Happy Sunday lovelies!!!!

It is a mighty HOT one today! Up bright and early this A.M. And ready for a packed day:) first things first, COFFEE! Then, tidy up the house. The folks are stopping by today… After scarfing down 1/2 a quest bar and pounds of fresh cut watermelon, I headed to my favorite Sunday hotspot, the Farmer’s Market.

Went a lil kookoo:) Always buying more than I actually need. I’m back to juicing, so I made sure to lots of greens and fruits.

Best part about the Farmer’s, are the fresh flowers! Today, I picked up 4 bunches of beautiful dahlias. They’re literally in every room now…until, of course, I forget to change the water, and they all wilt. Lol. The worst, I am.

But aren’t they stunning! The color is outrageous! They don’t let off any kind of smell, but whatever. I’ve got plenty of candles:)

Oh, yes….there was a new lady in town selling her homemade RAW cashew cheese. I tried it, and of course had to buy it. It was delicious. I’ve always loved the raw lifestyle, and incorporate it into my day to day diet as much as possible. Although I don’t think I could ever be fully raw, like…everrrr, I like the idea of its principles sometimes:) part-time. Lol

Nary Dairy is produced by a husband/wife team out of the Chefs Center in Pasadena, offering the “The cream of the Non-Dairy crop” with plenty of delicious cashew cheese flavors to choose from. It’s seriously a nice alternative! Loving them!

I’ve been throwing in a small beet in my morning juices, so I bought a bunch this morning to stock up. Anyway, you know the green leaves coming out of the beet? Well, I used to always cut that bit off, and toss it. Wtf. I guess I just thought it was good for nothin’. Poor beet greens, so misunderstood:(

WellllllI….I finally found a way to not let any of it go to waste! And guess what!? It’s the bommmmbbbbbb!

Nutty Garlicky Sauteed Beet Greens

Today’s WOD was GPP FITNESS, Cardio Tababta.
Lets just say…it was gnarly. I did this at home before heading out for the day, and because I don’t have a row machine, I subbed that move for back rows with a theraband. Try this one out, it’s awesome! 8 rounds of each move for 20 sec work/ 10 sec rest.

If you don’t know what a move is. Don’t worry. On their site, you can click on the excessive, and it immediately takes you to YouTube, where everything is explained to you very quick and efficiently.
All of the above went down before 11:30 this A.M. Nonstop!
Time to relax:) Mom and Pop picked me up, and we headed to Santa Monica to celebrate this pretty’s 1st BIRTHDAY!!!!! My baby cousin Emma:) she’s perfect!

We took Wilbur, and all hung out at the park. Everyone was out. Love it. We BBQed and enjoyed fun and laughs. Um, I ate a lot today, oh, and I had cake. There! Lol. ( Making up for it tomorrow)
Aunt to the left…Mom to the right.
This is what I’ve got to say to today!

So, as you know, I’ve been dying to set up a home office upstairs since I moved here, and I’ve finally set er’ up! How bout that desk!
I am sooooo stoked! Well, really, it’s a dining table converted to a desk;) lol. Coming along ladies! Such an organized lady now, I mean…..

Completely consumed with summer scents lately. My new Archipelago pine-apple candle is unreal! So fresh and sweet, I wanna eat it up. So here’s a tip…I purchased this one, along with many others on Have you heard of it!? It’s an amazing site constantly offering amazing discounts on named brand stuff. They always, I mean, ALWAYS have fantastic prices on candles. So, when I see a sale going on…I loose my shit, and buy like 6 candles at a time. Usually about 50% off.

It’s mostly heated yoga, but offer non heated as well, and have amazing hours. I’m takin’ from 6:00 am to 9:00 p.m. I’ve been going probably 3 times a week, and feel incredible.
As a new student, they offer 1 week free as a trail. :)
Ok, sooooo….I was supposed to quit my addiction to sugar free gum….but I decided to quit quitting…. ;)
I died and went to heaven when I saw this new flavor at target. Saw it…bought it…chewed it…loved it. The struggle is real.
Ahhhh, well that does it. As my fab Sunday comes to an end…. I now am headed to get an hour massage at Foot Inspiration, and then back home to start thinking up some new Zumba routines for my babes!

In At home cooking, decor galore, family, friends, PARTY TIME, Sunday funday, Uncategorized On June 1, 2013 3 Comments

Hello my lovely ladies!
Today’s post is near and dear to my heart. I love to throw a good party. Better yet, I GREAT bridal shower. Of course, this couldn’t have been done without my beautiful, fabulous friends! You see, we LOVE throwing parties, and yes….sometimes can be stressful, but in the end…totally worth it;)
On this gorgeous, sunny day, we celebrated the upcoming nuptials of our bestie Brooke with friends and family. We pulled it off with no stress, great attention to detail, and loads fun!

Admit it, we’ve all been to some super annoying showers, haven’t we? Today I’m here to share with you the FANTASTIC DO’s and DON’Ts guide to THROWING A GREAT BRIDAL SHOWER!

Typically….the braidsmaids;)

The most important part of beginning the planning process, is writing a list of what needs to be done (in great detail), and start delegating jobs to each one of you.

The key:

No one does more than the other. Equal spending, etc, will ensure everyone’s happiness. lol. NO STRESS= STOKED FRIENDS.

Have a pow wow, a girls night. Make a fun day or evening out of planning.

Remember babes, it’s supposed to be fun, and most importantly…NOT about you. It’s about that beautiful bride:)

I give you….MY BEST FREINDS:

The BEST of party planners.

Pay attention to detail. This is what makes these kinds of events unforgettable. Perhaps, it be that you get the brides favorite flowers, or maybe you match the party to the wedding theme. Even something as simple as a personalized chalk heart on a fence, can make the world of a difference. Especially, in a photo, which she and yourself will have forever.

Fill the damn place up with hideous silver lined balloons screaming “CONGRATULATIONS!” All over the place. Tacky, and completely NOT personalized.

This is a party ya’ll, so please DO offer appetizers, snacky foods, etc.

Beautiful fresh flower centerpieces. Hit the flower mart on a sunday for great deals. Arrange them yourself, you’ve got style, and you’re not lazy, so…Show us you’ve got the touch;)

Buy the pre-packaged, BRIGHT ass, Ralph’s version of “a BEAUTIFUL arrangement” for $14.99. Save that for Gram’s bday. k…..

This is a party ya’ll, so please DO offer appetizers, snacky foods, etc.

People don’t like standing around with nothing to do…

A little EXTRA decor seals the deal.

We found this at PAPER SOURCE. Create whatever saying you want, all you gotta do is arrange the letters. EASY PEAZZZY.

If you can pull off an INDOOR/OUTDOOR party, GO FOR IT. Not necessary, but a nice alternative.

Maybe MOST importantly, next to the food of course….

Offer a signature drink for the special event.

We are in LA, in June….it’s warm out….Give us some SANGRIA, CHAMPAGNE, and WHITE WINE SPRITZERS.

Get peeps wasted on vodka tonics. Its not a club, or your 21st birthday. Mom and G-ma gotta drive home.

Oh & not cute.

This is NOT a free for all people… The truth is, the more organized you are, the more people can enjoy themselves & the less feaked out you are by all the stuff you gotta do at once.

Create a menu. A SIMPLE ONE.

We got this awesome chalkboard at the local Marshall’s for $12.99. Adds such a great touch, and allows for for people to know that there is food coming. This way…they don’t scarf down all the chips thinking that might be the only thing their gettin’. Could you imagine…”Oh,, I’m sorry, were you hungry? We were just thinking chips and salsa were enough” ummmmmmm

RUN OUT OF FOOD!!!! Better to have extra for yourself later than have the embarrassment of exposing your LACK OF preparedness.

Make sure your menu is balanced in nutrition. No one, I mean NO ONE, wants to feel like a beached whale at a party. In other words, keep it classy and proportioned, if you know what I mean. This isn’t your cheat meal. OK.

Having dessert options makes people happy. We like to snack. On several things, that is;)

* Not everyone likes the same thing.

Create a SWEET atmosphere for your Dessert table. SET THE SCENE. If it looks good, people want to eat it.

Try individual portions. Much cuter, and easier to to munch on as you’re walking around mingling.

On our dessert table:

Made by yours truly.

(because we’re all on LOW CARB)

Sugar Free Cheesecake Rounds.

Paleo Sugar Free Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

Force feed people messy chunks of sugary, marzipan cake. They will enjoy dessert when they want to enjoy it. Hense…dessert table. Get it, when you feel like it. Again, it’s about creating fluidity in the party. Make life easy for your guests.

No one wants to leave a party empty handed.

If you can pull off a simple, personalized, and affordable party favor, DO IT!!!!!!

Nothing says, “Thank you for coming” more than a party favor. It shows GREAT attention to detail, and can really spruce up your dessert table. In our case, Alicia had a genius idea of cute little mason jars, filled with delicious caramels in which she attached a thoughtful saying on each one of them. Adorable, and simple. THE KEY.

Put the faces of the bride and groom on your party favors. Yes, we love them, But we don’t want that shit. If I had a quarter for every engraved or screenprinted wedding or bridal shower favor I recieved, I’d be a rich bitch. Give us something we can eat or actually use, otherwise, you know we’ll just hoard it, and never see it again.

Ok, I KNOW I am NOT the only one who thinks this so, here I go….

A game or two is fun…….

3 or more…..too much.

We are not trying to spend an hour & 1/2 playing games ya’ll!

This is the best game….and the bride actually gains something from it!

It’s simple…

Everyone brings with them a pair of panties that shows your personality. She, then has to match the undies to the friend. If she misses…she drinks. (or stuff a marshmallow in her mouth, each time she misses. lol) Either way…in the end…she comes up on loads of panties. STOKED.

Allow for things to happen organically. If you put games near the gifts, that’s where you go next. Hand the Bride-to -be her champagne, and let the unwrapping begin.

Making the bride read out every single card she receives, and forcing her to pose with her new swiffer wetjet and new set of china. Snag a few good shots, and call it a day. Remember, all eyes are on her, it can be a bit uncomfortable. lol.

This next portion was the highlight!

Pull off an impromptu backyard photoshoot with friends and bridesmaids. I don’t mean…hire someone, get lighting, make a big deal, I mean this…

Gather the flowers from the centerpieces…get in the sun…and get your mom on a chair to shoot the pic. DUH! ;)

pssst…you can photoshop later.

Just when you think you all couldn’t look cheesier…THAT’S when you get it right.

When else would we get these fun shots??…On the wedding day.. I think not.

Great….NOW, It’s time to have fun and enjoy your party:)

This post is dedicated to the bride, Brooke Barnett & to my AMAZING girlfriends.

Oops I did it again….BBQ.EATS.TARGET. My Sunday recap<3

In abs, bedroom, circuit, decor galore, popular recipes, Sunday funday, sweets, Uncategorized, WOD On February 12, 2013 0 Comments

Ahhhhh, Sunday finally!!!!

Not too much to report today y’all, except lots of EATS! Oh, and andddddd a bit of working out. Actually, my favorite days to workout, are my weekends. I’m not rushed, feel more relaxed, and get a better workout because of it.
Ohhh, that’s right, it’s GRAMMY night tonight, huh? Shit, I kinda forgot. Yes, I will be on the couch for tonight’s event.

I slept in till 7:00 a.m. today, and it felt fantastic:) remember, I started doing yoga once a week? Well, today is the day. I’m loving doing this hour and 1/2 class on Sunday morning. Class was at 9, but I wanted to hit the gym before hand for a good cardio and AB sesh.

So, 7:30 came, and I pumped myself up with some RIRI AND JT, ( for those of you who are looking at that, like, ummmm. RIRI=Rhianna and JT= Justin Timberlake.) and headed to the gym.
I get there……CLOSED!!!!
I could kill. WTF.
Ugh, so I drove to god knows where to find the next freakin LA Fitness.
Gt there, and immediately jumped onto the elliptical and started my circuit.
At this point, I didn’t have much time, so I had to make the most out of 45 minutes.

30 minute intervals.

Alternating :

Resistance 5 and incline 9 for 2 minutes

Resistance 10 and incline 5 for 3 minutes

Kept alternating at a quick speed to get the heart rate up for the whole 30.
I was having a bit of a hip issue, so I wasn’t into running today, but the elliptical suited me just fine, easier on the body I think.

For the following 15 minutes, I worked on abs.

25 crunches on stability ball

15 leg lifts

15 military sit-ups with a 10 lb dumbbell

50 bicycles

15 leg lifts

Yoga today was spectacular! I felt strong and focused. This particular class is a Hatha yoga class. Today, I worked on my breathing and really getting deeper into each pose. Loved it. I was super energized after class, so I went straight home, picked up willy, who of course was having his daily panic attack as soon as I walked thought the door, and drove to the folks house for fam bam time;)

A lil Sunday SELFIE:)
I’m straying trying to decide if I’m feeling my new 70′s fringe look. The only thing about bangs, is that they get annoying! and greasy when I get hot. Hmmm, we’ll see how long they last. Lol

Since I’ve been following targetdoesitagain on instagram, I’ve gone absolutely MAD for target shopping. Trust me, this girl’s got a target red card! ohhh yessss. That’s wazzzzzup!
And since I’ve been playing decorator in my upstairs bedroom, I decided it was time to start laying the pallets down for the new look. I don’t even know what the hell I bought, but I’m so into it. Maybe I should have waited until I had the most important things girls, I.e. a new bed, office, art, dressers, you know….just THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS! whatever, sometimes the smaller things like, side tables, pillows, vases, and lamps help me to discover and inspire a look.

I swear I could spend all day in that effing place. $400 later. Byeeeeeeee

As you know, Sundays are BBQ day at this household. All I have to say is….thank god I worked out for 2 1/2 hours, cuz, i mean…. Homegirl ate some food. It was absolutely beautiful outside, as are most days in sunny Cali, so, we opted for a tiki bar lunch. We literally eat off of beautiful wooden planks of wood. I mean….. We’re just reallllly rustic;)

Dad cooked up a MEAN ASS BBQ! this is the way us Argentinians do it, simple. This was done literally with no added stuff other than salt, and lemon.

Chicken drumsticks, Argentinian chorizo, and mollejas ( sweetbreads) my favorite. No red meat today. I’m telling you I dream of Sunday BBQ with the folks. It’s sooo bomb.

The sweetbreads and chorizo tend to be on the fattier side, so I didn’t eat the skin on the chicken. Trying to balance out…hmmmm lol. My logic sometimes is distorted.

No carbs with this meal, just pure protein and fats. Mom made a simple salad, with red onions, and tomatoes, dressed with olive oil, lemon, salt & pepper.

And as a side: marinated in olive oil and vinegar, pickled eggplant. Omg soooo good. I had just a couple tablespoons of that.

Btw….ummm, I ate more than what you see on this plate. Lol. Like, a lot more;)

So I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am COMPLETELY obsessed with anything lemon! Like, my binge food, other than fries, may just be lemon meringue pie. I swear, I die over that shizzzzzzle. So mom, bless her, as she is on the same diet plan, made us a gluten free, low carb, LEMON COCONUT CAKE to enjoy for dessert. Aweeeeeee. Adorbs.
I must share Mom’s recipe with y’all! It was divine!

3/4 cup coconut flour

1/2 cup xylitol or erythritol ( or if using stevia, 1/4 cup granulated/ liquid stevia, 20 drops.)

1 cup shredded coconut

1 tbsp freshly grated lemon zest

4 eggs

1/3 cup fresher squeezed lemon juice

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk ( vanilla flavor is fine)

3 tbsp of butter ( if you think about it, 3 tbsp is not a lot, considering it makes a whole cake)

Merengue topping:

2 egg whites

2 tbsp of xylitol or erythritol ( you can find all of these sugar subs online or at who,e foods if you’ve got one near you.)

For cake:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Then add all wet ingredients and blend or beat until all combined really well.
Grease a baking dish and place batter inside. Cook for 30 minutes.

For merengue topping:

Beat egg whites and xylitol ( or whatever sugar sub you decided to go with. ( remember, stevia is the sweetest) until they form stiff peaks. It may take 7-10 min or so sometimes. Be patient, well worth it.

Once cake is out of the oven, ( insert toothpick though the center to unsure doneness) spread merengue topping over, and stick under broiler for just literally 1 minute. You really just want to brown the top, not burn. Very important to keep watch at this point.

And that’s all folks. It was so delicious. The best part was, that it didn’t leave me feeling bloated, and guilty. It was made with all ingredients that I could eat. Thanks MAMI!!!!

I ate mine plain, but I topped Dad’s piece with a bit of honey, walnuts, and raspberries. He was feeeeeeeking it! And he doesn’t eat anything that we call “health food” so, you know what that means!

Ok, get ready for another recipe. I just couldn’t leave you without sharing this amazing dinner I made the other day. I posted it on instagram, and it received a standing ovation;) this one is going in the books y’all. I was texting back and forth with a friend the night before, while he was trying to decide what to make for dinner, and chicken pot pie was the winner. In that moment, I had the ultimate craving. But, how to make it low-carb, that was the question!?

Ohhhh hell yessss! I totally succeeded!

For filling:

1/2-1 tsp coconut oil or safflower oil

1/2 a med/lrg chopped onion

1/2 a large leek sliced

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 handfuls of either kale, spinach, collard greens,I used Swiss chard.

2 slices of nitrate free turkey bacon ( Trader Joe’s has great options)

2 cloves of garlic

1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tsp coconut flour (to thicken)

Salt & pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder

For the no-carb” flaky crust”:

1 tbsp coconut flour

1 tbsp ” chipotle” flavor nutritional yeast

1 egg

1 tsp water

For the sauce

1/4 cup unsweetened almond or flax milk.

1 tsp ghee ( clarified butter) or any all natural butter you want.

1 tbsp Parmesan

Sautée first on med heat: onions, leeks, mushrooms, salt & pepper in a tsp of coconut oil for 5 minutes while stirring. Add greens and turkey bacon. Lastly add garlic powder and fresh garlic. Sautée another 10- 15 minutes. Set aside.

While that’s cooking, make your ” crust”.
Spray a pan with smart balance spray or organic coconut oil spray and turn heat to med. In a small bowl, mix coconut flour with nutritional yeast. Add the egg and water and mix well, removing all lumps.
Spread out evenly in pan like a big pancake. It cooks very fast so be quick on the flip.

Using the same pan as the sautéed veggies and bacon you’re gonna add almond or flax milk, butter, and Parmesan. Bring to a quick boil, and simmer while stirring. All we want here, is for it to thicken up, once we achieve that, ( 5-6 minutes). We will turn off and begin the plating.

Using a circular tall cutout ( almost like a taller circle cookie cutter) I cut out two circles from the pancake. One for top and one for bottom. I placed one at the bottom of the cutout, and filled the inside with my stuffing, then placed the top circle over everything. Lifting the cutout, while pushing down a bit, as to not accidentally lift everything up.

Pour the sauce over and enjoy! This recipe will suit 2 people and I promise you will loveeeeee!

Ok, so as I shared earlier….I went a little nutzo at target this weekend and wanted to share some of my finds!! I know you all wish you could live at Target, like me, soooo I thought I would bring a little Target to you;) ok, so….confession time:

I’m not showing you all that I bought there, but most. I just got tired of taking pics of stuff. Lol, oh and, I almost forgot….I hit up T.j MAXX on the way home, and did a bit of damage there too…… Not too much though;)

Ok first thing: a TJ MAXX find.
Gorgeous Christian Lacroix postcards. S cute, and some of them even have a bit of red velvet on them. Soooo fancy hunnnnayyyy. I’m ol’ school like that, I still love sending cards and postcards, I think we need people to get into this habit. Too much texting and emailing, no!?
Anyway, I thought they were fun and pretty.

So, as you know, I’ve been struggling to get the upstairs going with the “new look” and today, it started alllll coming together. I purchased a new bed. ( which will be a surprise, until the big remodel reveal) and now I’ve got some great accessories to go:)

This great woven picture frame! Rustic yet contemporary.

A simple black and off white bar that will most likely be for my desk. This piece goes with everything.

The my favorite piece: this beautiful wooden bowl, with blue accents. Stunning.

It’s all about teal! well, subdued turquoise. This fabulous vale is from Target, and the planter n’ cake holder from TJ MAXX.

This piece can really go anywhere in my house, but I bought it for the office. I like to have a designated mail pile. That is what’s gonna happen here. Mail pile on silver. I’m feeling it.

Last exciting find I’m gonna share with y’all, are these bad boys! Beautiful and actually comfortable wedges. So cute for work, and summertimeeeeeee! Lovin the double color.
What are some of your favorite stores to splurge at??
I neeeed to know! ;)
Hope you guys had a fabulous weekend! Thanks again for following me and my life, I really love to hear from you guys so that I can better improve the style of the blog, so please, please, let’s keep in touch! Love uuuuuu

Tuesday Things and Workouts…

In Christmas, decor galore, protein shakes, Uncategorized, WOD On December 4, 2012 0 Comments

Good day babes! Today I felt back on track with my training. I put on my CEP ankle compression brace, I grabbed my gymboss and hit the gym really early.

I started off on the treadmill:
4 minute warmup
walk mile 1 at 6.4
Mile 2 at 7.1
Moved over to the eliptical for:
3 miles with Intervals of :
incline 5/ resistance 6
to 10 incline/ 10 resistance
It alternated every two minutes.
That HIIT workout got my heart rate up that’s for sure!
I moved into the aerobic room and was ready to start my rounds.
I put my gymboss on 50 sec work/ 20 sec rest
  •  jumping jacks
  • push-ups to plank
  •  Sit ups on stability ball
  •  alternating lunges with bicep curl using 12 lb weights
  •  plank on elbows
  •  Mountain climbers
  •  bicycle crunches
  •  vertical leg lifts
  •  Jumping jacks
I recently bought this awesome PUMA
top. The sleeves snap on and off, which is great for this on and off weather we’ve been having. It’s really comfortable and light, so I didn’t feel suffocated. Love it!
Super cool look too! I kinda felt like a ninja. lol

When I got home I went straight to the kitchen to make a yummy protein smoothie. This one was made up of:
  • my favorite 30 gram per scoop vanilla protein
  • 1/2 a banana
  •  1/2 cup unsweetened flax milk
  •  1/2 cup of water
  •  2 tbsp low fat cottage cheese
  •  1 tbsp PB2
  •  vanilla bean paste ( or extract)
  •  1 tbsp sugar-free vanilla syrup

Feeling good after that, I took some time to work on the blog, hang out with Willy and take my time getting ready. I love my mornings. I wake up early to get the most out of my day. Some people think I’m nuts. Sometimes going to bed early and in my gym clothes (yes, it’s true), but whatever, I get stuff done and it feels great.

With the holidays around the corner, I’ve been receiving all kinds of little coupons, which doesn’t seem like much, but you know what, it’s money, and every bit counts. Especially during a time when you are spending quite a bit of money pretty much the whole month. It’s nice to know we can actually save some money during that process. I sometimes take these for granted, but hey, they’re offering, so I’m taking!

I just realized a had a collection of em’ in my wallet:)

For snack and lunch I packed:

RAW crusts with organic ghee+ sugar free jam

A persimmon

A low fat string cheese

1/2 cup of blueberries

Leftover salmon over a salad

I’ve had kind of a late start with the decorations this year for some reason, but I finally busted most of them out to get my spirit goin. Problem with Christmas decor is that it can easily make a small space feel and look cluttered and that is a little annoying to me. Ew, I just sounded bitchy.

You know what I mean though. Right?

I must mention that these flowers have somehow survived 2 1/2 weeks! I swear, so weird, but I’m stoked! All I did was change out the water every 3-4 days.

My front door:) A little cheesy but I find it cute like in a grandma kinda way:) Mom sent me home with it a few years ago, so i felt like it had to go up. I think it’s grown on me. I  really want to start a better collection that I can really connect to, you know, like how your parents have ornaments and decorations that go back to when you were in kindergarden. Never made a difference if they were the most hideous looking object, they still make it onto the mantle. So funny

I can’t live without candles in my house. I especially love them when they create a holiday vibe in the air. I light them first thing in the morning (well, when I get back from the gym) while I get emails and posts ready, and every night while I’m cooking and enjoying a glass of red.

If you haven’t yet hit up Bath & Body Works this month, Check out their HOLIDAY CANDLE SELECTION! As soon as you check out, they give you all sorts of holiday discounts like $10 of your next $30 purchase. It’s awesome. The one I have lit right now, is Marshmallow Fireside. It smells like camping/christmas cookies!  I had also bought these great Mexican Pumpkin candles from World Market, that were buy one get one free.  Can’t beat that!

Cheesy bow, But I had it, so I figured, to hell with it, let’s put it ALL up! lol

I have a little obsession with white X-mas trees at the moment. Don’t ask.

My ” I LIKE NUTS” nutcracker I got last year. Love my lil guy.

My Tobi Tobin candle that I think is too pretty to even open.

And of course, you cant have the holiday without at least one poinsettia. They last forever and are easy to take care of. I actually think they’re really pretty. Well, except for the gross colored foil they wrap it in. EW. I picked this one up when I ran into Trader Joe’s yesterday. $5.99 are ya outta ur minddddd!

Tonight, I’m gonna leave you with a little thing I call:

Tomorrow Morning’s Challenge

What is your favorite passed down holiday tradition??

I need help REVAMPING my bedroom!!

In bedroom, decor galore, life, Uncategorized On November 30, 2012 0 Comments

hey guys,  I have been PIN crazy lately! Since I’ve decided to re-do the upstairs master (the only bedroom;)) I have lost my shit on PINterest ever since. Hours spent looking for ideas on layouts, furniture, lighting, etc. I don’t even know where to start. When I moved in 2 years ago, I didn’t have a vision. It was about just gettin everything in the there so I could be done with it.

Let me give you a lil history… I was living with my bestie Amy in Hollywood 3 years ago. We were both single and enjoying it. I met a guy, we ended up becoming quite serious, fast. I was pretty much spending most of my time at his house, which was effin far….Santa clarita.  Where my parents are. I would drive from his house 3-4 days a wk to Beverly Hills for work,  which ended up being 3 1/2-4 hours a day in traffic there and back. Gooood lord. I know, the things we do for love. sighhhh.

Anyway, at some point, around 6 months of dating, somehow we decided and thought it would be easier to move in together. So, the search began. It was a really exciting time. We would stay up late looking for houses. We were mostly looking in the valley because we wanted something in the middle. He worked in Woodland Hills and I in B.H. After a few weeks of checking out places that we felt no connection to, we spotted a lil GEM. On craigslist. Gorgeous 3 bedroom country style home with a pool, a white picket fence and last but not least, a red door! my god, she was a beauty. ONE PROBLEM. It was in Santa Clarita. Further than I wanted by faaaaaaarrrrrr!. I tried to put that house out of my mind and keep looking, but for some reason , it kept coming back to haunt us. One day while J was at work, I decided, Hell, why not just see what it looks like in person. Yeah. I was in love. It was on the cheaper side because it was located at the end of a dirt road, that when in rained, you didn’t know if you would be able to get the hell outta there in the morning. I didn’t care. I wanted country.

We ended up getting this great house. Beautiful. All of the bedroom furniture I had, went into the guest bedroom. It was a full size bed, what did you expect. We bought a wonderful tempurpedic mattress and bed frame , (we both had back problems) that I dream about. (He bought it, so he kept it)lol. We were only in that house 3 months before the relationship took a turn south.

2 years ago to the day, I left, and there went that fabulous bed. Obviously there went everything really. I’m not gonna get into why i left. (I don’t think he would appreciate that) but it was a very sad day…I chose to move forward full force. A few hiccups in the road of course. I found an apt in a great area, just over the canyon from my work. At the time quite a few of my friends were in the same area, so it really did help while I was figuring out my life. Single again. It was weird.

Have you guys ever been in a relationship that got so serious so fast and just ended so abruptly?? like.. BOOM, move on?

Anyway, at the time I didn’t want to get new furniture because I just didn’t have a clue what style I wanted. Plus, anytime you move, it’s an expense and I had no cash leftover. womp woooomp. Little by little, things started to come together. It wasn’t sush a mish mosh. I was calling it eclectic:) I was buying pieces one at the time.I painted all the walls white.(it really helps if you don’t have that much light coming through, to do that instead of a color that will drown out the brightness) I mounted my t.v in the living room which totally opened up the room, got a lrg FAB couch, and a great cozy area rug.  Sometimes the hardwood everywhere tends to feel a bit stark to me, and I like the cozy vibe. I must share pics of the down stairs. I’m proud:) The bedroom on the other hand,  It’s embarrassing. It’s the most awkward layout ever. It’s huge but in the long kinda way. Somewhat disproportioned.

I will post pics of the layout, In the meantime, since I’ve been PIN crazy, I’ve found lots of great ideas and options for similar spaces. YEAY, there is hope. Now I just gotta save dollllasss, to start with a new bed.  By the way, how the EFF am I supposed to do with all my old stuff. I can’t get all that furniture down the stairs?? What do people do?? HELP!

ok here it goes:) Just a few ideas out of many, but these are the faves for bed and office. I’m also gonna have my little home gym on the opposite side of the room in from of the mirrors. That’s gonna be a whole other project though. Please feel free to leave your thoughts! I love your comments and they do sincerely help!

Thanks for listening to my semi-dramatic story:)

Question of the day:

What are some of the ways you manage to lunge forward and not look back?
