In At home cooking, Beauty, clean food, fashion, get the look, popular recipes, protein, Sunday funday, Uncategorized On November 21, 2013 1 Comment

Hi friends! Happy HUMP day! Had such a busy day today in the salon, it was great! Only thing….around 3 pm…I started feeling super sick:( no clue why. Ugh, I hate that. All I wanted to do, was get home, have some soup + oatmeal, and blog:) not too much to report today, but a got a few shots from my Sunday Funday at the beach….some fab new bangles from MADEWELL…white nails, and a super AMAZING mugcake recipe!!! Yeeeeeooooooo

Super beautiful day out at County line.

Marcin & I threw together a delicious picnic, packed surfboards, threw willy in the car, and headed north on PCH. It first started out cloudy, but cleared up fairly soon. The surf was pretty small, but super fun! Well, for me at least…I like the small, cute waves;)
Poor Willy, we tried to leave him on the beach as we paddled out, but……apparently….dogs go into full on SAVE YOUR OWNER mode, and he literally leaped into the ocean (no, he doesn’t swim) thinking we were gonna drown! It was seriously the craziest shit I have ever seen him do! Straight pounded by waves, poor baby. We even tried to tie him up while we went out, and he started screaming bloody murder. I mean, has that ever happened to any of you? Wtf! He had to wait in the car…

I just noticed….the boo looks like Orlando Bloom in these pics. Lol. Adorbs.

Yeay, this week, finally received my order from, in which I ordered while in Danville. Amy’s sis Lindsay had these on and I swooned over them so much, I had to copy!
They look super cute stacked too!

studded gold: $29.50
Geometric gold: $24.50
Silver: $21.50

Tuesday came with a slowwwwww day at the salon, so you know what that means!!!! White gel nails from my favorite nail place, Pampered Hands.
Why is it that when you’re not makin’ money, all you wanna do….I spend money.
It’s all gravy, today’s full book made up for it;)

Alright, ok….I saved the beys for last….. Faaaackingggg MUGCAKES! My weakness. Single handedly, my favorite dessert/ breakfast! Honestly, you can have this whenever the hell you want! Wanna know why????
Check out. The ingredients….nothing but healthy, wholesome, guilt-free stuff!

I gotta tell ya….I get so much inspiration for food, and recipes off all my fitfam friends in Instagram! This particular recipe shouted out to me. Adena, over at PRETTYLITTLEFEAST, posted this not too long ago, and it just had FF2F ALLLLLL over it! PUMPKIN…YESS…CHOCOLATE PREOTEIN…HELL YESSSSS! anyway…
This seriously took me 3 minutes to make. I mixed all the ingredients, in the same bowl I cooked it in. C’mon. Super easy! No excuse!
Try this tomorrow!!!

Chocolate Pumpkin Mugcake
Recipe type: Healthy
Serves: 1

  • 2 tbsp chocolate whey protein
  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (I love this one)
  • 2 tbsp egg whites
  • 2 tbsp canned pumpkin
  • a few drops of stevia or 1 packet (if powder)
  • (optional topping: PB2 mixed with a bit of water & strawberries)

  1. place ingredients in a greased bowl. ( I used coconut oil spray)
  2. Microwave for a MINUTE.
  3. Continue to cook in 15 SECOND intervals, to make sure you are not over cooking.
  4. Flip onto a plate & add toppings.

You can top this with whatever you want! Greek yogurt, honey, almond butter… I love powdered peanut butter… 85% less fat. I’m all about it. Duh.
Did you love this recipe? Want more cake? Cake.cake.cake.cake.

Try my Vanilla Almond Mugcake or Chocolate Lava Protein mugcake!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! Big hugs and love.

Fitness magazine meet and tweet event!!!

In Beauty, events, fitness, interviews, Uncategorized On October 26, 2013 0 Comments

What an amazing event to be a part of, I gotta tell ya! So stoked to have been a part of Fitness Magazine’s meet and tweet event on Tuesday! It took me EFFIN ages to get there due to the horrendous traffic on the 405 freeway…annnnnnnd not to mention, THE FLAT TIRE! Ugh, I literally rolled to Santa Monica in the slow lane, with the hazards on all the way to PCH highway. Lol.
Please don’t ever do that. Triple A came and fixed the problem when the event was over.

Not only did we get to meet some inspirational speakers leading fitness and health industry, but all of us bloggers got to finally meet:) It’s so funny, cuz a lot of us have never met but feel as though we truly know each other through our instagrams, facebooks, or blogs.

Whatever the case…I made it! It was a beautiful day in sunny Santa Monica, at the Annenberg Community beach House, and surrounding the pool were all of our generous sponsors.

**Roxy**Oakley**Dermalogica**Birkenstock**Crystal Light**Athleta**Ford fiesta Movement**Clif Bar**Camelbak**Saucony**

My new Camelbak filtered water bottle. Stoked.

I couldn’t believe it! Tony Horton was there to speak. He was super cool, funny, and had really amazing insight to creating balance in fitness. If you’ve never heard of tony Horton, then you, my friend, are living under a fuckin rock. He is the mastermind behind all that is P90X, beachbody and much more. Let’s just call him….genius.

Another fitness enthusiast. Mr. Harley Pasternak. Celebrity fitness guru and trainer, with a really great and refreshing perspective to healthy living. His book, The Body Reset Diet, is a 3- phase program focuses on easy, effective ways to slim down. Perhaps one of the main things that’s that stands out to me…is that he emphasizes one blended meal a day. This book seems to be very easy to follow.

Things learned from his talk:

take 12,000 steps a day.

Blend one meal a day.

Resistance training is key

graze don’t gorge.

Juicing is not recommended. All it is…is lots calories especially from sugar.

Next up, was the beautiful Alyce Levine. Registered dietitian and nutritionist and founder of This was a home run for me. She hit a lot of points that I seriously related to. Mostly, on why we binge, how to overcome the battle, and how to come to a place of nutritional balance where you can have that bag of chips in your house, and you can have the occasional drink. She emphasized on not give food the power to become the “forbidden fruit” and to stop “rewarding” ourselves with food.

Coolest part was getting to know some really awesome and successful fellow bloggers, Cassie from blogilates, Sarah from Skinny Runner, Monica from Run Eat Repeat, and Whitney from Eco vegan gal.
They gave some really great insight I to how they got started in blogging and how they turned their blogging into a legitimate business. Super funny and sweet chicks. Unfortunately didn’t get much of a chance to get to chat with them to much, but glad to have been there to hear all of their advice. Here are a few key points that the girls touched upon.

Super important to me as a blogger, but maybe you’re looking to start a blog and need some advice..?????

**** the importance of social media and having a presence within that community. Get yourself out there and don’t be afraid to be yourself.

**** don’t be a cheat! DO NOT buy instagram followers or twitter followers or whatever the f*%k. You’re just gonna be super embarrassing if you do that. Ew. Lol

**** know your worth. Set up a media kit and charge for your time. It takes time as a blogger to do what we do, so don’t sell yourself short. I especially loved when Monica mentioned, ” listen, YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN A FREE BOX OF GRANOLA!” Reviews, giveaways…all of that takes time and effort, you should be compensated. Ask your fellow bloggers what they do, get ideas, become a community of friends.

**** oh here’s a good one from Sarah, “Use an ad network (I have GLAM Media), Google Adsense, start a newsletter to reach all of your readers, and look for brands and companies that are a good, organic fit to partner with. Sponsored content is taking the place of ads so position yourself with companies that would be a great fit for your voice and topic.”

The food there was spectacular! Super fresh.

They served an array of veggies and salad, along with butternut squash hummus, lemon chicken, garlic shrimp, and glazed salmon. Omg goodness. So

Bobbi, Whitney & I sat and enjoyed our yummies by the pool eagerly waiting to pounce the sponsors for those ridiculous giveaways! Lol. I’m sorry, ya just can’t blame me. Lol.

First stop… Birkenstock. Hell yessssssss.

I was ecstatic when I saw that they were one of the sponsors. If you know me well, then you know, that I’ve got the worst feet. After dancing Zumba 4-5 days a wk, I started noticing pain on the tops and arches of my, BAD. Of course, on top of that…the fact that I work on my feet all day, really doesn’t help. I was diagnosed with tendonitis. Ughhhhhhh. So I really had to make huge changes to my workout regimen and the shoes I wore on a daily basis. This added to my ongoing Orthopedic shoe collection! Lol.
#1: no , I did not get the green ones. I got pink. ;)

#2: ok, they are not the absolute cutest, but….they are amazing for your feet.

Dermalogica hooked it up with some sweet products and a full face consultation! Thanks ladies!

Ok….sooooooo……Saucony hooked this betch up phat!!!
Free running shoes!!! Freaking out. I was actually looking for new shoes, so this couldn’t have been more perfect!!! And to go along with my new shies….Roxy active wear decked us out in some sick gear as well!

Turns out I wear an 8 in running shoes. Wtf!? I guess I never knew I had or go up a whole size!

Ford Fiesta had a super fun photo booth set up. Here’s my dumbo shot.

Those were just a few of the peeps that hooked it up. So generous!! Thank you to Fitness Magazine & all the sponsors and speakers!!! What an awesome event!

The best way to end this day was a beautiful beach run with all of us bloggers and the Saucony team! I think we ran about 3 miles and it was stunning out! Of course… At the end, I walked over to useless flat tire’d vehicle and waiting for triple A…….. Lol.

Helooooo..helllllllllooooooo! I’m back! Just feeling like I’m finally getting back into my groove and this week has started off AMAZING! My house is still a bit messy, but hey. Whatever.
Started off the week full force at the gym and now a proud new member of COREPOWER yoga.
I’m really into it right now, and the best part…. It doesn’t irritate the tendonitis! Thank god. I used to loathe yoga, now…it’s the ONLY thing that makes me focus in every sense of the word. My breath…awareness in my body and allowing myself to truly understand how to clear my racing mind. So into it! I’ve been doing the heated fusion classes, but still really enjoy traditional and non-heated.
Anyway… I am feeling strong, and I’m enjoying my new practice and progress.
What are you guys into right now? Do you listen to your body?

My breakfasts lately have been incredible POG’s!!! that’s right.. (pots of greatness!) my Instagram friends inspire me to change it up constantly. 1- to stay excited about clean yummy foods and 2- especially to avoid binging eating.
I literally fill a mason jar full of super delicious & nutritious foods such as
chia seeds in unsweetened almond milk, & maca powder
Greek yogurt with your favorite protein powder,
Favorite nut mix
Berries,kiwis, stone fruits

The possibilities are endless:)
Just keep layering and changing it up! So fun and AAAAAAMMMAAAZINGGGG.

Prep for the pot of greatness, along with some David’s tea:)

Today on the tea menu… Mint Julep, with fresh mint of course. I discovered David’s Tea while on my Vancouver trip, and now, can’t get enough. Remember now…I was always Miss. Coffee. Kinda over that now… Weirddddddd.

Wilbur, aka…white ninja sidekick is stoked to be hangin’ with his mama all day:) I sneak him into shops and I don’t care if I’m judged. Lol. On days off, this is my rolldawg.

As you know, I’ve been on a mission to finish my upstairs and finally get an actual office space for more organization. Sooooo with the help of my Amiga, I went on a gnarly desk hunt.

I was at my folks house (house-sitting) so we decided to hit up Urban Home. There she all her glory. My new desk! ok, it may or may not actually be a dining table…but eff it. Honestly…the pic just doesn’t do it justice, and no it’s not 2-toned wood. It’s the light. So annoying. I swear, it’s really pretty. Best part, it’s a bigggg ol’ thang! ok.. So I bought it, then we both realize….”um, how are we gonna get this to my house 25 miles away.?” Mos def not in my VW Golf. Lol. Figuring this out mañana… Also a few more items I need to find…preferably like, tomorrow….
night stand lamps
A tv wall mount
One more small dresser. ( I have a lot
of sports bras.
oh…. And a desk chair, maybe two.
Eeeekkkkk…thank goodness for that check comin. Jussssst a lil home decor addiction, that’s all. Ugh
This bitch is a sucker for a good sale!

Along with my new Le Roche Posay regimen, I’ve been blessed with these perfect little soap treats and body lotions by LaBellaVieSpa.
Took a quick shopping break for a soap photoshoot. Lol

These products are free of petroleum, sulfates, parabens, synthetics and un-natural preservatives that plaque your skin’s products.
Made with natural ingredients that are seriously beneficial for you. All products are created by loving hands using vegan ingredients and fine essential oils that your skin will fall in love with. No secrets here. The ingredients are listed so you know exactly what your putting on your skin.

Time to chill, have a beer, and enjoy a delicious dinner with the homie. Outdoor patio of course.

We ordered light beers. My low carb go to.. Michelob Ultra. In an extra cold glass.
An amazing seafood ceviche. I actually managed to only have 4 or 5 chips. Honest. Lol

Japanese cucumber salad.
( not pictured: veggies with hummus)

Pretty damn shocked at how healthy you can eat at The Lazy Dog Cafe. Apparently, you can bring your dog there…pfffff, who knew? Delicious, satisfying, and a gorgeous night out.

Reviews are fun! Not only do I get to sample some really great products, ( sometimes not so great :( lol) but It allows me to share with all of you, foods and products to encourage continues success in your fit and healthy lifestyle. Plus, sometimes you just need to switch it up. We all get bored of the same shit different day.
So first up… DETOUR BARS.
I tried these for the first time at the Blend Retreat a couple months ago, and had a secret crush on them, particularly the new flavor. Neapolitan. Well maybe cuz that was my favorite ice cream flavor growing up. Seriously.
The lovely folks over at Detour, sent me a lil box to get me hooked, lol. I also had a copule of friends, who aren’t Neapolitan obsessed, try it to see if they would be into it….and the main consensus, “MMMMMMM, YUMMMMMMM. That’s lovely.”
I don’t think it’s considered a meal replacement bar. For me, it’s a snack bar. Mid day, or after a workout in between meals.
It is actually low in sugar, but I’m not a huge fan of sugar alcohols. I used to not mind them, And I’m sure a lot of you also don’t, but lately, I’ve noticed that when I consume certain sugar alcohols, I get gassy, and bloated. Not cute.

I’ve been eating 1 bar, as a snack, every other day, and luckily, so far, no bloating. Stoked! If you are not familiar with sugar alcohols…click here.
What I absolute LOVE, is the taste! Not too sweet at all! Pheeeew. Some bars are so sweet it almost makes me sick! These are the perfect texture. Slightly nougat-ty, with no chalky after taste.
only 5 grams of fat. 15 protein. 3 sugars. 3 NET carbs!
Check out more about they’re other products and how to order here!

So here’s what’s up…. Overall, I’m really into these. They’re perfect for on the go busy chicks. These are just the right size. If you’re someone that can easily sub a meal for a bar, they do offer larger meal replacement bars as well. I’m tired of 100 calorie almond packs. These are protein packed and without all the fat. Oh and taste way yummier:)

And for the finale….they are awesome. They are offering my readers 25% off your order!!! Ohhhh heeeeyyyyyyyy. Honestly go order yourself some yummy, healthy snacks. You deserve it.

Onto some really important business….. Our internal systems….
Let me start by saying, PROBIOTICS SAVED MY LIFE!!
Ok, not like I was dying…but I swear, since starting to incorporate these amazing products into my life, my everything has become better!
Here’s where I go into a lil TMI. (Too much info) lol.
My whole life (no joke, whole life), I’ve struggled with sluggish digestion, CONSTANT constipation, and I believe, consistently battled with candida. Seriously, awful. I always felt that my good bacteria often battled the bad bacteria and lost. Never a nice feeling.
Before really understanding and becoming knowledgeable about how probiotics worked, I would just eat a bit of yogurt or maybe even buy some light over the counter “no name” shitty pro-b product, and I remember thinking, ” this is bull shit, I don’t know why “they” say this is suppose to help me?”
Well babes, do your research. You MUST take your body to a MUCH higher level of healthy flora to encourage optimum health benefits.
Taking a daily probiotic supplement has been shown to help restore a balanced digestive sytem and promote healthy digestion and natural defenses. My belly is a happy lady now:)

Did you know, that as we age, the amount of healthy bacteria in our bodies begins to decrease? Also, things like, stress, illness, and antibiotics, can really upset our digestive balance, and create a segway for harmful bacteria to make your body it’s new home. Um, no thank you.

These Ultimate Flora “Extra Care” are made with all natural ingredients.
* NO gmos
* NO soy or dairy

* DO have 30 billion active cultures
offer delayed release capsules to avoid acidity in the belly

Totally obsessed with their probiotics, I came to realize that I had tried another one of their specialty products!! Remember when I did my 7 day cleanse??! it was unbelievable! I loved it. They offer all strengths of probiotics, immune system builders, total body cleansing, you freakin name it! They are the LEADING company in all that is digestive care.
Honestly, when Renew Life first contacted me about possibly reviewing a couple of their products, I FREAKED OUT! I emailed them right away, like…omggggggg, it’s a sign! I’ve been needing you in my life! Ahhhhhhhh. Lol. Just like that.
I have absolutely benefited from taking these products. I may or may not stock my fridge with a few different strengths. I’m telling you. Obsessed.
Let me ask you now….. Have you ever experienced digestive issues, bloating, constipation, irritation, yeast infections, etc?
If you’ve answered yes to any of those, you need to give these a try. They are worth every penny. They are like gold to me. I’ve even got a batch of 50 billion & 100 billion in the fridge that I have on hand for critical digestive health. Here is a LIST of places where you can find Ultimate Flora products.
Here’s where you may get LUCKY!
Renew Life has freakin HOOKED IT UP!
They are offering to give away a 2 month supply of Ultimate Flora products to 1 lucky winner!!!!
Seriously, what are you waiting for!!!!!!!

In Beauty, events, giveaway!, new faves, Reviews, spotlight, Uncategorized On July 7, 2013 1 Comment

It’s official! It’s SUMMER!!! With 4th of July behind us now, it doesn’t mean getting bikini body ready is out the window!!!! I am sure that we all have loads of parties and beach outings to get sexy for! ;) Well, today’s post is very special. Not just because I like to be a brown doggy in the summer, but also, because I want to highlight my best friend. Amy Jacob. She recently became a specialist in organic spray tanning, and it killing it!

Welcome to ROMAN Salon. Amy and I go way back. We went to hair school together and have been by each others side ever since. We’ve worked together…even lived together, so when Roman Salon announced their beauty blogger event, you best believe I was was expecting an invite! Lol

This quaint but modern salon is nestled in between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. On La Cienega blvd to be exact. It’s EFFIN CUTE! I thought the event was a great way for people to get to know the staff, and check out all that they had to offer as a team. I grabbed a glass of sparkling wine, and found myself in awe of their gorgeous back patio space.

Great magazines…a must. While here…check out their list of awesome press and magazine write ups!

Fresh flowers…a must x4!

To the moon and back. Homies.

That’s right… You’re seeing correctly. Those are outdoor stations! Why not enjoy getting your hair done outside!? Especially great for Brazilian blowouts. No in-salon fumes. Amy is a specialist in that too! She gave me one a while back, and it was THE BOMB!

Clients, friends, and bloggers alike enjoying some local yummies and having a chat.

We enjoyed fresh baked mini cupcakes from a local baker…

Fresh caprese sandwiches and each were sent home with a mason jar full of candied walnuts courtesy of picnic LA :) heaarrttssss! Delish.

This gorgeous patio is to die for! Across the patio, you will find a separate area for airbrush tanning and men’s barbering. Genius. It’s like a small little bohemian compound.
Oh, you know….just sippin’ on some organic watermelon juice & champagne while I get my service on! No bigs…. Lol
The service here…impeccable. Love this place.

Amy Jacob is a top stylist. She gives amazing haircuts ( clearly Vidal Sassoon trained) and smokes the competition with her Brazilian blowout skills. She just gets it.
To add to her repertoire, she now offers a new service!!! I swear, this bitch is on fire. I can’t keep up. ORGANIC AIRBRUSH TANNING! I am fully taking advantage of this;)
Ok not gonna lie…. I am a confessed sunworshiper, and have been all my life. If you ask Amy, she’ll tell you the same. In our younger years, we obsessed over who had the better “dirty face” tan. I know….gross. I even worked at at tanning salon when I was 16 to pretty much get free tans, cuz trust me, they weren’t payin’ me much. I mean….you get the idea. I love being a brown doggy. Lol
Well, as we get older….maybe notttttttt the best idea, huh? As grown women, we all now have to be uber careful of damaging uv lights, sun spots ( hyper pigmentation) cancer, ugh. All of these are dangerous, and age us like nobodies business. Ew.
Clearly, now with new ridiculous technology and brainiacs…we can now be perfectly tan without all the harm.

I was weary of spray tans after seeing friends walk out of random tanning salons looking like umpa-lumpas, and would always go ” um, yeah…no thanks.”
They were going into machines, rubbing some lotion on their hands and feet to avoid ” staining” and spinning around inside while this machine sprayed carrot colored pigment un-evenly across your body. Gooooooood lord. Well, we’ve come along way!
Not only do spray tans get applied by a professional now, it is absolutely customized to your body shape, color, pigment, all of it. It’s absolutely amazing. The days of looking like streaky mess are over. I sat down with Amy to get the rundown of this new and organic product, and for y’all to get to know her a bit;)

FF2F: How long have you been at Roman Salon?

Amy: I have been at Roman Salon for three and a half years, and have been working in this industry now for about ten years.

FF2F: What do you specialize in?

Amy: I have been a stylist, specializing in hair cutting for the entirety of my career. My newest beauty venture is custom organic airbrush tanning.

FF2F: Appts only or walk in’s welcome?

Amy: Walk ins are welcomed! But an appointment is recommended if there’s a specific time or day you like.

FF2F: Tell me a bit about these products you use for organic spray tanning? And how do they compare to other products out?

Amy: Because, like almost everyone, I’ve had a bad faux tan before, I did a ton of research before choosing a product to use, and I am absolutely in love with this solution! Most importantly, I wanted the most natural product I could find… this one is organic, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan, so it’s great for those with sensitivities. Every tan is custom blended to compliment each persons unique skin tone and desire tan depth, meaning we can give you anything from the most subtle hint of color, to back-from-vacation bronzed! Airbrush tanning should not be a one-color-fits-all situation, which I had found most of the time. Also, the bronzing agent in the solution is very subtle, and my clients love that they can go about their day, or sneak back to work, without looking crazy brown and having to hide at home until it’s time to shower.

FF2F: How long will my tan last?

Amy: Expect your tan to last at least one week.

FF2F: Will it stain my clothes?

Amy: It won’t stain clothes, but I always advise clients to come in with loose, dark fitting clothing, and flip flops because there is a slight tint to the solution. And if you like to tan with undies one, choose black ones.

FF2F: Should I exfoliate before my session?

Amy: Yes! A thorough exfoliation from face down to the feet will ensure that your glow lasts as long as possible, and wears off evenly. Come to your session without lotions or oils on your skin, and makeup and deodorant free if possible.

FF2f: What are the advantages to a person “customizing” your tan as opposed to the spray tan machine alternative?

Amy: It’s a night and day difference! I have always found those machines to produce a super orange-y fake color, and they always seem to stain the cuticles and feet/heels. That’s the dead giveaway! The style in which I spray my clients replicates the way in which the sun would tan you: subtly darker in areas like tops of arms, shoulders, back, tummy, legs, and slightly lighter on hands, feet, face, neck… This assures you never look “dipped” in color!

FF2F: What is the cost per session? How often should I come in to keep up that “summer glow”?

Amy: A tanning session is $55. I also offer some partials: $35 for Upper or Lower Body, and $25 for Face/Neck/Chest. If you’d like to maintain a tan, come about every week and a half. I find clients love to come right before a wedding, special event, or vacation. Also, join us for Happy Hour every Thursday evening from 3-7, for $40 full body tans!

Here’s the deets!

Parking: La Cienega offers generous metered street parking, as well as 2 hour street parking in the adjacent West Hollywood neighborhood.

When sick…I stick to FIT.

In At home cooking, Beauty, Breakfast, clean food, fitness, fitness plan, giveaway!, GPP FITNESS, new faves, Uncategorized, WOD On June 4, 2013 1 Comment

Well….it’s Monday. My day off. Sick as a dog. Ugh. I’ve been sick since Saturday when I woke up feeling like I got hit by a truck. I am not one to try and heal holistically….. I love all that stuff, but truthfully…I need the whatever the hell is gonna cure me the fastest. This chick cannot get sick. Too much to do! I can rest when I’m dead;) lol. Ok, just kidding. I’m not that crazy, but I am not opposed to over-the-counter meds to cure the average flu-like symptoms. I use my vitamins and stuff ore for preventative measures:)

Last night I stayed the night at my folks house. You know how it is when you’re sick….there’s nothing better than Mom and Dad catering to your every sicky girl request. “Mom, can you bring me water?” “Mom, can you finish the laundry I brought:(?” Lol. Sad, but true. I am such a mommy/daddy girl still at almost 30 damn years old.

So when I woke up cozy at the rents house after probably 12 hrs of “passed the eff out” sleep, I felt sooo much better.

This is what crossed my mind…..

I don’t remember the last time someone brought me breakfast in bed….but God,that is a delight! Thanks Mami;) luckily mom had the day off, so we both snuggled and had breakfast in bed while watching Disappeared on A&E. You know, chick stuff.

was egg white and spinach scramble
And a side of homemade FLAX toast with sugar free preserves.
Oh, and not to forget….my coffee of course. I used my favorite almond milk. 30 calorie SILK frothed with a packet of NuNaturals stevia.( Get a FREE sample here.)

I really didn’t want to start feeling shitty today, so I took my favorite “any kinda sick” go to. THERAFLU.

I finally rolled my ass outta bed, gathered all my crap from moms and headed back home to good ol’ Sherman Oaks. Once I handled some calories and payed bills, I felt we’ll enough to hike Fryman Canyon for a hike with the pup. It wasn’t super hot out today, so I figured he could stand it, besides, mama carries loads of water for him. ;) He drinks more than me. Tisk. Tisk.

I worked up a good sweat to the top. All uphill, and somehow my freshly washed hair, still in tact.
A gorgeous day out. I let willy off the leash, and he plopped down in the shade for a photo op;) as you all know, I get hungry at the first sign of physical exertion, so I made sure to pack a yummy PROBAR for when I got to the top.

Lunch was A-Ma-ZING!

I felt like a new person after lunch. This is why I love to eat every couple of hours. Small meals of course. My energy levels stay leveled. if I wait to long…one of two things happens. I feel totally fatigued….or I binge like a fool. So, I opt for the lighter meals, more often.

Since returning from my awesome blend retreat in Utah, you all know that I’ve become a proud advocate of GPP Fitness. I make sure to check their website every single day for my workouts, inspiration, questions I may have, etc.

Today’s workout

…and you best believe I took my ass on to the gym. I felt we’ll enough. I am pushing through. Trust me, I know my body, I wouldn’t have done it if I was weak.

6 days of workouts with SUNDAYS OFF. I also include 3 days of intense/moderate cardio. ( 2 of those cardio days being ZUMBA)
If I can do this…

Do NOT feel intimidated at the gym. Weights are not only for men! I promise…once you get in there, and release that fear, you will become sooooo empowered!

I grabbed all the equipment I needed, found space in the aerobic room and began my workout.
HOLY HARD!!!! This workout all together was maybe 30 minutes long, but AS EFFECTIVE as being in the gym 1 hour 15 min. This is what interval training looks like. Get in.. Do the work… And get out.

My essentials:
My gymboss interval timer.
My new Ryka high top performance shoes.
A list of my GPP work for the day.

As I’m writing this….I roasted delicious veggies for dinner:)
Yellow squash
Baby peppers
Tossed in EVOO, garlic powder, salt & pepper, and Italian seasonings.
@ 375 for approx 40 minutes or longer if you like it more caramelized.

Ok, so I was a bit naughty Sunday morning. My excuse…I am sick, so I need to spend $42 dollars at Sephora on this……

I am a NARS FANATIC! So, when I spotted the NEW Pierre Hardy collection, I wet myself. I died for this color Rotonde (tiger lily)
That’s it, there was nothing I could do…
This shade is LIMITED EDITION! It’s gorgeous.

Well babes, that’s it…that’s all for today.
The moral of the story is……

Oh heeeeyyyyoooo! My loves! I’ve missed you! Hope you all enjoyed the last post. Aren’t you NOW, just as obsessed with Target as I am!? Anyway, get ready, cuz it’s that time again! The beginning of the week is full of healthy eats and recipes, workout ideas, my weekly exercise goal and my favorite part….. GET THE LOOK!

I just HAVE to share what I did the other day, that I totally forgot to blog about!
I got LAZZZZZZZERRRRED! zappity zappppp! If you are still waxing, GET A CLUE!
Ain’t noboooooody got time fo dat!

I am a total lover and fanatic for laser hair removal. It’s freakin genius. I’ve done it a few times before, but it was my first time at this particular location. My friend had gone here before, and highly recommended it. She said that they also had a particular laser machine that was geared more towards olive skin tones, so I was stoked. My skin can sometimes act a bit sensitive.
The place is called PROLASE in Glendale.

We waited practically no time, which is alllllways appreciated. Happy to say that I am practically completely hairless;) like a baby’s bum! Today for me, was a touch up, but I dragged my friend along to try It for the first time. Bless her, she was so damn nervous! I was trying to explain what it felt like, ” it’s kinda like, as if someone is snapping a rubber band on your skin really fast…with cold shots of air” ummmmmmm. Weird description, but I couldn’t really pinpoint what it felt like, all I knew, was that, it was wellll worth it!

You can shave the night before, to me, virtually painless, and you only have to go every 6 wks. By the 7-8 time, hair free! The bomb! This place is fantastic, great service, great machines, and very good prices. They also specialize in other skin treatments:)

Just thought I’d share, in case any of you are considering getting it done:)

Tuesday is the beginning of my week, and I like to start it off with a BANG!

A “FASTED” cardio workout, and strength training upper body.
Showing off my new Target hat:) $9.99 biatchessssss! Sooo cute right!?
Now that I have bangs, I find that hats are the easiest to get them outta my face while I’m working out. I can’t stand pinning my hair back like snookie. No thanks.

And no Biggs….just repping my colts:) I’m a huge Peyton Manning fan, so of course I now have two teams:) Colts & the Broncos!!!

Please stop feeling intimidated to get in that weight room!!! Don’t let those boys intimidate you. I get it, it’s a new environment to you…but, that’s why you become knowledgeable in what you are doing, and which muscles you are are trying to work, because, let’s be honest, nobody wants to hurt themselves lifting weights, and no one wants to see anyone getting hurt lifting. Knowledge is power, so go in there confident, with an agenda….and that’s to build strength with great form and technique. If you have any questions, you guys, ASK THE TRAINERS! That’s what they’re there for!

My workout consisted of:

30 minute cardio:
Elliptical intervals, alternating in resistance and incline to raise my heart rate.
0-2 minutes at resistance 5 > incline 10
2-5 minutes at resistance 9 > incline 5
Keep repeating that circuit for 30 minutes.

30 minutes of resistance and weight training.
Leg raises
Weighted cable crunch
Stability ball AB work
Mountain climbers
Dead lifts
Back rows

So, as youve probably noticed, currently, my favorite post workout meal has been “Good Girl Pancakes”. I just can’t get enough of them! They are so incredibly healthy and fast, that I’ve become a master. These particular ones were made in like 4 minutes!! No joke, no lie!
All you need is the following:

1 tbsp coconut flour

1 tbsp vanilla protein powder

1 tsp gelatin

Either 1 egg and 1 egg white or use 2-3 egg whites.

Mix really well, grease a pan, form ur pancake, and in a couple min, flip. They cook super fast.

I absolutely loovvveeee nut butters, so I topped these with almond butter, hemp seeds and sugar free honey, but you are welcome ( obviously) to top with berries, coconut oil, nuts, whateves;)
These fill me up till about 10:30 when it’s time to feed my body more proteins! I need 5-6 small meals a day with the workouts I’m doing.

I have such a ritual now, I’m loving it.
Until shower and get ready time:)
People ask me all the time if wearing these “special socks” really makes a difference… And I say YESSSSSSS!
These fantastic little things help reduce recovery time, reduce chance of injury, and reduce any swelling or inflammation. They are spectacular. I actually sometimes wear them while I workout. I feel more stable with them on, kinda like a security blanket;)
If you check out Pro Compressions website, they are always having promos, sometimes for 40% off. Sooo amazing!

Like I said earlier….I need protein!
One of my faves!

1 packet About time strawberry protein

2 tbsp low fat cottage cheese or 0% Greek yogurt.

4 drops stevia

1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1/2 cup water

4-5 ice cubes

1 tbsp unsweetened unrefined shredded coconut.

2 strawberries ( 1 for shake, 1 for garnish)

I just throw everything in my vitamix, but, if you ain’t got one, that’s totally fine, use any blender you’ve got ;) btw….. I can’t even begin to tell how worth it, that Vitamix was…changed my life!

Another snack that I’m packing all week is low fat cottage cheese with blueberries.
This particular C.C is by Lucerne. It’s great because its low sodium!

I will pack usually 1/2 a cup along with 1/2 cup berries.

My mornings are busy, so every night, before bed, I make sure to pack my lunch and snacks.
This weekend was so busy, that I didn’t get a chance to do my cooking for the week, so on this day, I opted for a big super salad.

Swiss chard

Spinach/kale mix

2 pieces turkey bacon

1 heart of palm

A handful of chopped cilantro.

Dressed with olive oil and vinegar

My afternoon snacks not pictured:

A tbsp peanut butter

A handful of almonds

A handful of raw green beans with hummus

My dinner plan, was to get my ass home to cookin!

First things first….pour a glass of this gorgeous italian red.

On the menu this evening folks:

Alright, lets start with the RAW ZUCCHINI HUMMUS:

You could use, either a vitamix, or a food processor.
This recipe is sooo good, and the best part, is that it’s RAW, and virtually no carbs! No chickpeas in this recipe.
You can find raw tahini at whole foods or online. Tahini is made of sesame seeds. All it is is sesame paste really. It’s delicious in, not only hummus, but also for making salad dressings:) a great staple to have in your fridge.

3 medium zucchini’s

1/4 c olive oil

1/4 – 1/2 cup lemon juice ( I like mine with 1/2 a cup, u know I love lemon;)

1/2 cup raw organic tahini

1.5 t salt

2 t cumin

3 cloves of garlic

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp Paprika and some to garnish

Peel the zucchinis, and cube them, add all the rest of the ingredients and blend in bitamix or food processor.

Top or garnish with a little olive oil , paprika and pine nuts or seasoned pumpkin seeds, and Enjoy!

This makes a batch that will force you to share. Orrrr, not;) it’s that good.
Eat with flax crackers, dip your veggies, and add to your salads.
(adapted from Sacred Source Nutrition)

A bag of broccoli florets from Trader Joes.

1/2 a lemon

Garlic Salt and pepper

Dash of paprika

Olive oil spray or 1/2 tsp.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line roasting pan with foil, add broccoli, toss with remaining ingredients, and roast for 15-20. When the tips start to brown. I don’t like to cook the death out of veggies, sooooo don’t do it either;) no need to deplete all of the nutrition…

Time to pile on MORE VEGETABLES!

My favorite healthy add in for any meal, are roasted vegetables. I literally throw everything I have in the fridge in a roasting pan, I’m so into it.
Today, we’ve got.

Brussel sprouts

Red peppers

I pretty much just 1/2 everything, throw them onto a roasting pan, toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other seasoning you like, lay out evenly, and roast at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, and you’ve got a great side or topping to any dish.
What’s great about roasting, is that the vegetables soften so much, that they almost caramelize themselves , and become a bit sweet. Ahhhh, so bomb!

Like I said, veggies go with everything. I actually don’t even count my veggies as part of my caloric intake.check out DINNER!

Because I get bored easily of chicken and fish, sometimes I need a bit of red meat to break it up. For those of you who think red meat is bad for you, think again. Check it out…
especially if you are anemic and/or an athlete.

“Meat provides nutrients runners need like iron to help maintain energy levels. It also supplies protein and amino acids that repair small muscle tears that occur during training,” according to a sports dietitian quoted by the magazine. A lean cut of beef such as sirloin or tenderloin can be a great source of zinc and iron. And B vitamins, which “help convert carbohydrates into the fuel needed to make it through a training run, are particularly plentiful in beef,” according to the article’s author, Jessica Girdwain.

96% lean organic ground beef

1/4 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp cumin

1 tsp salt

1 tsp chipotle seasoning

1/4 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper ( I’m into spicy right now… It aids in fat burning, so get into it)

2 chopped shallots

2 finely chopped garlic cloves

1/4 cup water

In a bowl, combine ground beef with all your seasonings, other than water, shallots, garlic. Get in there with your hands to ensure it’s mixed well.
In a large skillet, sautée the shallots and garlic on medium heat. Just to soften
Add meat mixture. Sautée and break up chunks with a spatula. Add water, and cook for another 10 minutes on med/ high heat.

Now I was complete;)

Complete nutrition. Protein, fiber, fat, and complex carbs. This is called EATING FOR FUEL.
Listen, it’s hard to stay on top of eating clean sometimes, but we can prevent binge eating and bad decisions by preparing ourselves. I always encourage pre-planned meals that include all of the nutrition your body needs, so that later on in the day, the body doesn’t say ” WTF I NEED CARBS! Remember, vegetables are a great source of carbohydrates, with occasional quinoa, lentils, and oats. If you feed your body the right things, and OFTEN, you won’t feel deprived. Also, not to mention, the right foods burn fat too, so, it’s a win-win.

My basic packed lunch:

Sharing my week in workouts with you guys! I can’t stress enough, how important and efficient it has been for me to actually write down my workout goals! It’s changed the way I train, I swear. The fact that I’ve typed it out, and shared with y’all, makes me feel completely accountable!
You know what I just thought of!!?
Since I get inspired by all of you reading my weekly workouts….. What if you sent me YOUR weekly workout schedule!? Ahhhhhhh… That would be amazing! You create them at the beginning of the week, send them to me, I POST THEM, and we can both inspire each other to stay on track! OOOOMMMGGGGG
Why haven’t we done this yet!? Ok, seriously. It doesn’t have to be gnarly, just attainable.

Ok, and I also have a confession…. Thursday: I forgot, it’s V-day… I’m gonna go ahead and cheat, and call it an off day….I’m freakin sore anyway. I’ll switch it for Saturday. Yeah, that works:) I don’t mind the gym being my Saturday night date!

How bout a bit of cardio inspiration?! I know, I know… I f*%#ing HATE cardio, but guess what….. Get over it. You know once you start, you get allllllllll crazy lady on that machine!
I found something similar to this on Pinterest I think, so it inspired me to create my own little treadmill circuit.
I get freakin bored sometimes, so it’s fun to challenge yourself. This one is great because it targets all of your body! We’ve got major inclines, sprints, walking uphill backwards, sideways, you name it. This isshhhhhhh is the bomb!
Next time you’ve got 30 minutes, try this CIRCUIT.

Last but not least, I know your all waiting for it;) GET THE LOOK:

Ready? Get this look for less than$65 bucks!

Shoes: my Target find, $29.99
Seriously, you need these! They don’t look like a $30 pair of shoes, they look like $ 100 pair of shoes. They’re incredibly comfortable, I actually worked all day standing up in them, and I was fine. The upper straps are brown and black leather, not that cheap looking fake stuff, and the wedge is a brown cloth material. Pretty damn cute, right!?

TOP: TJ MAXX $12.99 going along with my 70s looks as of lately :)

PANTS:TJ MAXX $16.99 almost like a thick, stretchy pant material. Loving these! The best part, is that they sit a bit higher on the waist, I’m not into low rise anymore. So played out.

It’s all about colors POPPING right now. Fun floral patterns are my jam. Check out the gold/turquoise Michael Kors watch… Take a wild guess where I found this gem???

A whopping $69.99, compared to $250

As I finally wrap up this post…. Today is VALENTINES DAY, so I wanted you wish you all a blessed and loved day!
What are your plans for tonight!? Hot date?
From my heart to yours<3

My beautiful people,

I am so excited about my new Pro Compression socks that arrived in the mail yesterday! I have to share with you guys what I think.
First thing I did this a.m, was put these bad boys on and headed straight for the gym.

This review is purely my own opinion in regards to this product, and I ain’t holdin back!
Since recently becoming more of a consistent runner, I’ve noticed that the bottom half of my legs have become uber sensitive to strenuous activity. Sucks, but true. I’ve developed this weird lump over the years, just right above my left ankle, that causes some discomfort and sometimes pain. Something I have yet to figure out.

I went to see the best vascular doctor there is, to see if maybe it was varicose veins, seeing that my mom had them at an early age. But no, not the case. Honestly, if it were up to them, I would be seeing every doc in town to see what it could be but, I’ve come to learn, that only you, can be your own advocate. They are guessing just as much as we are.

I found these compression socks from reading stuff mama.
This is what they claim to do:

Compression technology helps improve blood flow, resulting in better, more consistent performance with less fatigue and faster
More efficient muscle recovery.
In addition to improving vascular performance, Marathon compression socks provide support to critical muscles and tendons, helping reduce inflammation and soreness.

PRO Compression socks are designed specifically to deliver both maximum comfort and speedy recovery times. The science is complex, but benefits such as improved blood flow, stability and comfort are universally understood.  The moment you put these socks on your feet and incorporate them into your game, you will feel and understand the difference.

PRO Compression socks are noticeably tight and require more effort to put on than standard socks in your drawer. But it’s that extra effort and much-needed compression that make all the difference.

All of their claims, I find to be true. Some people wear them during races, some after a workout, and some during a weight lifting session. I highly recommend those especially with knee problems. These socks provide added support to the ankle and the calf.  I find them extremely helpful and have definitely improved how my body feels during and after the workout. I purchased these through their website and to my sweet surprise, the white ones were 40% off! Be sure to sign up to their mailing list to recieve great deals and info.

I’m loving my interval elliptical cardio workout that I’ve been doing lately.

30 min

intervals of : 2 min @ incline 8/ resistance 5

3 min @ incline 5/ resistance 9

Sweaty netty was in the hizzy.

Did a little jump rope today in the circuit, along with oblique twists, side planks, mountain climbers, dead lifts, and cable cross.

Foe a grand total of 1 hour and 15 minutes. WOOHOO! Feelin good and tight.

Lately I’ve been loving the gym, instead of working out at home for some reason, I think maybe, watching everyone else work out, pushes me harder. Do you guys ever feel that?

When I got home, I threw together this delicious SOUTHWESTERN HEALTH OMELETTE. It tastes naughty, but couldnt be healthier. Get into it. Sometimes I eat this for dinner:)

I swear, If I could put cilantro and flax seeds on everything, I would. Soooo yummy.

I forgot to pack my lunch last night. (annoying). So I rushed to do it this a.m. I just threw a bunch of stuff in baggies to make a salad. Boring, but yummy. I usually use tupperware, but have been accidently been leaving them all at work and had none left this morning. It’s funny, by the end of the week, I leave work with a Trader Joe’s bad full of tupperware to take home.

OK… this is where it gets GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

Oh yeah, I’ve got the secret ladies! This is a breakthrough.

My friend and co-worker Aaron Bock, AKA: Mr. Perfect Skin, is my hero for finding this, adapting it, and sharing it with us girls.

He’s always on top of it with the latest and greatest beauty tips, secrets, products, and websites we should be into. We all know that keeping your face clean, and wearing sunscreen is a must, DUH. Ok, what else… Well, I am convinced that NOT enough of us realize that what we put inside our bodies is just as important.  This is the best way to FEED your FACE and BODY:)

Unlike juicing, which tends to extract most of the fiber from the veggie, and leave you with all the sugar, blending in the greens, ensures that you receive all of the benefits and nutrients from the greens. Who the heck wouldn’t be into this?

I have been drinking this the last couple of days, and I, not only feel amazing, but my skin is reaping the benefits!

You have GOT to take my advice, and incorporate this into your daily beauty regimen. You can use any ol’ blender, you don’t need a Vitamix. Although the VITA is my FAVE! Greens need to be worked down to a creamy consistency, but most people simply don’t chew that much! The unbelievable flavor will blow you away. It comes out REALLY green, but there is nothing bitter about it. It’s delicious.

Proud to announce the launch of “Beauty Sludge”

One of my favorite snacks throughout the day… baby gala apple. It’s like dessert to me. Excuse the neglected un-manicured nails;/

I had a dine in dinner date with a girlfriend of mine tonight in mi casa, so when I got home from work , I put out a few appetizers,  and whipped up this delicious salad. Don’t you love when your friends eat healthy too? God, it really does make life easier.

Some RAW pistachios

Roasted sea weed snacks from Trader Joe’s

& my fave: Kaia salt n vinegar kale rounds topped with fromage blanc,  Nature’s Hollow sugar-free apricot preserves, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. (you gotta try these) Great little finger foods.

PLEASE, if you haven’t yet tried these healthy (gluten free, raw) snack chips, you are missing out. Have them alone or top them with anything you would like. They are a powerhouse of nutrients. Food as Fuel, right?

Get these at your local whole foods, a health food store near you, or online.

I roasted some red peppers for the salad in my convection oven. I find that these are a great additive to any side dish or salad. I love them. Plus, they get all sweet, gooey and yummy! LOVE.

I shall call her: “Winter’s Dream Salad”
