in WERRRRK! Oh, btw… Did I mention that I have yet to receive my new mattress? ….yeah. I’ll be sleeping on the couch till Sunday. Sexy.

I also bought some side tables, which I will be returning…. Changed my mind. Ugh that happens wayyyy to often. Saw some realllllly cute, rustic ones at urban home, so we’ll see.

Time to break for lunch! All that hard work I put in, has got me hungry! Lol. ( thanks ma & pa) we went to a local restaurant and had some delicious food! Mom and I shared stuffed mushrooms, a salmon Niçoise salad ( a couple pieces of French bread;) and shared a flour less chocolate cake for dessert. Woooowwwwwsa. Naughty but not that naughty;)

I went to San Francisco in October, and purchased this awesome photograph and didn’t get it framed till December, and waited even longer to hang it up. Finally! Isn’t it awesome;) Even though I can’t show you the finished upstairs…. Downstairs isn’t lookin too shabby:)

Oh and BTW U.S. government…. Thanks for sending me my new ID & passport with the MOST hideous pictures of myself I have ever seen. Just recieved them in the mail. Sooo f%*king pissed! Lol

Gloomy Gorgeous Sunday

My favorite day of the week….SUNDAY.
Last night was my first experience at Supercross. It was nothing like I have ever experienced. It actually was super cool, and although I was in and out of passing out, (exhausted from a full day of clients) but non the less, very exciting, different evening:)

My body decided to sleep in till 7 am this morning. I know, weird. I had to head over to the parental unit’s house today to pick up willy, and of course to hang with the folks & BBQ:) not too much planned for today,precisely why I love Sundays…it’s a free for all. I started off with my ritual cup of espresso and almond milk, so creative…lol.

As I looked in my fridge looking for what I should stuff in my Vitamix, I realized I had absolutely nothing! No kale, no chard, No NOthin.
So even though the forecast called for rain, I took my cozy lil ass on to the farmers market.
Turned out to be a gorgeous morning, with a few rays is sunshine.

Hiiiiiiiiii, yes, I stocked up. Homegurrrrl went nuts.
I never go there with a list, obviously. Too many goods to limit myself, so I watch myself by only bringing 2 recyclable bags with me.

I came home with some beautiful fruits and veggies.
– rainbow chard
– kale
– cauliflower
– broccoli
– Fuji apples
– persimmons( last batch of the season)
– onions
– carrots
– green onions
– cilantro
– ginger
– sweet potato
– Japanese cabbage
– crimson grapes

All organic, and at very great prices.

Check out these sweet carrots. These would be perfect as a side dish. They are stunning in flyover and color.

Really, the main reason why I rushed to the farmer’s so early, was because I wanted to make a green protein smoothie. So as soon as I got home and organized…. I made my tummy happy.

I did a little something different this time.

I added pinches of:
Tumeric: a natural anti inflammatory
Cayenne: speeds up metabolism, lowers blood pressure, and helps circulation.
Ginger: aids in gastrointestinal issues
A small persimmon

A bit funny, but really good.

While shopping around, I came across this great little antique/vintage shop that carried soooooo many amazing things! I wanted to go home with everything!
I dropped my grocery bags and practically ran toward these fab items.

And a great dish with silverware, which I thought would be great for some food shots!

Today, was a very special day…. I finally cleaned, and organized my fridge. I would of shown you a before pic, but it was just too embarrassing. I mean, it’s not like it was a hoarder pig fridge or anything, it just was a mess. Like a MESS.
so she she is, all pretty, and clean.

It’s amazing how much more you can fit in there, once you throw out all the weird, random shit you don’t need.
I didn’t need 5 different kinds of mustard. Really.

I promise, it’ll help you and encourage you to eat better and cleaner:)

After my Sunday shopping, I headed to sunday ZUMBA and got my dance on:) I had naughty foods last night so I figured, he’ll, lets burn some of that shit off. After class, sweaty n all, I headed over to the folks house, and got ready for a meat-eaters lunch…

Argentinian ribs, chorizo, and salad with chimichurri. The bomb.com.

The rents. The cutest. We love our Sunday bbq’s. Dad’s a master on the grill btw.

I get so hungry after I workout. Protein galore.

We were gonna go see Les Miserables, but, when I saw it was almost 3 hrs long…. I changed my mind. I probably would’ve passed out in the theater. That’s just too long to be sitting in there, I’m sorry.

Dinner was some local Thai food. I literally haven’t eaten Thai since I was actually in Thailand, which was in April. Ridiculous. My craving was gnarly, so I dragged mom, who had never tried Thai food, to a great little spot in town. It was delicious.

Now, in a food coma, it’s time for my bed. Up early mañana for a hike with my girl, Jules.
7:30 a.m to be precise.

WeDneSdaY B-day Shoutout

Happy wednesday folks!

Officially 4 days till the Spartan Race. I’m not in the salon till 10.00 a.m. so, I woke up at 6, drove straight to gym.I recieved this email from from my online Spartan trainer, and  this workout is gonna kick my ass! I won’t be doing my WOD on thurs (tomorrow) because I’ve got Zumba class. I just honestly don’t want to risk being any kind of sore or tight anywhere on my body before sunday.So no heavy lifting. Last time a trained for a race, I ran 6 miles the day before and somehow strained my achilles. So pissed. Dumb status. Not doing that this time. I really think it’s important to give your body a rest and allow your muscles time to recover. So this morning will be the last of the WOD.  What an EXPERIENCE!

I swear after sunday I’m only doing zumba and yoga for a whole week. That’ll be nice. Then back to adding in the strength training.

So….Ideally, for a hardcore session, 5 circuit sets should be done with the exercises back-to -back and minimal rest. If you like structure, a breakdown on a good use of rest is supplied at the end of the workout. Each set should be at least 12 reps of continuous motion. Rest in between exercises rather than between reps.

Ok, Lets go….

Before going for this circuit, make sure you have a bench press and some room close by with dumbbells ready. On average three to five revolutions should take no more than forty minutes, but internally strive for the best time possible. This workout is an obstacle course for the body itself. Watch your form people!

I was at the gym a total of 1 hour & 15 min. Notice all of the bending down I was doing…well…GUESS WHAT HAPPENED.

I wanted to die!!! Felt absolutely no drift! Apparently before throwing them in the hamper last week, I left them sweaty on the floor for a couple hours, and I don’t know if any of you girls out there who have dogs, have ever experienced this, BUT….yeah…Willy completely ate an EFFING hole in the crotch!!! ahhhhhhhhI never noticed, washed them, picked them up this morning out of the drawer, no clue, and did my whole workout with the freakin hole. It wasn’t till I was stretching, with my ass facing the mirror that I noticed. I ran out of there so damn fast. The guy at the front desk was like “Bye, thank you” I just kept my headphones in and RAN! I posted this on my instagram as soon as I got in the car.

I needed CARBS! (good carbs of course)

After work, I headed to Hollywood to meet up with a couple of girlfriends. We had planned for me to come and cut their hair, have a laugh, and enjoy a glass of wine. Laura (Gina Starr) a genius Dj, is always open for a super cool look. Her hair is like a violet, silver kind of color, which a co-worker of mine did. Looks amazing.I’ll post picks soon! Love cutting her hair. She always give me complete freedom to try new things. Gen, my other friend,client, and an amazing jewelry designer, also got a new super cool look. We cut her hair into a cute little A-line layered bob. She loved it. After we finished cutting, we finished our wine and I was ready to head home for some dinner. It was a long day. She surprised me with a little gift from her collection. Aren’t they fabulous? Her Etsy shop will be up soon, so be on the lookout! I’ll be supporting on my blog for sure. Her stuff is unique and feminine. Always with a bit of lace. A little vintage inspired too.

As soon as I got home, I took willy out, and headed inside for some yummy leftovers of almond crusted tilapia, spanish green beans, some roasted kabocha squash, and some sauteed spinach and zuchinni in garlic. It looks like my usual snacky plate. Lots of different flavors to get a perfect bite.

After dinner, I felt relaxed, put my PJ’son, and poured myself a glass of this wine. It was really good. Although I fell asleep working on the blog. On the couch of course, so I didn’t end up finishing it. Oh well, didn’t need the extra cals anyway…

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hi everyone!!! Happy Thanksgiving to all! Welcome to my favorite holiday and NO WORKING OUT today. I’m making up for it by working out tomorrow. Friday would usually be my day off. Switch. I don’t think I can say that we have a specific tradition in the Bedo household. Every year is different, but It’s always a great time!The only thing that is pretty consistent is that I end up being so stuffed every year, I swear I end up like a beached whale. No joke. This year, I broke the cycle. I definitely ate more than I would on a normal day, but managed to keep the binging under control. Thank goodness. It may have something to do with the fact that this year the party was pretty small, and we didn’t over do it with the amount of food and side dishes.

Let me re-cap you of what last year was like:

I did all the cooking , except desserts.(yes, for real. I wanted to say that I had hosted a huge thanksgiving feast once in my life)

I mean…..It was gnarly. I must admit, well worth it though> It turned out AMAZING!

This year, we kept it mellow and changed up the menu. It was just Mom, Dad and I and My uncle and his wife and their 4 month old baby girl, Emma. (freakin adorable).We were able to catch my brother on skype. He was crunching away in his lab. Not sure if I mentioned before, but, my brother is a genious, a neuroscientist, no big deal. I got sad seeing that he wasn’t celebrating and eating with all his friends, but he so kindly reminded me that “uh Paula, I live in Canada, I’ts not thanksgiving here fool” LOL. Such a dumb ass.

Anyway, So, early this a.m. (6:00) I drove to the parentals house. Usually Mom’s up ready to go with coffee made, but I guess she decided to sleep in, cuz when I walked in..Crickets. zzzzz

Mom had one of the protein muffins in the fridge so I muched on that and made some coffee.

I decided to get my crusts started, since Miss. Martha Stewart (in the thanksgiving issue) mentioned that I would have to do several rounds of refrigeration. Mom was gonna need the oven round 11:00 am. So , I began to make a mess in the kitchen as usual. I’m not one of those, clean as you go type. I wish I was.

The pie I chose out of the mag was the sour cream apple crumble pie, although I changed a few things.

I made the crust out of whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose
I used light sour cream
I did less of the strussel topping.

All in efforts to “healthify” my Thanksgiving.

Mom got up, got beautiful, (she wouldn’t let me photograph her in her pj’s) and got stated on her beef roast stuffed with pancetta. The bomb. Btw, It’s this beauty’s BIRTHDAY today, doesn’t she look 26?? Happy birthday mami!!

It was such a beautiful day out, that we decided to set the table in the backyard. Who want’s to be indoors on a day like this anyway?! I sat and read the rest of the new Living magazine and sipped on some kombucha. I love the gingerade flavor. I knew I would need some probiotics after this meal!

Look who arrived!!!! Uncle Manuel, Ingrid & Emma, this lil princess. She’s 4 months old.ahhhh, those cheeks. This day was so special, mostly because it was my first time meeting this sweet pea.

After I annoyingly squeezed her to death for an hour, we headed outside for some appetizer.

These are Mom’s homemade empanadas. Fried beef ones on the left, and baked spinach ones on the right. An Argentinian staple, and probably one of my all time to die for foods. I grew up on these. I could have easily taken down both these platters like I had never seen food before, but, I opted to just enjoy one of each and let the rest of the guests enjoy. My uncle is a wino, so he brought over a fabulous cabernet sauvignon from Mendoza, Arg.

This year our Thanksgiving had an Italian/Argentinian flare.

Real sweet potatoes (not yams)

And….some random cranberry sauce that Mom decided to whip up. It didn’t really end up pairing with anything but whatever. Gotta have something traditional.

We had the perfect amount of food. Nothing went wasted, and everything was delicious.

My pie was a success. I was a bit nervous because of the changes I had made to the recipe but thank goodness it all was good in the end. pretty huh?

The cake below was brought to work for me the day before by my fabulous baker friend, Jules Peres of Immaculate Confections. This is her famous vanilla bean rum cake. Ridiculous.

I made some last minute fresh vanilla whipped cream as mom made the teas and coffees.

Once that pie went down, it was pretty much food coma from there out. I enjoyed my coffee in front of this gorgeous fire. The Perfect way to end this perfect Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my health, my family and friends,and my Wilbur<3

My Favorite day of the week! I get going a little later on this day, and this is percisely why I love it. I sleep in, well, 6:00 a.m instead of 5:30 a.m….which feels like 2 extra hours of bliss.I think that fact that within that 30 minutes it goes from dark to light outside, makes a huge difference. Sundays usually consist of getting up and driving to the folks house from an early morning breakfast with Mom and Dad. I’ve got Mom on my clean eating plan and so far she’s lost 12 lbs. She’s been really great about the new lifestyle, although getting her on the workout bandwagon has been taking a little more time….mmmm-hhmmm. She’ll get it though;)

She’s learned about substitutions for flours and sugars. Also, taking the time to prepare bakes goods for the week in case she wants a “carb” fix. Sunday mornings, that’s all that sounds good. Coffee & pastries. (our style of course) Check out some of these low carb options!

After breakfast I had Mom capture the new ab series I’ve been working on. Abs are a pain in my ass! Click below for a great sunday morning ab series! I’ve started using my fab little gymboss tool. I stopped by late morning to my dear friend Natalie’s house (who’s in town from San Fran). Her family lives 5 minutes from mine. They had an event to go to , so I took my blow-dry equipment over to beautify Nat and her Mom. Nat’s brother, Raffi, is the mastermind behind my blog. After I did their hair, Raffi and I nerded out on our computers for a while. Love being over there, they are truly like a second family.

Before I left, I stopped in the kitchen and feasted my eyes on a huge fruit basket filled with persimmons! I DIE for them…and had no idea they had a persimmon tree in their backyard. SCORE! soooo stoked! They sent me home with bagfull of them. I got a few shots of the perfect little creatures because I just can’t get enough of em’. They are gorgeous. I like to just munch on them raw but you could also bake with them or throw chunks of them into a salad.

Now, this is what I love…..The BBQ in this house! We pretty much BBQ every weekend. Safe to say my parents are some of my bestest friends:) & living in Southern California, we have the luxury of spending lots of time outside. My folks live off the 14 fwy. It’s Pretty much the desert, so it’s always nice here. Any reason to grill up some marinated chicken, tri-tip, sausage, and salmon. My GOD…Simple, Not tons of seasonings and paired with a lemon/olive oil tossed green salad.

Most of the BBQing goes down right here…end we eat right off the Dad’s homemade tiki-bar. lol

After our late lunch, I had lots to do… including gym sesh. I dropped off willy at home and took off to el gimnasio . My training for the Spartan Race has been really challenging, but I like that. I’ve been told this type of training is really similar to crossfit. I’ve never taken crossfit but I know people who take it are no strangers to burpees, rowing, pull-ups, and body weight squats, and this training has all of that. I’ve been focusing on High Intensity intervals. A lot of stop/GOOOOOOOOO stop/GOOOOOOOO. I’m definitely seeing a difference in muscle tone and I’m feeling lighter on my feet. I gotta admit, you kinda feel like spartacus after.

I couldn’t loose track of time because I had a last minute celebration to tend to!

Chelsea + Omar tie the knot!<3

I showed up in my gym clothes, changed in two seconds, threw my hair up and ran outside with the rest of our friends and fam to watch lil Miss Chels and Omar exchange vows in a very intimate ceremony in the backyard. Couldn’t have been more perfect. We ate, drank and danced the night away. Best of luck to these two lovebirds. Omar leaves again for marine training and we are hoping he gets to stay In San Diego! eeeeeekkkk
